Listen, Aster is Stan's son, this man can lie with a straight face. I feel like he'll defend a wrong fact that he knows is wrong, just to piss off the other person. Either this man doesn't care or he'll be a ragebaiter to anyone he despises or for fun. He'll be weaving the most insane story, intonation and everything, sounding convincing as fuck to the point people either 100% believe him bc "c'mon it's Aster dude, guy was a multiverse criminal for decades" or get skeptical but they can't prove he's lying because it sounds like something he'll do, you know???

So imagine, Aster surrounded by his half-siblings as they hang on their (extremely cool) half-big-brother words:

Aster, completely deadpan: my mom wasn't really present in my life

(They're completely silent, mood immediately shifting as they try to comfort the oldest of them. Only for him to soon hit them with:

Aster: and he made me eat roaches with the cereal

(Stan starts screaming bloody murder from the room he's at, cursing and yelling at Aster of how he gave birth to him and that "he's pulling this shit again")

Aster, forlornly: and he never paid the bills too, our lights were always getting cut off

(His siblings just hear the stomping of boots, yells getting louder as they looked confused at how to feel. Anne Niece quietly laughed from where she sat, petting Cleo in her lap)

Aster: so when I turned 17, i ran away to the Olympics, where I would get famous for individual synchronized swimming–

(He's interrupted by a pillow hitting his face full force as Stan proceeds to verbally rip him a new one. The others watch stunned as Aster proceeds to continue his "story" with a grin)

I feel like the ones closest to him know that he's fucking, the dude absolutely loves his mom (annoying his mom is his love language, trust)

Hi Ilumi, I am so happy that I have found out that you have sent me an ask after I sent you mine! I am a bit hectic at the moment, but what can you do but march on.

Reading through the story, it reminded me of the Brother Bear scene very much. Y'know, the one where the old bear keeps telling others how she misses her dead husband, when actually he's not? Dunno why, that scene really resonates so much in here. As much as Stan really loves him, Aster's bullshit stories sometimes make him want to wrap his hands around his throat.

Given that he's such a skilled liar ('the apple never falls far from the same tree that it came from' as Aster would say), he must be a major pain in the ass for all of the half-siblings to play deception games with. Mama and the other Contracted would have many stories of him starting fights because of this.

And trust me, he would not try to pull this shit on Anne Nieve again (that is the correct name spelling, it was my fault for this error!). The last time he did that to her, she took Cleo and kicked him out of her apartment and made him stay outside through the night.

It was in November, with a snowstorm to boot.

Aaaaaaa Angel I completely apologize for how long it took!! I had no idea for what the colours should be much less the background ｡⁠:ﾟ⁠(⁠;⁠´⁠∩⁠`⁠;⁠)ﾟ⁠:⁠｡ so I apologize if the colours look bland!!

I wanted to show Stanley experiencing his young body once again, kind of leaving his old body like a cocoon (insect parallelism my love), kind of implying that he literally had to rip himself out of his aged body. I feel like even if he had some kind of resentment for it because of what it represented (his low self esteem, the things he had to sacrifice, his body never actually being his), he would still treat it with some sort of respect, because it's still him. It shows the things that he endured and suffered, it's still a part of him.

Him being surprised, still hurting and a bit disoriented at his surroundings, but looking at himself because- it's him. And he's still processing what's happening, almost blind from the bright light in the room, covered in blood and scars, discovering his own body again, but it's him. He's finally comfortable in his own skin, shedding his old self and the pain that others incited on it, a new story to make, something influenced by his own choices. He's still hurting, maybe he always will, but the pain will lessen and he's free now.

Aaaaaa I'm so sorry for my ramblings!! I absolutely adore Mama!Stan as a character! Go white boy, give us trauma give us pain (and please, go to therapy. Seriously you're worrying everyone here dude). I'm so excited for whatever you have planned (I've SEEN that little teaser of the better world, Angel!! guess who’s still fixated on pregnant Stan, have some teen mom Stan ramblings that randomly originated at 3AM

Stan bringing his kid to school because the babysitter bailed out last minute and like hell he’s going to leave his baby all alone (or god forbid, call his parents). So he sucked up the embarrassment and brought them with him. To school. To his classes. Where his classmates and teachers saw him. In the 60s.

