Accidentally peaked after such a long artblock
“Lemme go!” Hero slurred, “your restraints can’t hold me forever!”
Villain pinched the bridge of their nose. The “restraints” Hero was referring to were a couple of soft, plush blankets tucked tightly around their shivering body. Hero was currently laying in Villain’s bed, and they were as sick as a dog. Villain put a hand to Hero’s forehead. Still feverish. That might explain the delirium.
“Hero, I haven’t captured you,” Villain said, “you’re at my base because you’re sick and no one was taking care of you, remember?”
“Lies!” Hero yelled hoarsely, “I’ll have you behind bars when I get out of this!”
“I’m sure you will,” Villain sighed, “but until then, how about you take some medicine for me, yeah?”
Villain sat Hero up against the pillows and poured some medicine onto a spoon.
“Open up,” Villain said.
“I’m not going to let you poison me!” Hero said weakly, “I- mmph!”
Villain shoved the spoon into Hero’s mouth.
“Good, now swallow,” Villain said.
“Mm-mm!” Hero shook their head vigorously.
“Hero, if you don’t swallow the medicine, I’ll… I’ll kidnap someone for ransom!”
Hero’s eyes widened. After a couple of seconds, they swallowed the medicine.
“Your poison tastes terrible,” Hero said.
“Medicine, Hero,” Villain corrected, “I need that fever of yours to break, now try to get some sleep.”
Villain laid Hero back down in the bed. Hero’s eyes remained stubbornly open.
“Hero.”
Hero glared up at Villain. Villain struggled to stay calm. How long was this delirium going to last? Villain absent-mindedly ran a hand through Hero’s hair while they tried to think. Was drugging them an option? Villain could always crush up some sleeping pills and slip them in some tea, but then again, it was a fight just to get Hero to take their medicine. Maybe a round of hypnosis? No, that probably wouldn’t work either.
“Hhng,” Hero whined.
Startled, Villain looked down at Hero.
“What’s wrong?”
“Don’ wanna sleep,” Hero yawned, “you can’t… make me.”
Something glinted in Villain’s eyes as realization hit them. They continued to card their hand through Hero’s hair, their touch feather-light.
“S-stop it,” Hero said, their voice barely audible and their eyes blinking heavily.
“Oh, I don’t think I will,” Villain whispered, “you need to sleep. I wonder what would happen if I just…”
Villain started to lightly massage Hero’s scalp, giving them gentle scratches all the way to the nape of their neck. Hero fought to keep their eyes open, but they shortly fluttered closed. Hero’s breathing became deep and even; they were fast asleep. Villain smiled. They leaned down and kissed Hero’s forehead lightly, careful not to wake them. They petted Hero’s hair for a few more minutes until they quietly got up and left the room. Hopefully, Hero would be more lucid when they woke up.
part 2
The little kid finally bought a camera to figure out why his closet was always making noises in his sleep
His breath hitched when he saw a figure far from human leave his closet and stand over his bed for hours
but never went back into the closet
I absolutely adore your work and was wondering if you could do some terrifying monster under the bed protecting a kid from his horrible parents??
tw: child abuse
Child let out a horrified sob and scrambled to slam the door behind him. Tears flooded down his cheeks and they desperately tried to nudge his bookcase in front of the door, hearing the sound of his parents footsteps hammering up the steps.
His father’s violent shouts, accompanied by his mother’s equally as vicious words.
He used all of his weight until they were sure enough the door was covered, before darting over to his bed as bangs resounded against the wood.
“Open the door!” His father screamed, his fists smacking against the wood and shaking it terribly. Child once again fumbled on his feet, knees weak, trying to find someplace to hide.
He could hear the vile promises his parents were making, causing the child deep dispair as he bumped against the edge of his bed and pressed his small hands over his ears, disintegrating into more sobs.
His body ached at the thought of answering to his father’s belt and his mother’s harsh hand, his cheek already stinging from the impact of one of her furious outbursts already.
The door shook and the bookcase wobbled in danger, books toppling onto the ground. Child pinched his eyes shut and begged for anybody to help him, to stop his parents from hurting him. He didn’t want to be hit, or yelled at, or called horrible names.
Something tugged on his ankle and Child’s eyes popped open, lurching away from the bed with a fright. With tear filled eyes, the child looked down in horror to see a hand protruding from under the bed. It was an inky black, so dark you wouldn’t even see it in the darkness.
It was too big for a human hand, and it’s fingers were long, sharp claws, holding out to the child for him to take. Child let out a horrified shriek when the door rattled and almost splintered, the loudest bang of them all piercing through their skull.
