Summer evenings.. oh how Diluc wished they could last forever, the way the orange sun set over the horizon of Mondstadt like a roaring fire. He stared down at his newspaper, humming softly to himself as he turned the pages, his coat neatly hung up on the chair. He paused for a moment, hearing a slight creak from the old floorboards of the winery.

“.. I can see you little bird. Is there a problem?” He asked, looking up at the stairs, where you stood. He chuckled softly, a soft smile crossing his face as he walked towards you, kneeling down to your level.

“What’s wrong? Are you perhaps hungry? Thirsty maybe?” He asked, wracking his brains for what could be causing a potential problem, but when you pointed up the stairs- he instantly knew.

“Ah. You were waiting for me to tuck you into bed?” He asked, smiling as he stood up again, reaching out his gloved hand and gently ruffling your hair. Despite his supposed grumpy demeanour, he always showed his love towards you. You were everything to him.

He reached forwards, lifting you up and placing you on his hip as he strolled to the kitchen, placing you down on the wooden counter. He had been told by Lisa that littles always liked a bottle before bed and her advice had worked tremendously up to this point.

“You just sit right there for a moment sweetheart, Papa will get make you a bottle.” He said, grabbing your favourite bottle out of the cupboard and swiftly fixing up a bottle, he always made sure to be swift while doing so to prevent any upsets.

“And.. there we go.” He spoke, chuckling as he lifted you back up into his burly arms. It paid off to be a bartender sometimes, he always managed to fix up bottles for you at an incredibly quick pace. He began ascending the wooden stairs, humming softly as he walked into his bedroom.

“I assume we’re ready for bed now, hmm? You’ve got your bottle and your blankie..” he said, his red eyes scanning you over quickly.

“..And I assume you don’t need a change?” He asked tenderly, his voice quiet and gentle as not to startle you. He sighed in relief as you nodded, gently pulling back the luxurious duvet and carefully laying you down on the pillows, all while smiling softly.

“Do you want Papa to stay beside you for a little bit until you drop off?” He asked, tucking you in to the covers, making sure your stuffed animal was securely in the sheets too before sitting on the other side of the bed, reaching out and stroking your hair.

When he could see your eyes begin to close and suck on your bottle in a relaxed manner, he felt his heart warm slightly. He leant down, pressing a kiss to your forehead before heading to the door, turning out the light as he spoke.

“Goodnight, little bird. Have sweet and pleasant dreams.” He murmured before exiting, shutting the door behind him with a chuckle.

Rapunzel

I imagine she would be a regressor. Something about her not being able to fully experience her childhood without a care.

Ages 5-14. Mostly stays on the older end. Is normally well-behaved but will throw tantrums and can be defiant since she couldn't before.

Is a crafty princess but prefers being outside and playing in the field and forest. Loves going out into town as well.

Sweet tooth and sweets thief.

Hide and seek, tea party's, dress up, and dancing are her favorite activities. Again she loves art more than anything but she likes to be active during her regression.

Prefers to be called princess, faery, sweetheart, and lovebug. I imagine she has mixed feelings about the nickname flower but she may attempt to reclaim it in the future.

Will absolutely playfight. Never wins because she ends up laughing too much to concentrate. Magnus totally lets her win sometimes though.

Pascal is her best friend and babysitter oddly enough. He totally rushes around hurrying to stop her from doing something silly. Later on Magnus intentionally tries to help her have fun which only causes Pascal more panic.

Later on with Flynn, he probably is more of a babysitter at first. Totally didn't get it but understood all too well why she would regress. Since Rapunzel probably wouldn't think about her behavior I imagine Flynn does some digging to figure out what's going on.

Cannot sleep in the dark anymore. Terrified that Gothel will come back so she can't fall asleep alone in the dark ever. Pascal never leaves her side at night.

Rarely stops smiling when regressed and has killer puppy dog eyes. Does experience spouts of anxiety and paranoia. I feel her parents would be heavily involved in trying to help her heal her inner child, especially since they missed watching her grow up.

\\ Albedo hadn't wanted to go to the angel's share to be entirely honest. But he also knew that if Kaeya knew he was closer to 9 years old than 21, he wouldn't have even suggested it. He supposed it was his fault they were there, so he was content with it. Abesntmindedly chewing on his lip, they entered the tavern, and made their way straight to the bar.

After greeting Diluc, Kaeya began to order his drink, death in the afternoon(?) as usual, and when Diluc turned to him for his own order, Albedo paused. he hadn't actually been in the angel's share without drinking, and wasn't sure what to get.

Kaeya began talking for him at least, "He won't drink right now, what non-alcoholic options do you have?"

He looked slightly to the side feeling Diluc's eyes on him, watching him, as for a reason as to why he wasn't drinking. Kaeya saw the glance from Diluc and answered for him, a simple response.

"He's fine, just doesn't like drinking while under the refre-regression? I think it's called a regression?"

Diluc quirked an eyebrow, "Age regression?"

Albedo was shocked that the redhead had heard of it, and quickly turned back to face Diluc, jaw slightly agape. Before he could respond, Diluc was continuing, "Yes, I’m slightly familiar with it.” Answering Albedo’s unspoken question, before rounding on his brother. “Kaeya, why are you drinking if you're aware of his regression?"

He recovered from his shock, meekly interrupting the accusation aimed at his boyfriend, "No- um, he doesn't know. Not fully. It's okay Master Diluc."

Making eye contact with Diluc, he smiled weakly, obviously not expecting his secret to be exposed so openly. Diluc's eyes softened ever so slightly, and there was a silent agreement of "I won't ask any questions if you won't" shared between them. It wasn't long before Kaeya had caught onto what they had been saying, interrupting their moment with a loud outburst.

"Hey! I don't know what?"

"Oh it's nothing. Albedo, we have a selection of juices, is there any in particular you'd like?"

“Wh- Diluc! What do you both know that I don’t?!”

Albedo smiled at the dramatics of Kaeya, watching them bicker back and forth.

“I’m impartial to any drink. Is there any you’d recommend?” He questioned, trusting Diluc to make something he’d like.

“More to annoy Kaeya than anything else, how does grape juice with a small mix of strawberry, and pineapple juice sound? On Kaeya’s ever growing tab, of course.”

“Eugh,” Kaeya made a grimacing face, “you and your fucking grape juice.”

“That sounds amazing, Thank you.”

After a short while of Diluc making their drinks, and listening to Kaeya’s pestering about the situation, Diluc had still refused to elaborate other than a “Why don’t you ask Albedo yourself?” They were pushed across the bar, with a piece of paper and a pencil next to Albedo’s. He looked up at Diluc, silently questioning why he had been given those.

“You seem to draw and write a lot. While I have a few of Klee’s books here, I don’t think that’s something you’d like right now. At least not here.” Diluc answered, and Albedo just nodded, mouthing thank you before tucking into his drink. It had been served to him in a tankard instead of a glass, one wide enough for him to get both hands around to keep it steady, but not so heavy he struggled to hold it. The tankard also wasn’t clear, which Albedo thought was a smart decision so he would be able to lie about what drink he had, but was enjoying the juice so much he decided that would be his regular order from now on.

It didn’t take long for the fuzz in his brain to increase, especially when Kaeya started bickering with Diluc again, so he sat back snickering, watching and doodled them arguing while he enjoyed his juice.

how do you... be regressed all the time? is it hard? do you have to try hard to keep yourself regressed or does it just happen? does it feel like escapism or just who you are? does it make life easier for you?
