You came back! I realized while writing the PiNe post that my most recent artist post was this one, so I updated it in case anyone came back and looked. Since then, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite came out and Wave gave it the Meowvel treatment.

This is the theme for Hurricane Polimar’s second stage. I’m not sure if I have the correct composer for this track.

Lyre Le Temps takes the electro swing sampling of Caravan Palace and Parov Stelar even more mainstream, and it sounds like a million dollars. This song, Prohibition Swing, twists electro swing into an upbeat modern pop song with a great hook. Other tracks push further into hip hop, rock, and industrial styles. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear this band at a party someday.

Yesterday, we lost a local legend. Moses “Laoshu” McCormick was a giant among polyglots, having developed his own Foreign Language Roadrunning method to practice and speak dozens of languages. He recently became internet famous for finding foreigners and surprising them with conversations in their native languages. I’m fortunate to have met Moses and Marcell at our local fighting game meetups and Asian Festivals, and I’m glad Moses could pass on his knowledge through his online courses.

Let’s try an audio post again. WayForward’s music composer Jake “virt” Kaufman has a series of great chiptune albums. FX4 plays like an adventure movie soundtrack with orchestral stylings and guitar riffs, but in authentic NES sound. If you can’t see the Bandcamp player, there’s a YouTube player below it that should work for everyone, even Facebook.
And now, the blog’s first block quote! From the source:
INTO THE RIFT Despite the hazards of deep-sea exploration and growing diplomatic unease, the salvage operation begins. The surface team is protected by a small fleet of hired mercenaries. Hours into the dive, they are suddenly attacked by an unknown military force, far better equipped than any provincial warlord. The attackers suddenly retreat, however, as soon as the news breaks that the wreckage has been secured.

If you still use screen savers, Columbus-based developer M \ K Productions has a good one for you. Nintendo Saver 2015 fills your monitors with several NES games. Each one is actually a fully-functioning NES emulator playing a replay that was recorded in UberNES, and if you like, you can pick up a gamepad and take over control of one of the games on the spot. The recorded replays include my Super Mario Bros 3 playaround and a couple shorter videos showing glitches in Super Mario Bros 1 and Mega Man 2. If you like it, maybe I’ll record some more.

Look at the bands I listen to. I’m not picky. If they’ve got heavy riffs, serious skills, catchy melodies, and good variety, I’m in. Posting your entire album online helps too. Serbian rock band Destiny Potato hits on all sixes. Potatoes gonna potate.

Drop Rate has this super nice dude who plays Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 custom parks and some indie games. He has a knack for finding cool stuff, and he found my PS4 park, Donut Land! Um...I think I broke him. Sorry.

Now this is a hoverboard! Zapata Racing makes those water jetpacks for your feet, and now they’re cranking up the power and making a Flyboard that flies through open air. The Flyboard Air can apparently fly for 10 minutes at up to 93 mph and 10,000 feet. If even half of this is real, I want one last year.

A few days ago, Mystery Ben dropped the long-awaited third chapter, Hellbent. This fast-paced multi-level revenge quest goes above and beyond what anyone would expect from a music video. There are loads of callbacks to the first two videos. Please don’t make us wait two more years to resolve the next cliffhanger!
