My guess is that it contains the Master of Masters’ heartless.
If we assume the motive for his – in my opinion very questionable – actions is, well, scientific interest in the future, then we can conclude that the probability of him wanting to see that future for himself in person, or in fact, to change it to his liking, is quite high.
Now, we know time travel does exist in the Kingdom Hearts universe. The one, big restriction to it is the fact that a version of the person using it, must already exist in the time they wish to travel to. This also means, if one would find a way to create an immortal version of themselves, they could travel into every moment in the future.
To my knowledge, there never was any official statement about whether heartless die of natural causes or not, but I strongly assume they don’t, for various, obvious reasons. (One of them being that it would take the whole drama out of it, if people, who lost their hearts just randomly became “Somebodies” again after both their heartless and their Nobody died of old age.) More importantly though, we were told in the first game, that the only way to kill a heartless is the keyblade. Now, if we were to put a heartless in a place noone could find it, say, a box noone is ever supposed to open, then yes, we can assume this heartless would truly be immortal.
Creating a heartless out of one’s own heart might be a dangerous task, but I am sure it wouldn’t pose much of a problem to a person like the Master of Masters. Also, there seems to be a way to assure the Nobody resulting from extracting a heart would be a high ranked one, seeing how all of Ansem’s apprentices (as well as Lea and Isa, who lost their hearts in the same room, and therefore possibly also at the same time as the others) kept their human forms and memories. Of course the Master of Masters would know about this way, because the keyblade used was his “gazing eye” that allows him to see the future.
Oh, and would you look at which page the Master of Masters has so conveniently opened in the scene we get to see the box.
Plus, the page we are shown, when he explains why Luxu won’t get one of the Books of Prophecies. (*)
By “temporal paradoxes” he might have meant, that he fears Luxu might kill the heartless inside the box if he knew what future would await this world if he does as the Master of Masters tells him to. (**) Namely, not just one, but two keyblade wars.
I originally thought, that Master Xehanort might somehow be the one behind everything, but now I am certain that I was wrong. It’s not Xehanort who started all of this, he couldn’t have travelled into the past, because there was no version of him there. Also, he can’t be the Master of Masters, because we saw him being a child at the same time as Eraqus in the KH3 trailer and they certainly didn’t live since the age of fairy tales.
No, I assume that the brain behind all of it, our real antagonist in the Kingdom Hearts series, is not Xehanort, it’s the Master of Masters. He couldn’t have pulled all of this off alone though, because time is always limited when travelling into the future, so he needed a successor.
And Xehanort is the one he found.
(*) Of course, it would be possible to argue that the pages shown are mere coincidence, but I highly doubt that. Both of them were highlighted in the movie (especially the shadow heartless, you can’t overlook it even if you tried) and if it wasn’t for a reason, then why would they have done that?
(**) To be honest, I am a bit unsure about this part, because according to the movie, the Book of Prophecies ends with the beginning of the first keyblade war. Still, there has to be something in it that might give Luxu an idea about the future beyond the keyblade war or he couldn’t possibly cause any temporal paradoxes because of it. Alternatively, he may have been able to prevent the first keyblade war from happening, had he been in possession of the information from the book. I find that unlikely though, because Ira still fell for the Master of Masters’ scheme even with analyzing the book in painstaking detail. Perhaps even because of doing so.
Edit: The label on the box reads Xsuper (as can be seen here). Which contains parts of the word Superbia and an X. This might support the theory of the Master of Masters being a Nobody and the box containing his heartless. (Of course it could also mean, the box contains the Nobody and he is a heartless, but I think it makes more sense the other way around, as the Nobody is usually the entity who still looks and thinks like a whole person.)
Also, it could be totally unrelated to the whole theory, and the Master of Masters just wanted to mark his belongings, but I do believe, the fact that his name contains an X, where there isn’t supposed to be one, is a hint.
There are still two things that bother me about this movie.
The first one is the symbol both the Master of Masters and Luxu have on the zipper of their coats.
It reminded me of the Unversed insignia, but it might just as well be something completely new.
The second thing is the fact that the Master of Masters’ keyblade is called “No Name” in the movie. Maybe it wasn’t meant as a name by the characters (though it probably was by Luxu, see the capital letters), but it certainly has to be a hint for us. I can only guess, but I think it might have been meant to show the connection to Xehanort, seeing how the “real” No Name keyblade does look similar to the one used by the young Xehanort.

Flowers In My Heart 🌸🌾🌿🌼✨
(This is supposed to be the design for my business card, once I finally get myself to get some of my art printed haha)
Friendly reminder to the weather maker: It's still October and it would have been nice to have a bit more of ... you know, autumn.
(it was fun though to run and dance and skid on the snowy slippery road when I was coming home – sometimes I just forget that I am actually supposed to be an adult)
“I’m the one who killed my mentor.”
Happy UR-1 incident day (October 7, 2020)!! He knows what awaits him.
Oops, wrong door.
Another Magic drawing! Hello MtG fandom, I'm afraid I'm here to stay. But honestly, if nobody else wants to draw my special murderous boy I just have to do it myself.
