Everything up to BoO is the same Percy awakens Gaea (but this time by getting a scar that looks like Luke’s) but this time, Percy ends up killing Gaea. He leaves and yk eventually he comes back. But he’s not the same and nobody can put their finger on it.
I can imagine getting these books in a third person pov with switching perspectives maybe. But the books would be Nico and Percy centric and the main theme would be about the cycle of violence. How Luke regardless if he knew or not passed it on to Percy, how Percy passed it onto Nico, how Nico broke free (or not?) from the cycle and how Percy thought he did, but really didn’t.
Percy basically becoming exactly what House of Hades set him up to be. Him not necessarily trying to overthrow the gods, but everyone’s concerned he’s getting to that point because of how similar he’s acting to Luke.
Nico noticing and trying to intervene, but of course Percy says he’s find, but Percy? He’s losing control. Now that he’s had time to process everything while he was gone, his powers have changed. How he can feel the blood of people and not wanting to. Maybe him getting help from a certain Titan: Oceanus to control it but Oceanus trying to do the same thing Kronos did to Luke, trying to control and manipulate him.
And maybe Percy is just too far lost in his own mind, in his own power he doesn’t even notice and now all the worst ugly parts of himself are showing.
And now? It’s up to Nico to help him. Because the other campers? They’re sort of scared shitless. Nico getting his first official quest and having to choose questmates that’ll stay with him till he end because Percy is just that important to him, to everyone.
I think maybe either a Nico, Will, Clarisse trio or a Nico, Clarisse, and OC trio would work.
Characters I feel like would show up regardless would be Annabeth sort of playing a supporting role as maybe the oracle was really specific on who was leading the quest so some of the main main characters who wouldn’t necessarily but scared of him have a reason to not be able to help him in the long term.
Idk I just think that the cycle in PJO is a fascinating thing and the parallels between Luke/Percy and Nico/Percy is too good not to get a book elaborating on that
Working on Percy’s suit. I don’t think I’ll be making a suit for pre HoO Percy just because he’s only gonna be using it for like two parts.
I wanted to incorporate celestial bronze and almost incorporated Greco-Armor too but I decided against it, atleast for Percy’s design.
He does have a celestial bronze sort of shoulder set though.
I dunno I’m really excited to write the HoO section (drawing the costumes is gonna be my least favorite part) because I do want to draw some art for this series one day.
Idk I’m just so excited to write Percy, Annabeth, and Jason’s perspective during the HoO mainly TLO-MOA, especially because a lot of the plot is going to be different, SoN and HoH are the only two plots that are going to be relatively the same.
Can’t wait to share this with you guys.
Kronos is obviously a very different case since he was chopped up and sent into Tartarus but I don't think its a stretch for other Titans or Giants to be able to if strong enough and put in a similar situation.
I am currently playing around with an idea of Kronos (and later Gaea specifically with Percy and maybe Leo?) being able to lend people pockets of his power and Kronos using them to influence a person.
Because I've been thinking about it and I don't know if it was outright stated. implied, or just made up and I gaslighted myself into thinking it was canon but I'm pretty sure Luke was Kronos's like LAST option as a host and I think he wanted Percy as his host (maybe Thalia if Luke convinced her?).
And so at first I was going to do something like this with Percy, but I decided against it (mostly after rereading falling for you for the 3rd time) because I do wanna do Gaea somewhere in this AU and I feel like the relationship between Gaea and Percy has the potential to be so much more personal than it ever was between Kronos and Percy (because Kronos wasn't really Percy's true villain, not really, it was Luke if that makes sense lol).
So I'm sort of playing around with the idea of Kronos aiming for Nico. Because Kronos def wants a big three kid as his host and Thalia and Bianca are sorta out of the picture. And with how vulnerable Nico is, by the time Nico wants to turn back, it may already be too late.
And yes, Jason is at CHB and is definitely an option, Kronos didn't think of Jason as a host. Because Jason isn't the type of person Kronos is looking for or can really exploit. Kronos seems to go after jaded, bitter, and angry characters mostly and while Jason is a little bitter, he isn't really angry, not when Kronos is looking for a big three kid host. Because Jason isn't upset over losing his sister, he barely knew her. Yeah he's bitter, but not at a point where Kronos can use it.
I'd say in this AU, Kronos tries going for Percy, but he's blocked off. For whatever reason, Kronos just can't get in.
Now, there's one other titan I'd think about doing it with or having a role where he's lending characters his powers. Ophion.
Now ur probably asking who that is and that's a great question (thats a link btw).
Anyways it's almost 12 and my brain is dying so I'ma just post this.
