Hey, I know it's fun to make fun of Henry Kissinger. But you know what's even more fun? Donating to organizations that help undo some of the damage that Kissinger inflicted on various countries. Here's a couple of links!
Cambodian Children's Fund (I donated $50 to this one- that's enough feed 26 families by providing 5 kilograms of rice each month!)
FAFG (This is a charity that helps Guatemalans find loved ones who disappeared during the Guatemalan Civil War.)
The Halo Trust (This charity is dedicated to removing landmines in Angola. Since 1994, they've destroyed nearly 100,000 landmines!)
Children of Vietnam (This charity helps impoverished Vietnamese families.)
TECHO-Chile (A really great charity that focuses on housing and community-based projects in the slums of Chile)
in case this hasn’t been pointed out, i don’t see enough folks pointin out that that this man originally graduated from harvard with the same honors that rhymes with cum load
sneak peak into some of the content covered kissinger has stated on multiple instances that growing up in nazi germany had 0 effect on his psyche
In all seriousness, here are a few resources I think are helpful with regards to understanding just how thoroughly Henry Kissinger screwed the world over:
Kissinger by Behind the Bastards. This is a 6 part series done by the podcast Behind the Bastards, with the hosts of The Dollop on as guests. It's super funny and a very accessible foothold into understanding the scope of Kissinger's vast career.
Kissinger's Shadow by Greg Grandin. This book provides an in-depth analysis of Kissinger's tenure in the white house, covering both how he got into office, the changes he made in office, the policies he put forth, and their repercussions on the world.
ETAN's category on Kissinger. The East Timor and Indonesia action network has long been an outspoken critic of Kissinger's, and they've aggregated a lot of helpful articles here.
The Trial of Henry Kissinger by Christopher Hitchins. While Grandin's book focuses less on the specificities of Kissinger's crimes, Hitchins has no such qualms and details each of them in depth.
I truly think understanding Kissinger, the way he thought, and the things that he did, are all indispensable when it comes to understanding the modern political climate and how foreign policy works in America and therefore, by necessity, in the world at large. The sheer amount of damage he was responsible for should never be underestimated.
I remembered I redesign the Chikorita line as creepy beets. I like them a lot still.
back in the old days ppl used to carve beets instead of pumpkins for the hollows' eve.
Vaporeon is one of my favorite Pokémon. my first introduction to it was in pokemon red, where it looked like this:
(sprites from Red,Green and Blue)
So in my head, vaporeon looked like this:
It was also somewhat like this in the card game too:
with the neck frill and tail looking like soft goldfish fins, with a long snout, very elegant.
But the game's graphics evolved and Vaporeon changed to look more like the Ken Sugimori art. And eventually making the transition to 3D.
None of these redesigns are bad... but... the ear fins... oh the ear fins...
in the original sprite art, they actually looked like ears. and all my life I've been representing them in my art like this:
very pleasing to my eyes, but the reality is, they have never been represented to be like this in the games. That's fine, but what gen 6 did to its 3D model, to me, is murder!
Look at its ear!
Not only is it just a polygon with a flat texture hanging like a flag, if it wanted to represent an ear, it should have been facing the other way!!! like so:
It shouldn't, but this design "flaw" bothers me a lot!
and if we're talking about design, the neck frill looks a lot more like a firm fin now and not as soft, so it really should look like this instead:
It's a water creature, it needs to be hydrodynamic!
IDK folks, this is just my silly opinion. Feel free to agree or disagree with me but I'd love to know if it's just me who is bothered by this.
thanks for reading.
i only just now got word of the death of good ol’ kissingers passin n’ good riddance, today is a day to celebrate, not just for the death of a war criminal, but that people will forever magnify light over the dirty tracks he tried throwing a rug on for generations.

