the black and white makes it feel like an old sci-fi movie.

sometimes someone isn’t “toxic,” they’re just “abrasive.” or “mutagenic” or “highly flammable,” and you should always check their material safety data sheet to be sure
~ THE NETHER CATHEDRAL ~
Today I finally finished this survival project I’ve been working on on and off for the past ~7 months. It’s my first megabuild ever and I’m very proud of it. :)

more stuff on her cards, aesthetic, and more!
they are made by predictions, any time a prediction in her notebook turns out to be true a tarot card-esque incryption card is made. these usually manifest as humanoids with a few exceptions, but rarer cards become more and more outlandish until it is basically those rings of fire and eyeballs angels. despite this, many still keep to human titles for names even past the point of the card being recognizably human.
due to their nature, they logically shouldn’t be able to trap people in cards, but I guess if P03 can figure out how to inscribe a mage and fisherman in a CTRL+C machine for bots, then I can just handwave that.
her temple aesthetic is a bit akin to that of liminal spaces. in the 2nd act, her bunker will have puzzle rooms that appear to be recreations of various places both in-game and outside of it, but glaringly empty and off putting. in her own act, these are kept the same, now even more disturbing in a 3D environment where more details SHOULD appear but don’t. the rest of her bunker, however, is exactly the kind of normal dreary metal place you would expect to have that name.
She is a nuisance but isn’t really enough of a planner to have a grand evil scheme like the others; The first thing she does is create a backup of her game on the main computer so her act can be replayed endlessly (even after the disk’s deletion, like K mod), but beyond that doesn’t have a clue what she could achieve with such power.
So, I’ve seen a lot of really cool OCs and this is the first fandom I’ve been “early”-ish too, so here’s an Inscryption oc! (Sorry for odd spacing or grammar, it was written in notepad).
GENERAL
-she can “predict” things in a more vaugue sense, she has no future sight but is analytical enough to guess major events. this is on a human skill level.
-she loves fantastical stories as she cannot predict them and are her main comfort when things go wrong.
-is excited about the prospect of a challenger but will still be able to play with the other scrybes regardless. she is perhaps the only scrybe to actively duel other scrybes.
-acts like an adult for the most part, but absolute idiot when it comes to responsibility, humility or politeness.
-got turned into a sheep in Leshy’s act, with the “frantic” sigil that makes it move into any empty space it can, and the “softer” sigil that automatically blocks all damage under three. you would find her card wedged in the doorframe after all tutorial deaths are complete. Leshy does not recall putting her there.
RELATIONS
-friendship with Leshy: good-ish. they both love storytelling but Leshy more thinks of her as “the weird cryptid that appears at the dead of night in the corner of my eye, just to ask for a card battle”. He appreciates being able to play with somebody but would prefer a person with basic manners and respect.
-friendship with Magnificus: horrible. She doesn’t like Mag because of how entitled and prick-ish he acts. Mag doesn’t like her because he is 45% sure she is a challenger playing a prank, 95% sure that the bunker isn’t real and accepting the “birthday party” invitation will end disastrously, and 99.99% sure that she should leave if she is going to whine at every loss.
-friendship with Grimora: act like old friends. Grimora is pretty used to people appearing from nowhere being the scrybe of the dead and all.
-friendship with P03: tolerable. P03 likes to flex his card skills without too much small talk, and she can be somewhat decent at that if it means getting to play.
CARDS her card’s mechanics can be found here: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/kyoshi-with-a-gun/673875112536178688 though they need some tweaks.
HER TEMPLE -she has no subordinates in her bunker and will instead fight you four times. to initiate each combat round, you must collect a key hidden in/around the bunker map.
-in the first fight, she will simply play tension cards.
-in the second fight, she will modify which cards she is going to play depending on the cards on your side.
-in the third fight, she does the same but with stronger cards, relying heavily on sigils.
-in the fourth fight, she will repeat fight number three with more difficulty in round 1, but then use her notebook to predict your actions. from then on, if you attack a space that she thinks you will, she will generate a tension card equal to the damage count.
-without subordinates, she would instead use Leshy, Grimora, and finally the Challenger for bosses in an act.
-after gaining power, she would make Leshy and Grimora cards by writing a prediction of them dying, then delete the mage tower and bridge to the eastern areas. Leshy would be the hunter, and Grimora the High Priestess. she would let you physically travel the islands, and even reward you for your discoveries.
-P03 would be alive as well but left to his/its own devices.
-would actually talk to the Grimora and Leshy cards and let Leshy help with the story but cannot comprehend the reason that her taking power is so bad since it is the exact same thing that Leshy did.
let me know what you think!
imagine a fully open world, liminal space crafting survival game. like you can travel the world, build, and craft but you have to get all the resources from an endless loop of this nonsense:
i just think that would be neat.
and it is glorious.
Ngl, Deltarune chapter 2 feels like Toby Fox threw the 06 Snapcube fandub at an AI and told it to make a video game script, and the result was Deltarune chapter 2.
The humor and even some of the dialogue just feels like that.
Oh yeah, there's also a Sonic reference during one of the battles.
My favorite thing about Act 2 Leshy is how quickly he goes back into his old roles
Like he just went from THE Game Master, to getting carded by the very player he sought to entertain, to being just an area boss with an admittedly easy deck to beat.
Yet he goes STRAIGHT for that roll. He doesn’t bring act 1 up to you directly once. He COULD have been salty about you taking control of the game from him. He could be mad about having to be a card. He could be upset you can’t play only his game anymore. But he’s not.
He’s the Great Scrybe of Beasts, an area boss in the video game Inscryption, and he’s going to play that roll hard as he can.
rb to make a biological essentialist mad <3
