This Has Aged Very Very Well

This has aged very very well

not ready for the moment we actually see Penelope in Epic. because if the first time we see her is also the first time Odysseus sees her I will walk into a river

Because my brain isn’t decomposing fast enough with all of my Odyssey content, I have decided to make a playlist for songs that remind me of Odysseus.

So far I only have two songs, but I’m trying to expand on this playlist and am inquiring on any recommendations. I will have at minimum one Epic song I just don’t know which one yet.

For vibe example the two songs I’ve got are Leave a Light On by Papa Roach, and Ulysses by Josh Garrels.

I will be taking as many recommendations as I can

90BUCKS FOR PHYSICAL IS AWFUL

Nintendo my darling you’re getting a bit too confident with those prices why don’t you lower them and then we can talk?

Do you mates think Odysseus or Telemachus will use the “close your eyes and spare yourself the view” line with Penelope before or after the uuuuh suitor slaughter?

My current goal for art is to try and figure out how to properly draw men. When the day comes that I unlock that skill, I can finally draw Odysseus King of Ithaka and no one will be able to stop the next step of my brain decomposition. I don’t have a name for it yet but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it

Seriously if anyone has tips for actually drawing men please let me know-

Current lineup for favorite Ithaca Saga songs follows in this order if anyone wants to hear my opinion (if not that’s ok too)

Also spoilers technically⚠️

1. The Challenge - it’s just good. I have no comments, Penelope slays.

2. Odysseus - The suitor slaughter was done very well. It properly encapsulated how 100% done Odysseus is

3. Would You Fall In Love With Me Again - I sobbed hysterically. Need I say more.

4. I Can’t Help But Wonder - sobbed the first time. It’s a beautiful moment between father and son, and hey, welcome back, Athena.

5. Hold Them Down - Ayron slayed with that song but it’s really REALLY dark (which is good they didn’t stray away from the source material)

Please note I loved every song, it’s just that some of these will be out on endless repeat more than others.

Hey

You mates think that Odysseus’ voice is a bit hoarse or gravelly from shouting to fleets for 20 years of his life?

Just curious

I kid you not I sobbed when reading Gathering of Shades. I think if Achilles and Pat showed up in The Underworld I would’ve lost it.

EPIC: The Musical except Achilles and Patroclus exist and/or are mentioned directly.

Valid. I’d also love sit Jorge down and ever so kindly ask him 100+ questions abt Epic. Like yes, yap to me about your massive 3 year long project please. Yap about the decisions you’ve made for Odysseus’ narrative. Tell me why you picked certain instruments for certain characters. Tell me why you removed certain characters and arcs like Lucothea and Nausica. Yap to me for hours on end about all of the cut songs you have stashed away, tell me what it was like writing for these 3 to 4 years. Tell me how many times you’ve had to check and double check the Odyssey and how intently it needed to be studied for this musical to happen.

Oh to be able to sit down with Jorge Rivera-Herrans and absolutely bombard him with so many questions about Epic. Guys I’m currently about to get my Ancient World Studies honours and double major in drama that’s really interested in literature, how receptions shape the public opinions about said literature, and how people go about making these decisions this like my thing and I love Epic SO MUCH. You don’t understand how much this MEANS TO ME