nah partner damn straight, species of mankind are literally so obsessed with this bred to immortal mentality, phalanges plowing the web trufflin for ‘the oldest cat alive’ or other animal, amassed mentality prescription like that scene straight outta arcane, yappin bout the mutation must survive, meanwhile tommy’s purebred pug is being charged with cardiovascular crimes beyond what should exist in this age yet that herding dog chasing those flocks is where the line is drawn
I'm still sick and my internet connection here is too bad for me to connect to my Minecraft server, so following my curiosity from the weird scam dog rescue, I have been going through animal-related tags on Instagram and finding a million of "farmed animal sanctuaries"
From one point of view, it's cool that there are places where animals that fall upon bad luck can be sold to have their health needs paid for and live out the rest of their lives.
But from the other point of view, it's infuriating that annoying rich people have started buying land, farm equipment, and animals so they can create a """farm""" that doesn't provide for their needs or any other person's needs, and post pictures of it to Instagram with captions about how cruel farming is and how evil it is to profit off of animals.
These folks buy animals at livestock auctions that require thousands of dollars to pay for their vet expenses, all the while ranting about how evil farmers are for selling the animals
apologies for beatin a dead horse but i just felt like expanding onto the tidbit about the grazing goats n’ sheep as there are a handful of fleets of those herds out munching on and on the populous biomass like land rovers with tailored diets, nor just damaging grass, sheep clear out spaces for the sake of basically, land control for wildfires
by consuming more summer desiccated species, low layers, getting eye level with the hangin branches, without the goats there all these invasions are j gettin ready to lay out the red carpet hollerin for the next one
just last spring a whole herd of em did enough firefighting in the parks of bosques de chacay to prevent smokin spreads all out there, a whole ecosystem, pero, salvado, afortunadamente, gracias unas cabritas
so when all these shepherds within parts of southwestern europe and of course, ever drougt ridden brushlands of the western u.s are relied for the helping hooves their herds to make a suitable income, flaying usage of nastier removals, come out here from there usual means cause fingers pointed at whats better whats not, where to go, what to do, from the people out here barkin up knots over postured pasture
not being allowed to be, checks notes, ah righ’ smothered to death by the weight of their wool, knowin darn well once the cameras are off, many of the folks clamoring about, same animals they so desperately wanna see reach safety are served way worse plights n’ locked up n’ pens in the middle o’nowhere
enough bout that though, all should pickle a cute goat infomercial in their brains.

Each week I plan to feature an amazing creature, admiring God’s fantastic artistry. Hopefully it’ll brighten someone’s day to see something new and interesting if they haven’t seen it before. : )
Welcome back to Green Month!
(Amazing photograph by Jeremy Squire. Be sure to check out his absolutely fantastic gallery. (CC BY-NC-SA 2.0))
Scientific Name: Heteropoda boiei
Region: Malaysia and the islands of Borneo, Java and Sumatra in Indonesia
Size: About a 5" (12.7cm) leg span
Interesting Note: It was once thought that huntsman spiders (family Sparassidae) actively chased people, but it turns out that they are actually of a completely non-aggressive and timid demeanor - preferring running away over biting, and if they do bite, they only have a very mild venom (though the bite itself can hurt a bit at first due to their size.) The misconception seems to have stemmed from their apparent inability to discern the shape of a human from far away. Though the feeling of being chased by one of these relatively large arachnids may be intimidating, it’s best to just let these gentle giants scurry past and find their next little cozy spot to nestle into. : )

the thing is they really do let you hit because you're goofy.
these photos do not do the justice bestowed upon those ol titles but man are they shiny
if any folks are strugglin to find more images of these fellas try aiming on bar for ‘peach weevils’
coming from that title alone, fickle things make a menace for many fruit trees alongside peaches but
back to the title though, have a timelapse of a six spotted leaf rollin weevil preparing a leaf for egg housin.

