First of all I’ve been rewatching otgw for five years I can’t believe I never picked up on this, second of all ouch

Here are the only two times where Wirt refers to Greg as his brother in all of Over the Garden Wall. 

Before the end of Episode 9 and Episode 10, the way we knew Wirt and Greg are brothers is because that’s how the other characters called them and because that’s how Greg called Wirt. Compare and contrast:

It’s pretty subtle. I’m on like my fifty billionth rewatch and I only now thought of that. Wirt never, like, denies it when people call him and Greg ‘Brothers’, he just avoids using it himself until the last episodes when he realizes how much he fucked up with Greg.
