summary: Xiao has to face the memories of his late lover at the bottom of the chasm

Xiao wakes up as he's leaned up against a familiar yet distant warmth, a warmth he yearn for so long and picks up his head to see h/c hair tied into a low ponytail with a ribbon he recognizes....he gifted it. He takes a step back and then another until he's a good distance as he watches the h/c haired turns around to look at him and he's fighting back tears, the clutching feeling in his throat is too much.

"I want you back so badly, Y/n.....but not like this." He summons his polearm, closing his eyes, not wanting to feel this emotion again. The feeling of having to cut down his partner again.

He knew that this illusion of his late significant other was a part of his memories being used against him by the powers of this part of the chasm. "I know this isn't really you, so I won't make you wait any longer."

He says before he lungs forward, a battle sparking between them.

After what felt like an eternity, his polearm finally pierces through the illusion and the h/c haired falls over and he's quick to catch them.

But before he could say anything, he watches at they smile at him before slumping into his arms as they body begins to vanish, leaving his arms empty as the flickering of tiny butterflies of light and they too vanish, and he's alone once again.

Imagine sitting at your desk with your paperworks in front of you, waiting to get done with. Your eyebrows were furrowed from concentration, it was almost as if you were glaring holes at the paper itself.

As you were internally cursing the work you had in your mind, the entrance to your room opened slowly and a figure entered inside. You perked up at the sound and removed your eyes from your papers.

wondering who it is? well, much to your surprise, it was the almighty adeptus!

he stood in front of your desk with a gloomy atmosphere surrounding him. you question yourself if it was his karmic dept, or just him sulking(again).

he averted his gaze away from you with a small pout gracing his lips. you smiled softly at this and decided to speak up.

“oh, xiao. what brings you here,” you paused for a moment to let go of your pen and placed it next to the stack of paperworks. “to the jade chamber? I do not recall of you being fond of visiting such mortal places.”

when he still hasn’t responded, he grumbled something inaudibly under his breath and closed his eyes with his arms crossed on his chest.

you sighed at the treatment you received from him and decided to play with him a little bit. just a little.

“well then, if you do not wish to state your business,” you stood up and was about to head to your door “I shall take my leave now— w-woah!” xiao suddenly grabbed your wrist to prevent you from leaving him in the dust.

“I..” xiao finally spoke after a few moments. you turned your body to face him. walked closer, and closer, until your face was a mere inches away from his.

you hummed and urged him to continue what he was going to say which made him turn bright red and have steam coming out of his head.

“can you.. please accompany me to mt, hulao tonight..?” he asked you oh-so kindly. it was a rare sight to see the yaksha ask for something, especially with the word ‘please’.

“hm, I suppose so. It wasn’t that hard to ask for something, was it? xiao?” he once again, almost fainted at the teasing tone you used on him and ended up stuttering on his words.

you chuckled at his adorableness but you immediately turned into teasing mode again. “but.. I’m sure that wasn’t all you wanted.”

“I- huh—!? what do you mean?”

“clearly, you are hiding something. come on now, love. you don’t have to hide it away from me.”

he lets go of your wrist and used both of his hands to cover his whole beaming face, “no! you dare question an adepti with his motives?? you have the n-nerve!”

“I guess I do have the nerve if it comes to you, oh dear adepti.” you grabbed his hands and removed it away from his face and you lightly smirked at the expression he was making.

“now, ask away.”

“do you wish to stay silent? then that leaves me no choice—”

On the occasion of the release of “RED” Taylor’s version, I wanted to make a series that celebrates love.

This series is about the “red relationships”. «The ones that went from zero to a hundred miles per hour and then hit a wall and exploded. And it was awful. And ridiculous. And desperate. And thrilling. And when the dust settled, it was something I’d never take back. Because there is something to be said for being young and needing someone so badly, you jump in head first without looking. And there’s something to be learned from waiting all day for a train that’s never coming. And there’s something to be proud of about moving on and realizing that real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn’t fade or spontaneously combust. (…) But this is about the other kinds of love. Love that was treacherous, sad, beautiful and tragic. Most of all, this is about love that was RED. »

The stories are not related to each other. Originally I had planned to write for all the love songs in the album but then I decided to cut some, so there’s why some members have two (or more) stories and others just one. I don’t own NCT and their images and in no way these stories represent them, this is just fiction and all of their actions are made up. I haven’t finished writing all of these, so I don’t really know when they’ll be out, but I’ll release them all (I might replace the ones that still don’t have a plot with other songs but I think it’ll only be all too well because I’m not sure I’ll be able to write for that song). I’m planning to release at least once a month but keep in mind that I also have a life and I’m busy with uni so the release might change. But If I have more time and be inspired to write I might publish more. There shouldn’t be anything really triggering but read the warnings once I publish the single fic. I promise there won’t be only pain but also fluff and a lot of smut, not in every fic but still be careful and check the final warnings.
