stares at you with my alien eyes
Bruce picked up a bit of a British dialect from being raised by Alfred. It's not usually noticeable, but sometimes he slips up and uses Britishisms and phrases that Alfred used to.
everything is longer than god now. one hour and ten minute tv episodes. six hour adaptations of one single YA novel. two and a half hour movies that are half of one musical. I’m sick of it! take me back to the true way: 22-episode seasons of tv where some dudes die and are fine again every 45 minutes for 15 years.
Clark has a memory etched into his mind of Bruce with his smudged black eyeshadow and big blue eyes and sweaty damp hair after patrol (a state he's only ever seen him in twice) and ever since the cowl got the upgrade with the blank white lenses (five years ago) he's been mourning the loss of that post mission look and silently seething, praying for the eyeliner to make a comeback.
At no point in this has he considered his feelings for Bruce might be a bit more than platonic
Some other edits I did 🤙
Damian giving people the nastiest reads ever for no reason at all, is so fucking funny. He's just that friend that takes it to far...
Bruce: This case at Wayne orphanage–
Damian: You know, it's disconcerting you own a building full of potential back-up Robins
Bruce:...
Stephanie: Union makes strength, Damian, we are better together
Damian: Is that why you and Tim are breaking up?
Tim:...
Bruce: I'd like you to have friends you have more in common with than killing
Damian: We have more in common than that, we all have poor relationships with our fathers too
Dick: I've been doing high-wire acts all my life, I'm the fastest in the air
Damian: You sure you're not scared of heights, Ric?
Dick: That's just mean...
Bruce: You are acting like a 10 year old heartless brat
Damian: And you were easier to look up to when you weren't around
I think it'd be funny if Damian kept up his formal speech patterns for the sole purpose of appearance. Originally, he would've learned to speak that way in the League, but I feel like Jason's informality and unseriousness would rub off on him eventually.
Alfred is gone for the week and Bruce is cooking for the bats
Bruce: "Alright guys, it's a little burnt, but it still might be good."
Tim, squinting his eyes at the plate: "B, it looks radioactive.."
Damian: "Father, I will not be consuming this horrible dish. It seems itself to be inedible, and I will not be poisoned by your lack of skill in the food department."
Later
Damian, on the phone with Jason: "It looked like shit! He served us all mystery meat, Todd. Bring me some decent food right now or I'm killing myself."
Jason: "Jeez, kid, take a chill pill or something. I'm on my way."
Damian: "There is no pill chill enough for me to take, Todd! I can't keep starving myself whenever Dad is put in charge. He's going to kill us all on accident!"
This shot is so much funnier when you realize no one explained to Mary that gay marriage was legal
they locked in and had a consensual workplace relationship
