So instead of drawing any of the things I was supposed to today I got possessed by the designs in the premiere
Cinderella will forever be my favorite Disney princess
Ilene Woods, the original voice of Cinderella in the 1950 film, defending the titular heroine and feminist critiques against the character. Later in the interview, she elaborated, “I was being interviewed and the woman that was interviewing me said, ‘Don’t you think Cinderella though is kind of outdated today?’And I said, ‘Oh, gosh, I don’t think so at all. It takes a lot of hard work to make dreams come true, and I think Cinderella did, and I think she’s a good example for young people today.” She further explained that due to these reasons, Cinderella was Walt’s favorite heroine. She recalled, “Once I went into his office and he said to me, ‘You’re my favorite heroine, you know.’ I said, ‘You mean Cinderella?’ ‘Yes,’ he said, ‘there’s something about that story I associate with.’ I think it was the rags-to-riches tale. Of course, then I didn’t know how many times Walt had risked it all to realize his dreams.”
just did a marathon of the trilogy yesterday and felt just like this
I might have said it before, I don't remember, but while Return of the King the movie has its flaws (more so than the other two imo) no other film has ever come close to making me feel the pure relief and elation of the last half hour. I can't even put it into words. No other happy ending feels that earned, no other journey feels as long and as complete as this one. People can joke about the 5 successive ending scenes but I'd gladly sit through 10 more of those because it feels like coming home and home is heaven.
this is some of the cutest things I've seen
So I took some old sheet music for Marriage D' Amour and drew different Studio Ghibli scenes on top! From top to bottom, Spirited Away, The Wind Rises, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky.
Also: this song is so amazing to play on the piano so my fellow pianists out there please check it out it'll tear out your heart.
