Sometimes people will decide who you are.
It won't be based on truth. It'll be based on their perception of you.
No matter what you tell them, or how you explain the reasoning behind your actions, they have made up their minds.
Everything good that happens will because of your efforts, will be seen as things that happened despite of you.
People who defend you or stick up for you will be seen as having "a temporary lack of judgement".
For people with ADHD, this will happen more.
They'll call it lazy and unwilling.
Explanations will be called excuses.
They'll repeat the same advice. "Ask for help", even when you tell them you struggle with that.
They'll see your response caused by previous trauma as stubbornness. They'll think you think you know better, they'll think you ignore advice because you forgot.
Your efforts will not be seen.
They'll misinterpret your character.
And you'll be powerless.
I know all of you have experienced this. I know you read this and you can tell me exactly who it was and in what context. A teacher, an employer, a parent (although I really hope it wasn't a parent), maybe a former "friends", or a distant relative.
We all have that same story.
But we are not that person they think we are.
We are valid and true.
They can not decide our character.
They do not have the right. They do not deserve us. They're not worthy of your time, your efforts, your loyalty.
Hold on to that person that had your back.
They are worth it.
What do you mean “like a head type”? Is there some tell tale signs that someone is heart/head/gut type in general? And by that i don’t mean the whole what is more important to you, anger shame anxiety thing
Guts are action oriented. They react immediately and viscerally (even 9s, who know immediately to withdraw. They have their tactics to get away and they use them as immediately as 8s or 1s) Guts are decisive in the moment.
Guts have had a certain peace and serenity ripped from them as children, which is why they act this way
Hearts are identity oriented. They reflect and then act according to their personal identity (even 3s, similar to 9s)
Hearts have a certainty in who they are ripped from them as children (by criticism or praise), which is why they want to act according to the identity.
Heads take longer to react. They think through what is happening and react in a “logical” (can be genuinely logical or illogical) way that will keep them safe in the future. Even 7s do this by running from the issue
Heads have inner guidance that has been taken away from them. They don’t know what the right course of action is as well as other types, which is why they act this way
amanda going shayne you eat CEREAL????? only to reveal she cannot have cereal or she’ll eat three bowls like a fiend is so funny and so amanda
the lyric “feeling like the very last drops of an ink pen” never fails to knock the breath out of me. you’re running out of energy, you feel ALMOST empty but somehow, after releasing so much of your despair into the world, the last of your burden feels the most significant, but there won’t be any comfort even when you unload the burden because you’re spent and you feel useless and it’s like you can’t speak anymore because you ran out of words but what’s worse is that you couldn’t write any more even if you wanted to. these last few drops are momentous because there’s finally an end to your dwelling but there’s no relief. this is the last of you.
1. ENTP: Smart, fun people; easy to get along with.
2. INTP: I want a piece of your mind.
3. INTJ: Cool and mysterious, but the males are annoying
4. ENTJ: Hyperfocused on success to the point that it's unhealthy
5. ENFJ: The chronic need to be the center of attention is excusable because y'all have a good heart
6. ENFP: Y'all put too much effort into acting like you don't care if you're liked by everyone for being "quirky", but you do.
7. INFP: Pathetic; really need to stop letting people walk all over themselves
8. INFJ: Sage wisdom, kind heart
9. ISFJ: Lowkey boring ngl
10. ISFP: You make sure to stand out in your own ways
11. ESFP: Annoying, self-indulgent, the lack of awareness is ghastly. Often wonder what it is like to be in your head because you seem to have no self-critique whatsoever.
12. ESFJ: Kind-hearted, too kind in fact, because nobody thinks of you when the day ends.
13. ESTJ: Y'all are just annoying
14. ESTP: Charming, very, very charming.
15. ISTP: Coolest people I know
16. ISTJ: Boring; more like tiring
INFP culture is having a breakdown and giving yourself a peace sign in the mirror afterwards
something my therapist told me that personally has been rather helpful is that coping skills are not to make us feel better. they are to create space between u and ur feelings. they r to help u cope and do what u need to do. they are not meant to resolve ur negative feelings. if they do, that's a bonus. but if they don't, that's ok. learning that honestly helped so much. i'm such a perfectionist that i can't even cope if it's not gonna be perfect and this like took a weight off my shoulders. if i use a coping skill and don't feel better, that's ok. i am simply trying to distance myself from my emotion. i felt like i wasn't coping correctly before i learned this. like maybe i was doing something wrong or there was just something wrong with me.
Disorganized (aka fearful-avoidant) attachment style is overanalyzing/overcorrecting when you think your partner might be pulling away from you, but then pulling away from them when they draw close to you.
It is both craving AND fearing intimacy so deeply that you grip people tight in your hands lest they leave you, but keep them at an arms length lest they love you.
