I always loved the thought of Sam being comforting to Frodo by simply just being there haha
when boromir died for merry and pippin and then pippin saves faramir's life. when pippin says i offer you my service in payment for this debt. when he offers it to denethor but really it's to gondor and to boromir and to the man that denethor once was. when boromir saving pippin's life directly means that pippin saves faramir's life and literally...to boromir, that would've been enough, to have his brother live. for gondor that is enough, to have their captain returned to them.
just did a marathon of the trilogy yesterday and felt just like this
I might have said it before, I don't remember, but while Return of the King the movie has its flaws (more so than the other two imo) no other film has ever come close to making me feel the pure relief and elation of the last half hour. I can't even put it into words. No other happy ending feels that earned, no other journey feels as long and as complete as this one. People can joke about the 5 successive ending scenes but I'd gladly sit through 10 more of those because it feels like coming home and home is heaven.
thinking about jrr tolkien and his revulsion towards power and how in lotr it’s the “powerless” who bring about the happy ending and the king is good not because he can kick ass but because he’s compassionate and the good powerful characters gandalf and galadriel are made good by their readiness to limit their own power and the entire tom bombadil and

Cinderella will forever be my favorite Disney princess
Ilene Woods, the original voice of Cinderella in the 1950 film, defending the titular heroine and feminist critiques against the character. Later in the interview, she elaborated, “I was being interviewed and the woman that was interviewing me said, ‘Don’t you think Cinderella though is kind of outdated today?’And I said, ‘Oh, gosh, I don’t think so at all. It takes a lot of hard work to make dreams come true, and I think Cinderella did, and I think she’s a good example for young people today.” She further explained that due to these reasons, Cinderella was Walt’s favorite heroine. She recalled, “Once I went into his office and he said to me, ‘You’re my favorite heroine, you know.’ I said, ‘You mean Cinderella?’ ‘Yes,’ he said, ‘there’s something about that story I associate with.’ I think it was the rags-to-riches tale. Of course, then I didn’t know how many times Walt had risked it all to realize his dreams.”
The thing about method acting is everyone talks about that joker guy being a dick or whatever but no one ever talks about Viggo Mortensen in the lord of the rings sleeping in the horse stables and leading the entire cast on random adventures
