its important to me as a detrans woman to be vocal about it. its important to me as a detrans woman who initially only had radfems to talk to about detransition, because i couldnt find a single trans inclusive detrans person for over a year, to make sure other people know they have options.

radfems arent your aly if you're questioning your gender. they dont have your best interest at heart. they dont care about helping you explore who you are, theyre only interested in sucking you in to be another transmisogynistic pawn for their violent ideology.

Nico going nuts over pride month headcannons let's GOOOOOOOOO

Okay so Nico wasn't really familiar with the concept of pride month, like at all, he had no idea what it was

So one day Will was casually like huh pride is just around the corner and Nico's like??? Pride? Who's pride?? And Will's like OH GOD you don't know what Pride is?

And so he sat him down and told him everything and Nico was like gonna lose his shit because he was so excited. A month?? Dedicated to the gays?? The homosexuals?? That sounded like heaven to him. He read like a bazillion pride articles on the interweb because he was just bouncing with energy.

He ordered loads of rainbow stuff, streamers and balloons and flags, oh god the flags, and he completely covered his room with them, and then he covered the Apollo cabin because yes <3

And everyone at camp was just as excited, because a large part of them belonged to the lgbtq+ community and they always celebrated pride in a really fun way

Nico was probably the most excited tho, but he was also a little bit nervous because he wasn't really used to celebrating his sexuality and it was kinda hard after being closeted for so long but Will helped him with that

Believe it or not but Dionysus is intricate in celebrating pride at camp, it's the one occasion that he really loves and wants everyone to have a good time so he plans it all to the T as they say, and the first time he came to camp he was like y'all don't celebrate pride????? How do you live?? Peasants. And then he started the whole thing of celebrating pride at camp

They try and decorate all the cabins with themes being a certain sexuality, like they decorate cabins dedicated to certain sexualities and it's like a fun healthy competition

The Iris Cabin turn everything rainbow but everyone is okay with that <3

And Nico hasn't felt this happy and included in ages, he's like thriving and having so much fun that he's literally like why the fuck are we getting only one month???? We deserve half the year! And everyone's like yes.

rick's books have a not-okay amount of racism, perpetuation of harmful stereotypes, and misrepresentation in them. grow up and accept it. rick's a white man who does not understand what it is to be a poc or a minority or lgbtq+, the least he could have done was his fricking research, but the truth is that he didnt and you need to deal with it. calling the people who are a) misrepresented in the books and b) accepting these facts, calling them haters is just on a different level of immature.

recently one of my posts about being a trans man and casually interacting with another trans man got about 90,000 notes and the tags and comments are full of ‘too pure for this earth’, ‘i’m a dirty sinner i don’t deserve to read this post’, ‘adorable cute sweet precious boys’ despite the fact that it’s mentioned that i am in college and not a child in the post and you all need to think about how some trans men do not want to be referred to that way and being okay with being referred to that way is pretty much exclusively a young teenager tumblr thing that makes a lot of guys uncomfortable. i’m just a man. none of this is necessary and it’s very performative, but…

along with this infantilizing, with this obsession with the proposed purity of another man and myself just for existing, there’s also dehumanization that comes with it, for example:

somewhere along the post, someone decided it would be a good idea to add, ‘all i can imagine is two eldritch horrors trying to get their voices as horrifying and fucked up as possible’ (not exact quote but that’s the gist of it)…

and someone decided that it would be a good idea to take my experience, wildly change the context and make a FANFIC, on MY OWN POST, of two eldritch MONSTERS upset because their voices didn’t sound ‘as horrific’ as the ‘monsters’ around them, and bonding over it together. nowhere in this fanfiction was being trans mentioned.

this is, quite possibly, the most horrifying thing someone has added to one of my posts and going beyond dehumanizing my experiences as a trans man enjoying my voice getting deeper, but also writing a fanfiction onto the post that changed the context of ‘two trans men finding validation between one another and our voices’ into ‘two monsters are sad they’re not scary enough and bond over trying to be scary together’. i shouldn’t have to explain how horrible that is for me to read, and how horrible it is to see that added on my own post & circulated through hundreds with no criticism.

quite frankly, it’s devastating to see how people talk about and interact with trans men. we are either children who must be protected and are weak and vulnerable and ‘too pure’, or we are fuel for your fanfics that completely strip us of our humanity. i consent to neither and if you think that any of these things are okay to do to a complete stranger, all you’re doing is patting yourself on the back for your performative ally points while making trans men uncomfortable with sharing their experiences and talking about their lives and trying to be happy with themselves. stop it. 

thinking about “you haven’t met all the people who will love you” and like!!! you also haven’t found all the things that will make you happy!!!! there will always be new authors and musicians and artists whose work you will one day discover and love!!!! there will always be new hobbies and skills for you to learn and feel fulfilled by!!! there will always be new things around the corner that will bring sudden and unexpected happiness!!!!!!!!!!!
