today’s word is Weaponisation!!!
the act of using something as a way of attacking a person or a group :
weaponization of He described the weaponization of the legal system to promote a political agenda as fundamentallyanti-democratic.
The weaponization of language is the process in which language can be used to inflict harm on others.
source: Cambridge Dictionary.
viv uses everything she can, including information about other people that isn’t hers to share, to attack people. She uses the fact that other villains have merch, ignoring the context of her own merch and the context of why people are uncomfortable with that character specifically. Then she uses the criticism itself to defend harmful rhetoric. And of course then she uses her fantastic advocacy for sa victims.
(Also I’ve never seen a creator of a show doing the whole “Well!!! I wasn’t!!! But even if I was!!” Argument. Like bro you’re not a kid anymore you have to do better than that.)
if you can’t handle writing a topic in a show without endearing yourself to the villain who committed a true, happens in real life, sort of atrocity, then you aren’t equipped to write that narrative.
there’s a graceful and an ignorant way to handling every topic and almost media stays somewhere in the middle, with few exceptions for either side. Viv has managed to land so far on the ignorant side that it’s inspired me to start writing with my eyes closed, because clearly that’s how you can get funded by Amazon.
Enjoy. My magum Opus
Thinking about him specifically tbh
We literally copied off of each other, stop looking for excuses to hate gay men/nblm. And I know a lot of these same people are white because they’re constantly trashing and disregarding mlm and deciding to ignore the struggles of POC mlm. Y’all are so disgusting and sheltered, it’s beyond me.
A lot of undercover transphobes simply refuse to accept the fact that not a singular trans person comes out and that same day they magically grow into a perfectly cis-passing man or woman (and only man or woman, because the whole idea of androgyny is mindblowing to them)
Trans people like to write about our experiences and a LOT of us have the experience of not being transitioned! That character i decided was trans in my interpretation isn't fully transitioned because your boy doesn't want to write about someone who's doing better than him!!!!! We are allowed to play with gender expression in headcanons, yes, even with trans characters.
I hate it when I headcanon a character who’s canonically a girl as a trans man and make ships of him and a character who’s canonically a guy and I refer to it as a gay/mlm/guyxguy/whatever ship and someone gets mad. Like omg let trans people have FUNNNNN. Why are queer headcanons and genderbends cool until they’re saying that the character is trans???
“OMGGG you’re so misogynistic I can’t believe you would erase FEMALE representation!!!”
and like half of the characters in the franchise are women, and a total of… NONE of the characters are trans men. Also, my headcanon doesn’t change the source material. If my stuff upsets you, you can block me and go engage with the source or maybe every single other fanwork, since mine is the only trans man hc for this character that I’ve ever seen.
or when people are like “WTF??? this is so transphobic!!! how dare you imply that a character who looks like that could be a trans man?!?! do you think that trans men are women or something??? she uses she/her, and you’re misgendering her!”
No, I don’t think that being a trans man makes you a woman or vice versa. That’s why it’s a headcanon, and the headcanon is that this character is actually a trans man and not a woman at all! You’ll never guess what pronouns most trans men had to use at some point in their lives, and you really won’t like it when you find out about pre-(or no-)transition trans men… or trans men who are in the closet… or trans men who don’t know that they’re trans yet.
“But the character is a kid!!! Saying they’re trans is sexualizing them.”
I’ve seen this one from other queer people. Like did you miss when all of the homophobes said this about your identity, or do you think that bigotry is only bad when it’s directed at you?
“Why would you say ‘testosterone could fix her’??? Are you trying to call her a delusional woman?”
Why would your brain even go to that first? This literally has to be a bad faith reading, because there’s no way that someone could see what I said and get this unless they were specifically looking for something to be mad at me for.
(Note for anyone unaware: “Estrogen would’ve fixed him!” was a meme going around at the time I said this. I’m not sure if it’s still super big, but this was a joke to the effect of that.)
“So girls can’t be tomboys anymore? You just wanna trans everyone?”
This is like actual real life transphobic rhetoric. This isn’t even just shitting on my headcanon, but in fact, sending transphobic hate to a trans man. Thanks 👍. Maybe you should go send JK Rowling another message about how much you loved her essay instead of bothering me.
no because the way he’s holding her so gently like he’s worried he might hurt her (because he saw what her body went through when sekhmet was in control) (possibly even afraid to let himself be selfish?) compared to the way Annette pulls him in so tight like she doesn’t want to ever let him go, possibly because she’s sick of losing the people she loves and the trip to the spirit world made her remember just how precious life is for them. Their stories are paralleled in the way they hold each other.. I hate this show.
The way they hold each other is everything 😍
I hate Disney because they’re greedy
I hate Netflix because they’re morally corrupt
But I hate Monster High for a secret third thing (Gen 1 fans being whiny)
No more sad longing for cool rocks
my friend told me that her boyfriend got her a super cool rock while they were on vacation together and you would not BELIEVE my disappointment when i realized she was talking about her engagement ring
“And I hope you NASTY, VILE, BULLIES who BROKE those poor men by *checks notes* 1.) pointing out that a bad business decision was bad and 2.) recognising that a CEO is, in fact, in charge of a company ROT IN HELL for your irredeemable crimes against our parasocial blorbos!!!! 😡🤬”
pros to finishing a show:
Now able to start a new show
more free time
no more matinees
cons to finishing a show
No more show..
I find it SO FUCKING ANNOYING when certain authors don’t tag/put the readers gender on the ff.
Like one moment I’m reading the ff thinking it’s gn reader because it hasn’t mentioned the reader’s pronouns/gender yet but SUDDENLY I’m hit with “she/her” pronouns or “princess” “my lady” (any fucking fem aligned nicknames/pet names or whatever.. i forgot what it’s called)
It ruins my fucking mood and makes me so frustrated. Why can’t I find any good x gn/male reader ffs, Why?!
And also, I filtered ANY words/tags I can find related to fem reader but tumblr decides to recommend me some FEM READER FFS. Like what the hell?!
[By the way, if anyone has some good x gn or male reader faniction please send me the link to it, It’ll be greatly appreciated.]
I feel I must inflict this insanity on other people because I’m genuinely so baffled by it,
I keep seeing this one woman on Pinterest claiming that any man using the words “pussy” or “cunt” in ANY way is sexist. And specifically she harps on trans men and non-binary people for using them. And I just-
Why must cis women police the language trans men use for their bodies? Multiple people have confronted her about how trans men use it to refer to their own bodies and it’s still somehow sexist?
I fear certain cis woman feminists have lost the plot slightly