Child was paralysed with terror, and when he looked down towards the bed, there seemed to be a darkness oozing from the edges like a fog, and the outstretched hand inched closer towards him.
“Come.”
Child winced at another loud bang, and he didn’t think twice. He clasped the monsters hand in his own as tightly as he could, and gave a surprised yelp when he was dragged under the bed. The carpet rubbed against his skin and he was plunged into a sea of inky black, his heart rate picking up.
He clawed through the air and tried to crawl away, but something large wrapped around his wrists and gently pulled him back, cradling him against something warm and comforting.
“Hush.”
Child whimpered, his eyes darting through the darkness in fear. He could see two bright glowing eyes staring at him in the dark.
“I’m not going to hurt you.”
There was a crash and Child almost let out a scream when he heard his parents come barrelling in. Their shouts bellowed and the child buried his head into the huge chest, feeling long arms wrap around him in a comforting manner.
He heard glass shattering and heavy objects thundering against the floor. His parents footsteps hammered against the carpet, and Child gave a trembling whimper when he sensed his father gripping the edge of the bed, and peer underneath.
“No, no, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry...”
The words spilled from his lips and the darkness almost coiled around him protectively, keeping him hidden. His father let out a venomous scowl and smacked his fists against the mattress.
“Little bastard...”
Child expected a hand to grab him by the ankles and drag him out, but to his surprise, his father rose straight back to his feet, like he’d never seen him. The child whimpered softly and a cold claw caressed his cheek, wiping away the flood of tears.
“You’re safe with me, little one,” the monster cooed gently, the darkness flowing gracefully. “Don’t cry.”
Child heard more shouts, but they were considerably fainter. He cracked open an eye and glanced out of from under the bed, unable to see his parents in his room anymore. He sniffled and winced when the darkness around him shifted, curling around his body, guiding him out.
Child clambered out from the ground and shakily dragged himself back onto their feet, scrubbing his face. He turned around to see the claw reaching upward, gently stroking his hand.
“Thank you...” The child breathed, curling his small fingers around the monster’s hand. The darkness leaked out from the edges, and he saw those two eyes appear again.
“I will be here whenever you feel unsafe,” the monster whispered, slithering back under the bed. Child was reluctant to let go of its hand, but it withdrew quickly and left him all alone.
He wiped his nose and scurried off to close his door quietly, grateful for whatever strange creature had made its home underneath his bed.
“Human? Aren’t you coming?” One of the monsters asked, questioning the human they had rescued and invited to their nest. “It will be a cold night.”
“O-Oh, I’ll be fine. No uhm- No need to worry…” Human trailed off, sitting down in the corner of the nest and wrapping a blanket around themself.
A different monster chirped at them, raising their arm and therefore the covers they were lying under. “Come along, Human. You’re more than welcome to join.”
The human was hesitant, but slowly crawled over and settled beside the others. They let out a surprised squeak when one of the monsters pulled them into the middle of the cuddle pile. “Uh… Thank you…”
The monsters purred in unison, the closest one whispering in their ear. “You’re welcome, Human.”

Aaaa i really hope you'll be able to get in there. Vgen is such a cool website and I also want to get on there because this is genuinely such an amazing thing for artists
Hi! I usually just post fanart here and only ever ramble through the tags, but this is important for me, so please read
TL; DR is that I need this post to reach 100 likes and 5 unique comments in order to be accepted into VGen. Here's the full explanation:
I've been drawing seriously for about 9 years now (here are some examples)
For all this time, I've only ever done commissions to people I've known personally, but after all this time I feel like I've gotten to the level where I feel confident about beginning to try to work with this and go after my dreams
After some researching I found out about VGen - a site design to help both artists find clients and to help people to not end up scammed by fakers. I found it great, but issue is that getting in VGen as an artist can be hard. I'm not friends with anyone who's in so I cant ask for a code directly, I tried the contest but it didn't work out and I don't want to have to rely purely on luck - this is where you come in!
Another way of being approved is sending in a post with the tag and having it reach 100 likes and 5 unique comments. I don't like asking for engagement, but Tumblr is the platform I've done the most numbers on and I feel like this is easier than spending months trying to win at the contest
Any reblog or like genuinely means the world to me and it only takes a few moments of your time. Alternatively, if you're in VGen and have a spare code, I'd be eternally grateful if you were so kind to share it
If this doesnt work, I'll probably just keep adding the tag to my next posts until something eventually gets there. Regardless, if you read this far, thank you
