I really deeply appreciate the storytelling craft that has gone into ensuring that David Tennant is the Doctor forever, and can appear at any time without requiring weird timeline shenanigans. This is fan service, yes, but I'm certain the #1 fan this is servicing is in fact David Tennant.
This post on r/AmItheAsshole (and the OP’s follow-up responses) have me cry-laughing – please enjoy
i am actually kinda mad capes and cloaks are no longer widely accessible. like who gave you the right to make what's essentially a socially acceptable comfort blanket go out of fashion? smh.
on my shittake again, ignore it
The most painful part of The Martian was that, despite being millions of miles from home with little chance of survival, Watney was still expected to respond to emails
when the player character finds my skeleton in the apocalypse and loots my body for an area map they’ll just find the Din/Geralt/Boromir/Gale babygirl diagram
eggs are most delicious when least touched by fire (so poached, sunny side up, etc declining in quality to over easy, hard boiled). this is because fire cleanses the egg of sin (primary source of flavor). this is also why the objectively most delicious egg is soft boiled (hardened purified exterior traps the delicious sin inside the soft gooey interior), and why scrambled eggs are morally ambiguous
have you ever read an erotica novel with a plot far too involved for its own purpose because let me tell you,
Like I’m not saying erotica shouldn’t have a GOOD plot. A lot of people want that.
But for me, if the plot’s overall purpose in a novel is to move you from sex scene to sex scene, I need the sex scenes to have narrative cohesion with that plot, if that makes sense.
Instead, I just read a series recommended by a friend with a plot so in conflict with the many, many sex scenes that I was descending into madness.
Every time the characters started making out I was like oh my god you guys do NOT have time for this. How could this possibly be on your mind in this moment!!!!!!!!
It was a murder mystery and also sort of a survival thriller and author would build up the biggest most time sensitive life or death stakes and you’d be on the edge of your seat and then you’d just be in a sex scene like HUH
I ended up so compelled by the plot that I read all four books in two days. I started just skipping all the sex scenes by the end of book two because I needed to know what happened next.
I felt like I was reading two different stories. The overall reading experience was deeply funny honestly but I’m hiring a personal injury lawyer for the whiplash