Everyone is surprised at that. Well- Stan was a bit of a delinquent, but to actually mess up that bad??? That resulted in a literal child????? And from a quick look at him, he clearly doesn’t have a ring on him, which is enough to get people whispering and glaring at him. Some of the teachers even do a double take to confirm that they’re actually seeing correctly, others stare bewildered and others say about how “it was only a matter of time for him” because of his behaviour. The only one that doesn’t seem to care much is Ford, even letting the babe play with his fingers.

They expect the baby to be a nuisance ofc, already pointing fingers and laughing at the “new parent” in their class. Stan wants to bury himself in a hole at that. But surprise-surprise, his baby mostly sleeps through the entire ordeal. Chubby face pressed comfortably in the crook of their mama’s neck, soft snores leaving their body as a tiny hand grips Stan’s white shirt. After some time, Stan gets comfortable even, writing his lessons (since he can’t exactly not pay attention as he used to do) and holding his baby close to his body, absently smiling at their cooing noises, whispering reassurances to them if they get fussy and kissing their tiny forehead every now just because he can and he wants to hear his baby giggles. The class is quieter than normal, but he has better things to focus on now.

Listen, no one wants to get associated with someone who’s considered “worthless” by the then-society’s standards, but the baby is cute. Especially after he woke up, big brown eyes taking in the new place, giving a gummy smile and laughing at anyone that looked or interacted with them. At lunch, some people approach the twins, asking them - mostly Stan - about the kid. Stan puts on the suave charm, answering and effortlessly dodging some questions - and he definitely shows his kid ofd. C’mon, his kid is adorable.

Crampelter unfortunately hears the rumors. Stan??? Is a dad??? And he brought his brat to school??? He’s hounding and throwing every single insult at them. Stan, bc of his baby, tries to ignore the jeers. Until Crampelter popped a bag full of air near him. His kiddo is startled, whimpering as tears swell in their eyes, quickly burrowing and hiding their face in Stan's shirt, wanting to get away from the noise and for their mama to comfort them.

Ford comforts his sobbing nibling while Stan beats the shit out of Crampelter in the cafeteria. No one intervenes because Crampelter bullies everyone there and also because “listen dude we know you’re an asshole but scaring a baby???? Deadass????” which stains his reputation even more and keeps him on the low for the rest of the day. The second Stan stops fighting he immediately goes to his baby, rubbing their tiny back and peppering the softest kisses on the top of their head. Mumbles of “it’s ok, kiddo, ma- papa’s here now”, running his thumb over their freckles, the softest smile on his face when his baby finally calms down – definitely ignoring his classmates stares.

The rest of the day goes swiftly, only Stan’s definitely clinging to his baby more now. Some teachers even offer to hold his kid so he can rest his arms for a bit.

The next day, some can’t help but feel a bit disappointed when Stan comes to the school with his arms empty - fortunately and unfortunately, the babysitter didn’t bail out.

That kind of becomes a habit, when Stan doesn't have time or the money to pay someone to look after his kiddo, he just- brings them with him. On snowy days, his baby looked like an angry burrito, with cheeks all puffed up as people and their mama laughed at them. In summer his baby’s out like a rock. Some of his teachers even give mock-exams to his kiddo to include him in the lesson. And in the rare occasions where his baby cries or needs to eat, his teachers let him leave the room or outright hold them while Stan finishes his things.

However, what gets all the teachers and students is how the baby adores the physics teacher. It was after the first time Stan bought his baby, when they had a physics class. The man walked into the class only to immediately stop in his tracks once he glanced in Stan's direction, letting out an amused laugh at the scene.

Kid on the other hand, was laughing and letting out the cutest gurgles, arms reaching out for the older man, wiggling in Stan's arms. And when Mr. Forrester decided to entertain them?? Kid was screeching in joy, holding the man’s extra finger with a strong grip, babbling and touching the man’s face; laughing when the teacher pressed them closer to his chest, nuzzling his nose on their little tuft of hair. 

People joked that the baby took after their uncle, some developed a stronger crush on the teacher after that. But the teasing got worse after one day, the baby excitedly called Mr. Forrester “papa” at the top of their little lungs, giggling at the man's wide eyes and silence, oblivious to the interruption they caused as they palmed his aged face. Stan was mortified, ignoring his peers' laughter as he took his baby back, letting out excuses and how “they only started talking recently”. Their teacher visibly held back a dopey smile for the rest of the day.