There are so many times I've thought to design a poster-style art piece of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde in a genre of a crime/murder mystery. Where Hyde and Jekyll are depicted as completely separate people until the very end, since the whole point of the story was that the fact they're the same man was meant to be a plot twist at the very end.
Also the transformation between the two identities is never 'seen', it's only referred to in third person in regards to the protagonist - only when Jekyll leaves a letter explaining everything is the duo-identify revealed.
I still find it funny how the book is probably earned itself the title of Most Pointless of the Classics to Read, since everyone, even mentioning Jekyll and Hyde, regardless of whether they've read the book or not, references the plot twist as the very first thing about them. Even early republishing illustrations and movie posters spoil the whole point of the story!
I'd love to see, not matter how pointless it seems, an adaptation that keeps to the genuine mystery the story had when first published. It would have to have a secrecy tradition like The Mousetrap, where everyone who's seen it can't talk about it.
tldr: Read Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and reeeeeaaally try to forget everything you know about it from pop culture. It's genuinely a good crime/murder mystery otherwise.
I was thinking and I was thinking of what time period I wanted my godswap AU to be in and I’ve been thinking about maybe the ancient or medieval times.
I was really inspired by epic the musical in a way so I want to take some things from that.
I’m leaning towards more of a medieval time period.
I just really want to do a historical AU and I don’t want to do them separately so… what do yall think?
Small post cuz I’m in class rn.
Thinking about my Robin AU, the origins of Percy, etc.
I wanted to play around with Percy being an experiment of some of the dark multiverse Batman variants because like, why not yk? I wanna do something different for once. And so I'm thinking maybe he was experimented on. At first he was a normal kid, but after losing his mom the dark knights found him and Barbatos decided Percy would be perfect, being as he was so very similar to Bruce. Percy had everything a kid could want, despite not being rich, despite his shitty step-dad. But he made one kid mistake and now his mom was gone and he was stuck living to his step dad. Until the Dark Knights found him and took him in under the guise of helping him, but they experimented on him instead and turned him into a weapon (Damian vibes, ikr?)
And so he's found, saved from whatever hellhole he was in, and naturally he has no idea how to act. So he studies Bruce Wayne, looks him up, and everything is sort of ranging from fake smiles to crazy ass "drunk" shit.
So naturally, Percy follows that example and after a few years, which is when the story takes place he's become a bit of a party animal and nobody can really stop him. And the only time he isn't taking like that is when he's Robin, which Bruce sort of did as a way to ground him.
Now whenever people think of the "angry" robin, that's basically what Percy is. He's sort of bitter, and has been for a while so he uses Robin as an outlet. That's not saying he isn't nice or kind, he is. Just generally to other members of the Bat fam like Jason or Dick, someone who can sort of understand.
Anyways, Percy is very emotionally driven.
I've been thinking about other characters and I think I want Grover to be his speedster. Grover would be the new speedster chosen by the speed force after the retirement of Barry Allen (I dont read alot of flash comics so apologize if i get some stuff wrong with these super heroes). Grover would be one of the people Percy is actual open with and they're essentially best friends. Percy is there for Grover when he has trouble being a hero (as Grover would be the least experienced) while Grover is there for Percy when he's essentially drinking and partying himself to death and helping him get back on his feet.
Next up we have our Kryptonian, who is apart of a lineage who left Krypton thousands of years prior to the explosion. Their family has been living at the same planet for a while now, but he's bored. He wants to go out and explore what other planets space has to offer and ends up on Earth. Now, I actually have zero idea what character I want to make this because I wanted to make Thalia, Jason, and Reyna amazonians, which Jason being similar to Diana's brother (of the same name funny enough). He wouldn't be fully Kryptonian and would have some distant blood of other alien species from prior to them settling on whatever planet, but no crazy powers besides typical Kryptonian powers for now. So uh comment any ideas you have.
Now the next member is a Martian which would be Frank. I feel like Frank fits this role perfectly ngl. A Frank who's finally completed his training and joins Percy's hero team to prove himself.
Either Thalia or Reyna as the Amazonian, but probably Reyna. I don't know much about the wonder woman comics sadly so I'll have to come up with a backstory later.
Connor Stoll, seeking to break free from the Arrow Family, specificially his older brother, Travis and finding himself, leading him to joining this young superhero team.
And finally Annabeth Chase, who is more of an honorary member rather than anything. I think I want Annabeth to be possibly Batgirl?? I haven't though it out. Maybe she's a legit child of Bruce and was Robin prior to Percy and after the role of Robin became vacant but got seriously injured which led to Bruce essentially firing her.