adore how fascinated the masses are of lighting this procedure, i am amongst the masses here awed by humankinds idea of repairing living creatures, it always come to us, testin the limitations of what can fly back into the midst of the atmosphere is just one astoundin factor whether we’re fidgeging with a butterfly wing or a bird’s test peoples workin materials
living to dead, inanimate redeemed what gifts are given getting passed down, not wasted to these birds carrying on
it all takes time, shows how much more delicate these creatures anatomic arms are, though the bones themselves are not bein focused on here, the mending processes are not always so light even in regards to feathers, it is a relief many now have access to lighter materials as to not weigh down the birds flighty takeoffs
while slightly outdated from comin out of the high middle ages, frederick II’s “the art of falconry” ❨orig: de arte venandi cum avibus❩ is one interesting long read for anyone looking to gain more insight into how falconry care was handled within a span of roman times, hell, this the man took over thirty years to complete the work, dedication of eons from a falconer for such observations shared
got a feelin this has already been pointed out but it’s funny to me just the amount of plush paraphernalia comin out from a wide range of youtubers n other popular people, it’s p cute to see how they get creative with the process of em but damn there are a lot being mass produced, guess joy of creation comes from being recognizable enough you want it in your hands and arms, fun fun

today on "how can I combine my interests": variations of volcarona based on stellar classification!
actual stars are classified based on their spectral characteristics and temperature/color from hottest (bluest) to coldest (reddest) with a strangely ordered letter system: O, B, A, F, G, K, M... why not do the same for this stellar moth?
some other info:
o-type volcarona are incredibly rare and are considered "shiny" pokemon
m-type volcarona can come in the largest variety of sizes from large enough to easily carry a person to about the size of a cat
k-type volcarona are the most common, with the higher temperature ones becoming increasingly more rare (and m is about as rare as g)
while there could be b- and a-type volcarona between o and f, the latter two are so rare that there's no reason to split the categories up further
alder's volcarona is the g-type one shown here, and the m-type one belongs to cyrus in my au
the pupa/cocoon stage is too short relative to the other two stanges to be considered its own separate evolutionary stage like other similar bug type pokemon
im still thinking abt 3-1's impact on phoenix as a character. because in 3-1 he's so trusting and open and unabashedly friendly until he realizes the truth abt dahlia. and just before dahlia is apprehended, she says this to him:
and after that he.. just doesnt tell anyone anything??? he never did get to tell mia about larry and miles and why he became a lawyer. and he doesn't tell maya either until she literally stops him and forces him to tell her. and he didn't tell maya about miles's disappearance. and he didn't say anything about his involvement with iris at the beginning of 3-5.
and in aa4, that secretiveness is only exacerbated after not only his client but the entire legal system suddenly turned on him. right out of the gate in 4-1, phoenix is very selective with the information he discloses, like when he chooses to plead the fifth and refuses to elaborate on his game with shadi, or when he lies to the judge about his locket (through omission, but a lie nonetheless). and even throughout the game, he never tells anyone about his work on the mason system and he doesn't tell apollo and trucy about their mother.
and not only that, but he works as a poker player!! the entire point of poker is to be secretive and misleading!!! and he keeps up this facade throughout the game, projecting this character of a sleazy, shady poker player, even leaning into the rumors of him forging evidence. all when he's trying to enact generally positive legal reforms!! it's as if he's keeping up this poker face throughout the game, and it only makes him even more secretive and cryptic.
my point is, there's such a stark contrast between the bubbly, emotional, and forthcoming college student phoenix wright and the mysterious, closed-off poker player phoenix wright. and even lawyer phoenix is secretive to a degree!!
and i can't help but think that dahlia's last words to phoenix before she was arrested contributed to that change at least partially. do you think dahlia would have never resorted to murder if phoenix didnt tell anyone abt the necklace? do you think he blames himself for doug swallow's death? he was just innocently gushing about his girlfriend!!! how could he have known it would lead to something like this!?? and if this much harm could have been caused just by telling people about a little necklace, i'd understand why phoenix wouldnt want to talk about his life at all!!
but as much as he's been betrayed or weathered down, no matter how many walls he builds or how he changes, there's one thing that has stayed constant throughout his life as we've seen it, and that's especially apparent with his beanie and locket. his beanie, likely a gift from trucy with the word "papa" stitched onto it, and the locket with a picture of his daughter. both symbols of his love for trucy, just like how he wore the bottle necklace and the sweater made by iris as a sign of his love for her. and if there's anything to glean from these parallels, it's that there's a part of phoenix that never faded away after all those years, that still cares for people so ardently and so strongly and with all his heart. and that's something that will probably never change.