It’s only years later, in a high school reunion party, that they actually find out why exactly Stan’s kid was so obsessed with their physics teacher.

Also omg, Stan's fez symbol being broken D"": oh lord, really shows Aster's descent in his grief and the fall out of their family (completely comprehensible, poor boy). Stan was the only thing keeping them from killing eachother, now that he's gone?? There's no reason to play civil or house anymore, the only reason Aster even let that man into live in the house is gone, there's nothing worth fighting for in his universe anymore.

"They're still similars in different ways" AAAAAAAA EVEN IF HE HATES HIM HE'S STILL HIS FATHER'S SON. Omg the thought of having to accept that you and your piece of shit dad aren't that different. They both made deals, they both were willing to risk everything in order to gain (be it knowledge or vengeance, justice or "utopia", omfg both of them willing to lose their "humanity" if it meant for the "supposed better good". And Stan seeing them if he was alive MY GOD--). Also, Ford and Aster crying but both of them having different reasons??? Ford crying either for being possessed, regret, fear, or for Stan's death??? Aster grieving for his mother and father in one, the person who was always there for him, dying from a broken heart because of his father's ego. Thinking about him grieving for the father he never had - the same father who was their family's doomfall, I don't blame him one bit I would've crashed out too king.

I can't help but think, when he sees the other Stans and Fords, those who are happy and completely in love with eachother, with HIS counterparts in them, happy and secure, knowing that they're loved by their parents. Does he feel happy? Relieved? A bit envious because out of all these universes he was cursed to lose his family?? Does he think about his own Stan?? Does he think about the life his own Stan deserved and should have had?? Does he think about how Stan would've reacted/felt if he saw him now?? Does he think about how his mother would recognize him as his little boy or would he grieve him for what he's become?? Will he only get his happy ending after he dies (IF he dies)?? Does he ever reunite with his mama??

I can't help but feel so fucking sad for him bc omg, he just wanted his mom, he literally did everything that he did for him. He didn't even care about his dad or the portal, he did everything for his mother and he clearly misses Stan. My most normal reactions when I think too much about Aster:

I remember an ask that I have answered from @iluminated-goat and I want to show how the possessions of Ford and Aster would look like during Weirdmageddon.

As different as they claim to be, they are similar in different ways. I enjoy researching the secret codes and showing how they represent the voices that were locked away when Mama and Bill took over their bodies.

If Stan were to see them at this state, he'll never forgive himself and it'll end not in a good way for the entire family.

ANGEL I JUST READ "THE TALE OF TWO DARLANS" AND I CAME HERE A S A P (btw this will have SPOILERS bc I read it on my main and I'm too scared to comment there bc I don't have a side account there༎ຶ⁠‿⁠༎ຶ)

Not gonna lie, when I first saw the title I thought "huh, what a coincidence", and then I saw the author and brother the whiplash that I received I have so many thoughts about your writing!!!!

1) Stan and Ford being cute to eachother absolutely warmed my heart, take all my money

2) Ford having a shotgun under Darlan's crib (which is expected of him lmao, and also how he's protective of his baby and his love AAAAAA)

3) Aster, just-- Aster in general holy shit. Absolute mamas boy (and with reason, the poor guy). His design?? His powers?? His name meaning?? Can completely comprehend the man's hatred and want for vengeance, you go king (but even I felt bad for our Ford lmao. And also, him watching Ford in the hospital???? The attention to detail)

4) Cleopatra, absolute queen, we stan, I'm so curious about her!! Where did she come from?? How did Aster met her???

5) just one word: MAMA (I don't even know who you are - and I desperately want to!!!! - but I love you. Protective of Stan pines????? Me too queen, me too)

6) Also, are Aster's six green eyes a reference to the "Never Human Au" or is it just based on his appearance of Ford (individually, both are amazing details/references)

7) also the reference to A Tale of Two Stans??? You were absolutely COOKING with this one. The wait was definitely worth it!!! I'm so curious about what more do you have about them or if you will write about them, whatever you want to do I will inhale the shit out of it

I'm glad that you got your gift and it got me giggling with excitement when I see the notifications! I understand that you can't comment at AO3 if you don't have a second account, but I don't mind about it.