(referring to this post)
So, I decided to do it like this from now on. Writing all the background info on my pictures in an extra post, rather than stuffing it into the caption. I just don’t feel very well when people reblog pictures with my sometimes very personal thoughts in the captions. It’s strange to see that on other people’s blogs. Also, this way I can write to my heart’s content. All of the unnecessary stuff noone wants to know anyway! <3 Yay.
(I’ll tag this as “dias art blabber”, by the way.)
So, let’s do this. Background infos, thoughts and close ups below the cut.
Starting Point // Summary? There were three reasons for this picture: a) another onset of winter in the midst of May gave me the right inspiration to finally get that spring flower thing out of my head; b) the nice tags by some people added drastically to that + someone wrote that they “miss miss miss” my art and apparently they only ever see my akusais, so here you go ;) ; and c) it’s my 78th post. It called for some AkuSai. -like stuff.
Finding the motif // flowers The basic idea behind this picture was Roxas with this flower. We call them Sky’s/Heaven’s Keys. (sky and heaven are the same word in German ... I guess it means heaven, but I always understood it as sky. When I was a child I’d always imagine flying and unlocking the sky with one of those flowers …) They are my absolute favourite spring flowers and I found them fitting for Roxas. Not just because of the name, but also on an emotional base.
I figured quiet fast that I should get Xion and Axel onto the pic as well. Xion would of course get Forget-Me-Nots. Which is not very creative, I guess. xD Yet so undeniably fitting. For Axel it was Cuckoo’s Flowers. One of the few pink things I liked as a child. Probably because it wasn’t some “girlish baby colour”, but a really hot pink that really sticked out. Aaaalso, cuckoos are brood parasites, not so sure how you think about that, but in my opinion that connotation suits Axel.
// the rest Still I didn’t know how to get that onto a picture. Until it snowed some day in the middle of May. This was exactly the input I needed. I just thought, that if the Sea Salt Trio was spring flowers, then Saix would be the snow. The last picture followed to bring the picture to an end. It seemed so unfinished, almost like a lie, with the three of them happy.
Upload // Or: Tumblr hates me I did really have a hard time uploading this thing. I literally tried everything. Even with the supposingly working size of 540 x 810 px the pictures were still blurry ... I even tried to reduce the height by cutting the pictures into parts. Still blurry. At some point I just decided that I didn’t care anymore. They are clear on my blog or when they are clicked. That’s enough.
Close Ups // I promised them and here they are! That’s about the size I worked on when I was colouring, the original sketches are waaay smaller, they are drawn on DIN A4 paper (see comparison in the end).
I like to set these two into some sort of ... contrasting parallels? Like, creating opposites, yet showing the similarities at the same time. Wow, does this even make any sense? xD I used more colour on the bottom of the last picture, because I really wanted the red to be strong there. That image is supposed to have a sad at first and then almost hateful atmosphere. I wanted it to have an unsettling effect when scrolling down (and letting it sink in, of course).
Axel looks like a flower himself. x’D Especially in those colours …
When my youngest sister saw the picture with the three of them she asked me, if they were marrying. x’D
Size comparison with the actual drawing; the flowers in their hands are like super mini tiny.
So, in case you did read this, thanks a lot! Would you mind letting me know what you think about it, please? Like, does it make sense to do this? What are the interesting parts? What is not? Anything else that you would like to know/see? Did you like the close ups?
Anyway, thank you very very much for showing interest! :D That’s basically the reason for me to finish pictures and put them up on here. You, that is.
One more thing about the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour. I can’t believe I didn’t hear about this before and I’m sorry if I’m spoiling anyone, but.
Akusai. There’s a hint in the concert. Kairi says that Lea “has a best friend to save”. Yes, that could be Roxas (it can’t be Xion, he still doesn’t remember her), but it would be such a strange way to say it if that was the case. It fits Isa just so much more. Maybe that’s just what I want to see, but ... ... well, yes, I really really want to see it like that. I want Lea to call Isa one of his best friends. I want him to save him. Please.
Di[e]ce Appreciation Week | Day 1: The Die is Cast.
Don’t leave me.
I love how you start reading Di[e]ce and you’ve got no idea what’s going on. The word itself isn’t even mentioned in the manga’s first volume and even later on, whenever it seems like things are getting clearer, they just don’t.
This manga turns everything upsidedown. The plot, the characters, their relationships … There’s just so much tension in this manga, it’s incredible.
Norted self-portrait to hide how terrified I am right now.
It’s so much better to joke about being turned into Xehanort, than to imagine all the reasons why my left eye may be changing it’s colour and what the strange, growing shadow on my throat is.
Cosplay shooting with friends! Big thanks to the one who talked me into cosplaying as well, rather than just taking photographs and who took those cool shots then!
By the way, cosplaying Saix on conventions is great! The reaction of other Kingdom Hearts fans is always amazing. Especially the Axel cosplayer are incredible nice and cool! … Is it just me or is AkuSai getting more and more popular?
Dia (she/her); I draw because I love it ✨ Enjoy your stay!