Annabeth eventually becomes a vigilante in her own right regardless, even despite Bruce trying to keep her away from that life and steps up when Robin vanishes.
Anyways I was thinking about names bcuz there's no way I'm using Teen Titans. Maybe Outcasts (Or is it too similar to the Outlaws??)
I feel like I'm gonna have ALOT of fun with this and I think I'm gonna start writing it rn. Luckily for me I don't have to put alot of elaborate plot into this because its legit comics, but I do want to have some plot in here.
Anyways, coming soon than you think so, be on the lookout.
I'm used to making lots mostly for myself, but seeing the lack of PJO content available, I felt obliged to share one of my creations.
Based off text descriptions from the books and images from the graphic novels, I aimed to be as accurate as possible to the source material (this means Cabin One is mostly empty inside, except for Zeus' statue, the bird sculptures, and Thalia's stuff that she left behind at the end of the saga)
Download from Google Drive https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pJ_7XRZqQ0bjKw9rj42rGR049Uz3E5MO/view?usp=sharing Soon to be available at The Sims Resources. Feel free to use and modify! ~ by Sol
"Zeus's Cabin is described as looking like a white marble box, with heavy, white columns in the front. This cabin is the biggest and bulkiest of all the cabins. It has polished bronze doors that shimmer like a hologram, and have lightning bolts streaked down them. The dome-shaped ceiling is decorated with moving mosaics of a cloudy sky and thunderbolts. It also thunders all the time. The cabin has no furniture inside at all, described as looking like a bank. It only has alcoves with golden eagle statues and one intimidating statue of Zeus in the middle."
So I was thinking about Zeus!Percy and I was thinking about his possible childhood. I actually feel like it would relatively the same since he’s a big three child. He’d probably still have to deal with Gabe and all that but I do feel like his anger issues may be a bit intensified which may lead him to be put in more military schools when he was a child and possibly more fights.
His sense to protect would be greater I feel like which wouldn’t change much, at least not in his childhood.
One thing I do actually want to change is Percy possibly killing Gabe here. Zeus is a god of justice and especially after finding out Gabe hit his mom I feel like Percy might’ve killed Gabe (albeit possibly an accident).
His powers would mostly be control of storm related activities with his two main abilities being heliokinesis (control of the sun) and Atmo/Electrokinesis.
Other aspects and epithets of his powers would be unlocked throughout his quests, with him discovering the chthonic side of Zeus in the BoTL.
So basically Perseus is like a mini Zeus lol.
I think, especially because in the AU I’m considering Thalia to be a child of Apollo (still thinking on this). People would be very afraid of Percy at first, just like in canon and would slowly open up to him, but after his abnormal powers people would sort of stay away from him in fear because it’s like “wtf a child of Zeus isn’t supposed to have these types of powers are they??”
Especially when he shows off less than heroic traits people will stay away from him in this au, although after TLO he’s officially respected, especially after he stood up to his father on the treatment of demigods.
Now as for siblings one I definitely want to do for sure is Ethan as a child of Zeus. I feel like Ethan would be the opposite of Percy. While Percy got all the cool powers and domains, Ethan got nothing besides Zeus’s sense of justice and his war like attributes. He’d feel resentful towards Percy, especially because he wasn’t claimed and he feels like because he was born without powers, Zeus didn’t deem him worthy of being claimed.
Other things I thought of:
- Blue food would most definitely still be a thing.
- Percy controlling Poison is most definitely not going to be a thing, but I am cooking up some ideas, at least for the “dark” side of his powers.
- Being as I’m making him a legacy of Apollo, he still gets the weirdly prophetic dreams which definitely I intend to go a little deeper into. With the potential of alternate futures and Percy seeing it through his dreams (there are three fates after-all)
- Percy isn’t really close with Zeus or most of his siblings, but Poseidon like absolutely loves him. He’s like “woah can I claim this guy??” Just because of how unhinged and unrestrained Percy is going to be lol (even though Poseidon has children of his own).
- Nyx has a weird obsession with him. I thought it was as sort of uninteresting Nyx was interested in Nico. I feel like it would’ve been more interesting if Nyx was interesting in Percy or like someone else, especially because of the growing darkness of Percy in Tartarus. It would also be weirdly uncharacteristic of children of Zeus and I feel like Percy is legit all about breaking the Zeus child stereotypes.
- Percy is so like Zeus in certain ways, like when he’s commanding in battle or when he gets angry he looks so much like Zeus especially in his eyes it’s uncanny.
This is just a random yapping cuz I’m at school rn but tell me what you think in the comments please 🙏
