“real actual silverware? damn, bev, you’re putting me to shame,” he teased back, shaking his head. he’d been here longer than some of the other losers, but he had to admit, he’d never fully settled in. he’d been waiting for something to happen, never knowing what. but now… maybe he could begin to settle down. he shrugged, looking down at his mug. “yeah, been here a little longer than the rest of you. it’s really not all that different to derry. quieter, somehow.” not as scary in other ways, like a lack of alien clowns, and significantly less odd looks when he walked around. “gotta have the good times while they’re here. maybe we can take actual swimming gear to the lake this time,” he laughed.
・・・・・・
“don’t feel shame. i will never be the prime example of an adult, ever.” usual grin remained at his words, even if the mere mention of derry always rose goosebumps along her arms. “you’re right as usual, hanlon. it’s weird ... after living anywhere besides derry it’s even easier to see how fucked it was. children going missing shouldn’t feel fucking NORMAL.” ginger brows furrowed, a slight shake of the head to rid herself of those thoughts, to focus on what positives could be found. “oh hell yeah. no we’re really talking. snorkels, goggles, all of it. maybe the water will actually be clear enough to see shit in.” dirty water, another lovely thing about derry. “i just hope they’re more good times ...” words trailing off, curiosity getting the best of her as it usually did. “—have you, i don’t know, remembered anything new ??”
missing people beverly didn’t know she should be missing was quite an ODD feeling, but fuck was it s t r o n g the moment she saw any of the losers’ faces. the best of friends she’d ever had. yet, all forgotten in the haze of childhood. “oh my god, mike !!” eyes crinkled along a joyous smile as she met him where he stood, arms wrapping around him in a warm embrace. MEMORIES — a deep voice, the day these bonds were forged, a bloodied rock, a different voice, one mentioning that he heard the name mike, though that one of the three immediately forgotten again. “look at you, all grown up.” she teased, squeezing once more before pulling away to get another look. “how the hell have you been ??”

mike was in a weirdly good place, mentally right now. most of his other friends had turned up and although he knew his memories weren’t quite right, at least he had the information he needed to keep going. and this gala was nice. seeing so many people with their loved ones, happy with each other, it put the nightmares he had of pennywise to the back of his mind. here, he could do what richie had asked of him - think about something that wasn’t it or the strange events that brought them to this town. what he could do, however, was be thrilled to see beverly. “you’re here too,” he exclaimed, stepping forward. “bev?”

Listening to the girl, Jo nodded her head and smiled. “That honestly sounds like it would be such a nice idea. Then you have easy access and a a great way to display everything.” She agreed, already able to see the idea she pictured in her head. “Um, I was just kind of looking for something that was made of a good wood. I’m really not one to do the whole color scheme thing. That would most like be more of something my sisters Beth or Amy would focus on.” She commented, letting her shoulders shrug. “I just need something that, when I spend days at, isn’t going to be completely useless.” Jo explained as she went back to looking at the furniture in front of her. “Um, sure! I’m more than happy to work together on this. Maybe it’ll be a lot faster and I won’t have to make all the decisions on my own.” She laughed.
・・・・・・
“something about having another person back you up in a decision makes it so much easier,” bev affirmed, holding out her hand for the other to shake. “i’m beverly marsh.” at the mention of two other sisters, she couldn’t help the curiosity. an only child, && a relief it was simply based off how things were, she still wondered what it’d be like to have siblings. “sounds like you guys at least BALANCE each other out well.” bev warmly quipped, listening carefully to what the other was looking for. “actually, the one i got wasn’t anything super fancy, but i’ve liked it.” the redhead took a few steps down the aisle before pointing out the desk she bought a few weeks back. “i’m not sure what you’re using it for, but i have a computer && printer on it && still have room for a few of my sketchpads.” bev still preferred pen && paper to the art program she had. “but if you’re gonna be sitting a while, i recommend a good chair above anything else.”
social gatherings weren’t exactly johanna’s thing, but she’d be anywhere that had a good drink. velvet bourbon was one of her favorites because they didn’t stiff on the alcohol like most places did. a few drinks && she was almost happily buzzed, enough at least to not be a total asshole. though, admittedly, she almost laughed at the sight of entertainment. “yeah, people around here are dicks. they never change, not matter where you are.” johanna mused, dark gaze wandering over the stain. “that’s not gonna come out. they like their drinks fruity && dark it seems. an asshole who also has bad taste.”
Alec spent just a little too much time at Velvet Bourbon, but he was a social guy and liked to people-watch. At least, this Alec did. Normally, Alec Lightwood would be off working, or spending time with his family, not slicking his hair back in a small mirror in the corner of the dining room. After he determined that every hair was perfectly in place, he turned and was immediately met with a spilled drink on his shirt. “ Hey, this is brand new! ” He called out to the person who had now completely walked away, as if nothing happened. “ Asshole. ” He muttered, reaching for a napkin to blot at the stain.

