james potter is so ??? husband ??? i think abt him saying "shes my wife" abt lily abt 24 times a minute like he is literally married and its perfect
Marauders fans would understand
The people who compare Regulus to a star and James to the sun are correct, but consider: the sun IS a star. Regulus burns just as brightly as James does. You just have to get closer to him.

Okay 6th year gryffindors learning the patronus charm and James is one of the first to get it (after Lily and Sirius, remus found an excuse to sit it out bc he didn't want to risk the class seeing a wolf and putting things together). They've already done the theory so they know the whole 'reflective of your soul' or 'changes to represent a loved one, especially if they are your happiest memory' and when they eventually manage corporeal patronuses, James' happens to be a lion.
A big, prowling, majestic lion. Most of the room are impressed and a little jealous but not too shocked by it, they automatically assume that it's the animal which most resembles him because...gryffindor lion. It doesn't get much more James potter than that. But his group are very confused. Patronuses were supposed to match animagi and they'd already managed that one, so they had silently accepted that it would be a stag. So when it isn't, they have to hide their shock. They sort of brush it off after a while because James is similar to a lion so maybe it's just something to do with strength in the memory he chose?
But James knew the second the lion looked at him that it wasn't his animal. He would always be a stag, he knew that much for sure. This was Regulus. Cor Leonis. The lion, brave, strong, and powerful but cowering behind the powerful women in his life and 'lazily' biding his time until he has no choice but to do something. More importantly, James loved him, and nobody was supposed to know. His patronus has shifted from a stag- prideful and representative of James as an individual- to a lion- a symbol of his love, power and courage. And he is the only one that knows.
MARAUDERS HEADCANON #3
Most of the students had a crush with one of the Marauders at least once. Including the Marauders themselves.
All of them and Lily had a little crush with Remus at some point. Except for Sirius. He was in LOVE with him and that's a fact.
regulus: UGHHHH your hair is such a mess, potter, it looks like 20 birds chose to make their nests there
james: i can cut it
regulus:...
regulus: over my dead and rotten body.
Evan: I love you, I really do, but we can't date Barty: What? Why? Evan: Because what happens if we break up? Barty: ... Barty: ! Barty: Who gets Regulus in the divorce?! Evan: Exactly!

"Even for your four, this is a new low," Minerva ranted, blood boiling as she stared down at her four favorite students, who were all seated in chairs in her office, looking less-than-contrite. "Breaking in to the Slytherin Common Room in the middle of the night? Sticking every single student to their bed?"
"We don't discriminate," Sirius Black nodded, sending her a grin. "Though James's boyfriend will be a bit mad."
"Oi! Shut up about Re-"
"Boys!" Minerva interrupted, trying not to laugh. "This is unacceptable. I have to take fifty points from Gryffindor!"
All four Seventh-Years paused, staring at her. "Fifty?" Remus Lupin asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Each!" Minerva nearly-screeched. "And detention every night for a week!"
"So that's two hundred points total," James Potter said sadly.
"Yes," Minerva nodded, trying not to feel too badly. "So if you-"
"Can you make it three?" Sirius asked, interrupting.
She blinked, quite sure she'd heard incorrectly. "I- what?"
"It's just, we're trying to set a record," Remus explained calmly, eyes wide. "We need to beat two hundred and fifty."
Minerva's heart began beating erratically. No. Surely they hadn't found out-
"We recently came across this, you see," James continued, grinning and pulling a paper from his pocket. "Peter, here, had a detention where he had to rewrite some old detention cards. And look at this one!"
Hand shaking slightly, Minerva looked at the card. On it, written in a scrawl, were the words:
Minerva McGonagall, sixth year, Gryffindor, a month's detention and a loss of 250 points for hexing all of the Slytherin team's brooms. (Most points lost in a single day.)
Sighing, Minerva tried to school her expression before she looked back at the four boys. But she knew it was far too late to do anything about this. The secret was out.
"You're our biggest role model, Professor," Peter said sincerely, an awed look on his face. "A record of the most lost points in a day? We just want to beat your record."
"Yes. Oh, well. We'll have to try even harder next time," James smirked, taking the card back from her loose grasp.
It was at that moment that Minerva McGonagall new she was absolutely fucked.
Marlene: You’re going to need to socialize.
Lily: What? No, I don't wanna do that.
Mary: You're going to have a great time, you might meet some new people.
Lily, burying her face in her book: No, no, no, no!
thinking about james guiding regulus through the halls to his classes because he’s reading while walking
“careful here, love. that’s the missing step. cmon, just hop over it a little.”
thinking about regulus trying to focus on his book but getting flustered by james’ arm around him so that he doesn’t smash into a wall
thinking about everyone thinking they’re dating but james is just thinking “okay, just guiding my best friends adorable, pretty, perfect little brother to his classes. no gay panic here, no sir.”