So let me help you answer some questions:

1) I want some more Stan and Ford fluffy as parents, so at times like this I gotta do things by myself hahaha! 🤣

2) Ford already being an overprotective parent, of course he's gonna have a weapon hidden in every corner of the house that he can quickly get access to during dangerous moments. Dude got literally 5 legal guns and maybe 20 more illegally.

3) Aster is the very first OC child that I've been thinking off for a while before I met both of you and @muchmallows . This man works at a local bookstore/library has a favourite black Stenton cowboy hat when going out to town, which annoys Ford a lot. Due to inbreeding, however, he has a weak heart condition.

As stated in the story, Aster was born sometime after the portal incident and was solely raised by Stan with the help of Abuela with Soos as his adopted sibling. As soon as he graduated high school, he joined the military and became part of the Special Forces during the Afghanistan war for several years until his injury in the right eye put him in honourable discharge.

He is very efficient in any weaponry, but he prefers knives over guns. Less noisier when taking down enemies. So during their custody escape, Aster went on a war crime massacre spree hacking off soldier after soldier giving Stan enough time to get the twins and opened the portal to bring Ford home.

But it was not all rainbows. His parents were constantly fighting and Ford constantly threatening to kick Stan out, until Stan ended up suffering a heart attack and fell into a coma. He became hostile towards Ford after that without any mercy but only act civil just for the sake of the kids.

When Weirdmageddon broke out, he was visiting Stan at the hospital, where he died from a broken heart. It was at the moment he made contact with Mama and with her help, she is able to get past the barrier and ends Weirdmageddon by sending both Ford and Bill into the Dark Forest, since the ritual is considered null when Stan died.

After Weirdmageddon is over, he passes over the Mystery Shack ownership to Soos and leaves Gravity Falls after the funeral and the twins went back home, advising them to never part from one another like what his parents did.

He spends the rest of his life travelling the multiverse as a mercenary, hunting down Fords that hurt their Stans. Consider him as the Deathstroke of this au.

4) Cleopatra the six-eyed Devon Rex is his beloved pet companion that he raised since it was a kitten. He found her while he was at the town getting groceries. According to the Kitten Distribution rule, once a kitten sticks to you, they own you. Plus, she's a useful mascot to the business and the family's darling sweetheart pet (except Ford).

So the AU Ford would really have a Vietnam flashback when he sees Darlan bring home a six-eyed kitten and is very torn about it, but in the end he became the parent that spoils the pet rotten just like Stan did with Waddles.

5) And Mama - the elusive being that Aster made a contract with. Most of her contractors refer to her as Mama, but that's not her real name. If asked, she reveals her middle name is Evangeline and that's it.

Originally from a world that has now been absorbed into the Void, she is one of the many beings that reside in the lightless realm and the ruler of the Dark Forest (for clearer understanding see the Dark Forest theory), a territory of brambles, briar thorns, snow and beasts that evolved itself to survive against each other.

She is know to stalk her targets that she pities and favours due to the target's unfavourable circumstances, no matter the age, befriending them and caring for all of their needs and loving them unconditionally, whispering promises of happiness and love before she whisks them away, mostly resulting in the target's death. She desires not for power, domination; but love and family.

Unlike Bill who needs a portal to enter another dimension, she can travel easily through the shadows, though she requires a partial sacrifice (a drop of blood is enough) to officially cemented her presence physically.

She is rarely found in human history and myths because she is very much likes her privacy, but can be hinted through lullabies and urban legends.

If Bill Cipher is both a god and a demon, therefore she is both a goddess and an angel; his polar opposite. If fire is his element, then water is hers.

The rose mark tattoo on Darlan's neck is the sign of her claim over him, it acts as a conduit for him to utilise her powers but at the same time restrains him with a briar collar to keep him in line from acting irrationally.

6) Aster's six eyes scene is inspired from the many fanarts of Bill possessing Ford. I extensively checked which eye represents Bill during this moment and most artists depict Bill's eye is on the right.

The loss of right eye is also symbolic to Aster, signaling of his sacrifice to sate his revenge against Ford and that he has nothing else to lose when the only person that matters to him is dead.

So if you do a half-and-half image of the possessed Ford and Stan/Aster, Bill represents the right side while Mama represents the left.

