this was the “proof” they claimed to have btw. like. you keep using that word I do not think it means what you think it means.
It's hilarious how you didn't respond to my ask, showing literal PROOF South Korea was a fascist dictatorship in its inception. Instead you claim the DPRK was somehow the fascist one
Look up Ilminism and Syngman Rhee :)
babe I went to bed I was going to respond in the morning. are you so obsessed with me that you can’t wait eight hours. (also you did not provide proof bbygirl. you just said it was true. that’s not proof. (although it doesn’t really matter because you weren’t making a super outlandish claim. Rhee’s dictatorship is established historical fact))
Trust me. I know about Rhee. I will be the first to point out that there was little to no difference between the South and the North during the Korean War. The difference is that the South reformed into a free Republic. The North did not. Had we not defended the South, it would have been absorbed and the whole peninsula would have stayed under dictatorial rule to this day.
Don’t believe me? Let’s look at another divided Cold War country where the UN was not quite as successful - Vietnam. Both sides of the Vietnam War were pretty brutal dictatorships (I would even argue that the South was worse.) And Vietnam remains under a one-party dictatorship to this day. Had the South remained free, I have no doubt that it would have reformed eventually, just as South Korea did, and by defending them we gave them that chance.
There is also such a thing as duty and right action. North Korea was the unlawful aggressor. Should we have simply sat back and appeased Kim Il-Sung as we did Hitler? I’m sure that no one would object to the West coming to Austria’s defence in 1938, even though Kurt von Schuschnigg’s government was effectively fascist. Or Poland - the Sanation Government of the Second Polish Republic was extremely autocratic. But when it was invaded by Germany and Russia, it was only right that we defended it.
Fascism cannot be defeated by sitting around twiddling our thumbs and waiting for the right nation to defend. Optics are and should be a non-consideration. The war is out there and we must fight it.
op, when you applied to university, were you disappointed that they didn’t have you go in seven potentially deadly quests instead of writing an essay? just asking.
Oblivion Mage Guild: You want to join our guild? Okay, I want you to go all of the 7 mage guilds in all of Cyrodill and get a letter of recommendation from them.

cant stop thinking about the yellowjackets cgs still being just teenagers . like yes, they take amazing care of the little’s but it takes the combined forces of Nat, Tai and Laura Lee to try and make a bottle for Lottie the first time. And little!van whining and rolling around because they are SO bored but Mama can’t play right now because she’s doing homework. Nat and Jackie are deep into a gossip session about someone from school who had a go at Lottie in the hallway and Lottie’s just sitting on Nat’s lap with her fingers in her mouth completely unaware of what they are talking about. Shauna, who is usually the go to for English assignments, being regressed and now they’re all just making up their essays and it’s not going to end well.

behold. nick carraway as a pigeon.
idk when this was written but it really illustrates well everything I hate about modern poetry.
first off. it’s prose. they’ve written prose and are trying to pass it off as poetry by adding a few line breaks. no, Mr. Sullivan. It’s not enjambment. It’s bad.
second. because it is prose there no music to it. no beauty. it’s just a straight sentence. nothing flows, nothing rhymes, there’s no beat or metre. poetry is supposed to be sung, to be performed in bombastic verses. If you read this out to a crowd, it would stir no hearts. send no thrills down spines.
third. the title also being the first line of the poem. this isn’t a genuine criticism but it’s a recent trend that annoys me to no end nonetheless.
fourth. the subject matter is dull. to me poetry should never be or deal in the mundane. it should speak to greater forces, grander actions. gods. spirits. war. revolution. patria. love. death. not a conversation with a gas station cashier. I am not excited or enchanted by this. my soul is not stirred. i’m just bored. mundanity is the eternal enemy of beauty and art.
every time I see Michael Collins I have to remind myself that people are usually talking about the astronaut and not the IRA leader. The curse of studying Irish history I guess…
Hello, tumblr user. Before you is a tumblr post asking you to name a female fictional character. You have unlimited time to tag a female character, NOT a male one.
Begin.
gotta love the genre of activism where indigenous people can only be respected if we make them out as some kind of übermensch

people who call him Mark Antony should be shot I think. he doesn’t work at the fucking Greggs down the street!!! he was a consul of Rome!!!
if you must shorten Marcus Antonius, then at least latinize it a bit! Make it Marc Antony! It looks so much better!