lulu looked up and at the man and swallowed back her tears and tried to smile at the joke. it was a weak attempt and past her would have loved that pun. she nodded, “yeah better then spilled milk.” gathering up some things in her arms the blonde nodded vigorously. “i’m fine. really. you ever just have one of those days when you know it’s all going to be toppling down but you don’t know what gonna push it.” that was her every day life. “I really should just get reusable bags at this point. but my cart is broken so one thing at a time ya know.”
・・・・・・
a slight nod, he may not know exactly what the other was going through, but the feeling was familiar. frankly, he wouldn’t admit that to anyone who actually knew him. mike munroe was supposed to always be on top of the world. more often than not he felt like he was missing something, or that maybe he wasn’t doing what he should. “there’s always hope for a better tomorrow, that’s probably what i’m supposed to say. i’ll keep my fingers crossed that’s the case for you. but as for your cart i could take a look at it if you think it’s salvageable. i don’t know a lot about fixing things but i do like to try to figure shit out.”
Jake: that’s a pretty rock, Dwight
Dwight: thanks! Feng gave it to me
Feng: I threw it at you
Dwight: She’s very sweet
edgcofgreat / ben hanscom * !!
Bev grabbing onto his arms made Ben’s eyes widen slightly, but he certainly wasn’t complaining. It could’ve been worse. She could’ve lost all of her memories like some of the other people in town, but she hadn’t. She was still Bev, even if she didn’t remember their relationship. He felt a blush creep onto his cheeks as she mentioned his smile, and he couldn’t help but chuckle softly at all the NKOTB references. She was the only person that could make him smile like that, like nothing was wrong. “ Hey, being stuck with you isn’t so bad. ” In fact, it was really his best case scenario. “ I’ll never let you go. ”
🎈❤️🔥
upon the return of ben’s smile, her own widened. “ah, there it is again ; my favorite one.” words were uttered before she could stop them, however it felt right. it was TRUE. while unsure of the whole party to begin with, bev had to admit it was nice, this was nice. a bit of normalcy, something she never had. brow arched in almost a playful challenge. something about the way he looked at her always made her a bit nervous, but in the good way. “— we’ll see if you keep saying that as the night goes on. i may be your valentine girl, but i’m an annoying drunk. if in my sights you’ll be forced to dance eventually.” laughter chimed along to the music as hands released their grasp, nodding towards the drinks. “what’s your poison these days, new kid ??”
there wasn’t much that could NUMB the memories of the past, especially here. no morphling to be found ( then again, perhaps it was a strange, painful blessing — she’d seen what morphlings became ). && while liquor was hardly the same, it would do. hand raked through hair that johanna once questioned would ever grow back as she made herself comfortable, brow arched at her words as unamused gaze turned towards the other. “well —” a pause, her sights now moving around the ever crowding bar. “guess you better save that one.” johanna mused, pointedly looking at the chair opposite of Katarina. “first come, first serve,” she chimed with feigned warmth, slight smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth.
—- “Are you god damn kidding me?” Katarina exhales as her eyes fix upon the bartender. He had a very specific task. And that task was? To fill a wine glass with human blood. However, This human was a complete useless individual. She clears her expression and it switches to a sincere one – a grin upon her face & her body leaning in towards him. “If immortality is what you want, I will gladly give it to you. But, you need to follow directions exactly as I say.” Katarina speaks softly before locking eyes with him and compelling him. “Re-fill this cup. to the rim.” And with that, the man goes to the back. A devilish smile upon her and within a second, it fades to hear someone sat by her. But, the smile returns as she looks at the person before her. “I believe this seat is taken.”

Amelia laughed and nodded her head. “I’m happy to do it honestly. It gives me something to focus on.” She replied, shrugging her shoulders a bit as she spoke. Having this party to focus on took her thoughts away from her dad and everything else in her life. Hearing his words, she smiled a bit and gave another nod of her head. “I promise I’ll take at least ten minutes at a time. I think my boyfriend and friends are lingering around here somewhere, so I’ll get them to make sure I chill out.” She assured him. “I’m Amelia, by the way. It’s nice to meet you.” She introduced, holding her hand out to him.
🐺☀️
“well good — cause if everyone’s not having a good time, it’s a failed party.” he quipped. truthfully most didn’t not have something go wrong ; whether it was with the planning or the guests. even more casual ones than this could turn quickly, or so he assumed. “but thank you. i’ll rest easy the rest of the night.” a short laugh and he extended his hand to hers as well. “i’m mike. nice to officially meet you. i’m surprised to run into a new face, i feel like i’ve been here forever. then again, this place is way more crowded each year.” even now looking at the crowd one would have to push their way through. he liked it though, kept things interesting.
kissed you when i saw you. stared deep into your eyes. i meant to say ' i love you ', but instead i said goodbye. shadows in the city ; i'm a stranger to myself, on these streets i'm someone else. shadows in the city ; like a demon in the dark come to tear us apart.