7) I always struggled with thinking for the perfect titles to my stories, that title was a last minute because I want to upload it immediately 😅

I really want to see how Aster interacts with the other AUs of Stan and Ford with their kids (no doubt Aster would be nice to them, except Ford, he will have problems with any Fords). Doesn't matter if it's art or fanfic, I'll always deliver!

NOW TO THE LORE BABY! I wanted to explore more of Stan's relationships here, and how he ended up getting them (since he's living in Gravity Falls

Begrudgingly allies to queer platonic Fiddlestan my beloved. Ford and Fiddleford's fallout doesn't start outright with the portal, rather than Fidd's apprehension about it and Ford's "Muse". Needless to say, they have some arguments and discussions about it, some harsher than normal. At some point, Fidds just goes away from the Shack and goes to Stan to distract himself/calm down; mostly bc Stan's the closest and they're on deeper speaking terms. Not friends, but not strangers either; Fiddleford just need someone relatively normal now.

Stan's awkward as hell about it, he doesn't know much about Fiddleford, being on arms length with the man. Having someone breaking down in front of you and in your home while you're trying to sleep with someone kicking your bladder is... Hard. But listen, he's been on the far end of the stick too many times, and he knows that being alone with your thoughts is a dangerous thing - much less in that state. So, hesitantly, he lets him stay for the night, which turns into a week, which turns into when he's actually stable to leave-

So slowly, they form this camaraderie, slowly getting to know each other (mostly on the left foot bc Stan's still too hesitant to open up/casually meet people and Fiddleford is just too... nice).

Needless to say, Stan is not having that shit. He may or not be projecting but he is not letting this fact just fly away to the sun and evaporate like nothing, he has Fidds almost hound his family to come to Gravity Falls or to at least make sure to visit them (not just calls). Fuck him, Stan will take the risk of having his throat slit while they stay in his house just so they can be together (Ford is definitely NOT clawing at walls with jealousy and envy that Fiddleford got closer to Stan first)

And also because I'm a firm believer and lover of Stan having girl/female friendships, no I will not elaborate. And because I love Emma-May and Tate (I definitely need to draw them more), idk why but I feel like they would be a cool team these two (and because they have fluffy hair, but that's another story). Stan becoming an honorary uncle to Tate and taking care of him whenever his parents have to work or rest (plus, he's kinda preparing for his little one too, and Little Tate is just too cute for him to handle).

So while he has a somewhat established relationship with the McGucket's (and then slowly adopting him in their circle), Ford and Stan are still... tolerable, rough on the corners. They talk, but it's not the same. Both of the want to reconnect, they feel that want to be close again, even if it's not the same as before. The thing is that both of them are too stubborn/afraid to do so, plus, they're both leading their lives in different ways, how would that work? Plus, they don't even know each other anymore after their separation, how much did they change after there 10 years?

And Bill isn't helping the case, at all. Stan doesn't even know the guy, but the dude just decided that he wants him dead. Stan doesn't trust him. For as much as he respects and loves his brother, nothing will ever make him want to be in the same room as that thing. It makes too much promises and says just the right things to make you fall right on their hands, it makes him uneasy and bring back memories he'd rather not discuss.

A bit of info: the astronaut comes from the phrase "your mother's an astronaut", which means she was a drug addict while pregnant and her child came out with birth defects. Yeah, those two fucking hate each other - the problem is that Stan will bite back and not take his shit (he can insult him all he wants but the moment he even talks about his baby the restraint is out the window). As much as he wants to hit him, he doesn't want to injure his brother (as hard as that is) and Cipher doesn't harm him physically because Ford would lose some trust in him and that would attract too much attention, so verbal jabs it is.

The thing is that after some time, Stan just see Bill as this... Bratty kid. Throwing a tantrum anytime things don't go his way, and that's simultaneously terrifying and hilarious considering he's a god-knows-how-old demon with the power to bend their reality. Sometimes he can't help but just, lock him in place or speak to him in this tired voice because "dude I just want to raise my kid and I'm trying to sleep, you're making noise, you're not being scary you're just being an asshole. And quit hurting yourself I'm the one that's doing your bandages and that's not even your body your asymmetrical bastard".

So while Ford doesn't wake up to Bill's true intentions, someone has to keep the reins in the Shack and occasionally, MYSTERIOUSLY, slow down the construction of the portal. He has Bill fuming while angrily flipping medical book pages to see what could cause a miscarriage or birth defects (it doesn't work and that makes him want to scream).
