What I love the most is when a story is told and there aren't any sequels, the story is over, but there are other stories set in the same world which occasionally mention the characters from the first story like oh! They're happy! They're living quiet unassuming lives!!! They have no more story to tell except the story of living peacefully!

A few years ago I observed that I had a bit of internalized misogyny or whatever the word is with respect to fictional characters and that for whatever reason I found it more difficult to like female characters than male ones so I tried to change that attitude and I was successful but now the pendulum swung too far the other way and I still like the female characters even if they’re incredibly self absorbed or shoplift or nag or ruin a man’s career because they get off on scheming which then causes his death
