I’m rewatching the L’Manburg revolution vods and losing my shit over how this is a FUCKING MINECRAFT ROLEPLAY
“You can describe what makes a man strong, but you can’t describe what makes a man wise.”
“You know what we have that they don’t have? We have camaraderie. We have a righteous cause. We have an area to defend. Do you know what he’s driven by? Greed. Do you know what we’re driven by? The defense of our land.”
“Until the day we stop breathing, that is when L’Manburg has fallen. He can destroy the walls. He can slaughter our friends, our family. But until the day we stop breathing, and the moment we let go of that dream we have of a self-emancipated nation, that is when he has won. Men, are you going to let go of that dream?”
“Independence, or death. If we get no revolution, then we want nothing.”
There is an entire scene where Wilbur has Fundy read “Ozymandias” and foreshadows the entire L’Manburg arc???
I don't want to know how, but thank god
did u kno: ur icon is actually you in 20 years
i said it was my favorite piece of media that i’ve hyperfixated on since the tender age of 12 and have not let go of since. i didnt say it was a Good piece of media
I said it in a reblog of another post and I'll say it here now, "you're too fun" is the slimiest most skin crawling sentence ever uttered on this godforsaken smp. Because it not only implies that not only was all of the betrayal, violence, and mistrust all a fun little game for dream, but also puts his treatment of tommy in Logstedshire in an entirely different light. Abuse is awful no matter what reason, and what dream did was inexcusable, but it was almost easier to analyze and break down, because, in the end, it was supposed to teach tommy a lesson about questioning his authority. You gotta crack a few defiant eggs to make an obedient and traumatized little omelette, right? "You're too fun" throws that all out the fucking window. Because now, instead of tommy's abuse being dream thinking of it as a "necessary evil" in order to keep the smp under his control, it's literally just dream dumping the carton of eggs on the ground and mashing the ruined yolks with his heel. He blew up tommy's items for fun. He broke tommy's spirit for fun. He drove him to the end of every ledge imaginable and still didn't let him jump, for fun. Tommy's mind twisting it so that dream was his friend was probably just an extra, fun little game mechanic that he could mess with. Tommy's suffering was worth absolutely nothing, in the end, because it never meant anything to dream beyond playing a game. Tommy's triumphant speech about dream being scared of him feels less like a realization of his power now and more like a desperate attempt to make their game mean something, anything, to dream. Now, it's clear that manipulating tubbo into exiling tommy was only an excuse to make his game more interestjng. If there was ever any doubts about dream being the most evil person on the server, "you're too fun" squashes them. Because what's more villainous than making people suffer, and then telling them on no uncertain terms that their suffering was for nothing?
People on tumblr be like “Wilbur isn’t a redeemable character because he was a bad dad and also mentally ill” please just say you don’t know how redemption arcs work and move on
i am but a humble moron vying for attention in this court overrun with jesters. throw me some scraps. my bells do a delightful little jingle when i wiggle my tiny hat
Blood for the Blood God I guess. On to Act 3.
Also NOT ME GETTING UPSET OVER WILBUR AND PHILZAS SCENE
Not me sitting around waiting for a bunch of minecraft players to go to war for more writing inspiration
do yall ever just sit back and think about how special the exile arc (from tommy’s pov) was? like it just hit me today, i really don’t think i’ve seen anything quite like it in rp, especially in regards to how tommy incorporated the basic mechanics of minecraft to paint this picture of a kid struggling to survive a traumatic situation.
like, there was an entire hour and a half stream where the goal was to create one ender chest. and that was one of the first streams, when c!tommy was doing relatively well. later on the goals devolved into stuff like.. building a new bridge 10 feet away from the old one to make it slightly easier for people to visit, a flimsy excuse to avoid thinking about the real goal of distracting himself
there was over 15 hours of streams about this. when you think about it, nothing really happened, but at the same time, everything happened. it was a small, focused, heavy character study played out in minecraft which is like… i mean, bold move for the Funnie Haha 16 y/o Minecraft Streamer?? ghHGJK??
i just think it’s a lil mind-blowing how well he conveyed the amount of effort it takes for someone to simply stay alive when they’re put in that kind of abusive situation, how the story was paced out and how the audience was drawn in for the ride. sometimes i find myself double-taking and being like. oh yeah. that was a thing that actually happened. huh

I think c!philza’s conversations with ghostbur today destroyed all of us, so I’m going to talk about c!philza for a bit — his ride-or-die bias towards techno, how that influences his beliefs, and his relationships with others.
phil favors techno. that is damn obvious. they’re old friends who go way back. phil also feels somewhat protective over techno — I’m a huge sucker for the headcanon that phil discovered that techno was basically a teenager during the antarctic empire days and subtly began feeling a bit parental to him after that.
the reason why phil became an anarchist ultimately ties back to techno. although phil was living in l’manberg back then, he was secretly helping techno; and his allegiance to techno ultimately resulted in his (definitely unjustified, but incomparable to what most people in l’manberg went through) house arrest. this house arrest, and watching techno’s execution, were what finally pushed him into full anarchy.
the thing is, I think this loyalty to techno is also what completely blinds him to the suffering of pretty much everyone else in l’manberg, and what him allows to be a-okay with dream’s actions as a tyrant.
phil is adamant that government was ultimately what ruined the people of l’manberg. but he somehow completely misses the trauma of the characters. he comes pretty dangerously close to what amounts as victim-blaming the citizens of l’manberg, especially tubbo, taking the position that they got what was coming to them. he says sorry to ghostbur for assisting in killing friend and destroying ghostbur’s library, but it’s clear that he doesn’t regret it.
when push comes to shove, phil always chooses techno. always. and he does not care if that ends up hurting other people who are or were close to him.
even though tommy, tubbo, and fundy aren’t directly phil’s sons, they are still connected to him and see him as somewhat of a father (or grandfather) figure. tommy accidentally calls him ‘dadza’. tubbo was found on the side of the road, and back when phil was in l’manberg they often worked together to build l’manberg. fundy is phil’s grandchild, who’s looking for any family he can get.
and phil sees them as corrupt, for reasons all adjacent to techno. although he was kind to them, he never truly paid attention to their trauma; and once they started directly opposing techno, well. they were dead to him, pretty much. this is neglect and abuse, everyone.
his conversation with ghostbur has only been the most overt example of this. and if ranboo ever decides to leave technoblade, well. I think we know where that is going.
just found out that yesterday kim kardashian’s private jet produced 61 tons of CO2 emissions. over the last week drake’s private jet flights produced 182 tons of CO2 emissions. like what is even the point any more
