8. What are their most prominent memories of each other?

Edward’s most prominent memory of Bruce is probably the scene in his debut episode, “If You’re So Smart, Why Aren’t You Rich?” where Batman solves the riddle at the middle of Riddler’s labyrinth. I have billions of eyes, yet I live in darkness. I have millions of ears, yet only four lobes. I have no muscles, yet I rule two hemispheres. What am I? Bruce answers the brain, because it metaphorically meets all the requirements, but also because it’s the “only thing Edward Nygma respects,” which is what I always think of when I read Batman Adventures #11 and Eddie claims “no one else gets me!”

Bruce’s most prominent memory of Edward is probably from Batman Adventures #2, the beginning of Riddler’s Bill-Gates-tech-mogul style reform in the extended comics, during the period where Ra’s al Ghul was sending assassins to kill all of Batman’s villains as a “favor” to Bruce. Edward is initially pleased when Bruce comes to his rescue, but then has a mental break over how being “riddled with bullets” would have been a better end to the Riddler than whatever ignoble fate he’ll meet now that he’s reformed. I don’t think it’s an interaction Bruce would forget easily, even once Edward stabilizes in later issues.

What is this book about?

- This book is a fan-made/fanfiction sequel to my favourite movie of all time, The Thing, featuring original characters, a new setting, etc. I will try to keep it as canonical as possible as far as the world-building goes, so this will only exclude the lore of The Thing video game. The obvious reason why I’m doing this is because my fan-made sequel only applies as a continuation of the movie, and that the video game canonically takes place afterwards.

Are there any content warnings?

- Although this book is generally SFW and it is still in its early stages (before the horror happens), I would still recommend it to older audiences due to its violent and descriptive nature. There will be no sexually explicit material covered beyond a possible joke or two, but I will still make a list of triggers due to a plethora of other and just as serious reasons.

1 - Body horror: there will be plenty of detailed descriptions about everything gross happening.

2 - Addiction: certian characters express traits such as smoking, alcoholism and pain med abuse.

3 - Extensive injury: things such as impalement, incineration, getting stabbed and shot, etc.

4 - Death: your favourite character will probably end up brutally dying (but no guarantees).

5 - Mental illness: things such as depression, isolation and wanting/committing suicide.

Sounds awful… where can I read it?

- So far I only have the first chapter up and at ‘em on Quotev, which you can read by clicking here. I’m not the fastest writer in the world, but I do have a half-chapter that I can upload just in case people start invading my house to make me write more.

- I also plan to start uploading my book here on Tumblr in what I will refer to as chunks as soon as I get everything else sorted out, and eventually there will be a list of links to every chunk I post.

- And finally, I plan to post this on ao3 whenever my invite eventually comes, so look forward to seeing it on there if that is your preferred fanfiction website.
