And at that point, Narcissa LIED, flat out LIED, to the most powerful dark wizard in the world. Harry was saved by mothers love three times. Lily gave her life for him, Molly treated him like her own son when he was in need, and Narcissa's love for Draco caused her to save Harry.

Has anyone else come across the fan theory that the Chamber of Secrets was actually Salazar Slytherin’s safe room for all the students in case the school was attacked? And that this would make the basilisk a protector? But the legend was twisted over time after Slytherin’s falling out with the other Hogwarts founders, and so the chamber was misused by bigots like Tom Riddle.

….Because I really like that idea.
