From an astrology perspective, there are many planetary combinations and aspects that can lead to disability.
The one that I can remember right now says that, if you have Saturn(or an aspect from Saturn) in the 5th house, which represents your children, means you'd have a child with disability. So, it doesn't have to be your past life karma, it could be your parents'.
I have a question for hindublr!!! :>
How common actually is the belief that disabled people are disabled for sins in past lives?
I read it in an "intro to hinduism" type book I picked up, but as a disabled person it really doesn't sit right with me and I kind of doubt it's that common of an belief?
Ty for your perspectives :3

This was on the way back from visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi.
I wanna know the whole lore now. What's with the rats and hammer and radish?
Japanese Buddhist version of Shiva be like
I find it slightly humorous how he went from full youthful yogin to very well fed older gentleman with hammer, bales of rice and rats, but hey he flourished
still same functions he actually has a similar form to the continental Bhairava but he looks like this most of the time
Naaah how is he so cute?? Also is he riding a radish in the first picture? Lol
Love how Shiva has evolved through cultures and practices. Japan also has other versions of Hindu deities like Ganesha and Saraswati. I’ve heard about it.
I would love to study more about the symbolism of the rats and the radish!
Why would an Asuri attack Swarga if an Asuri already rules it as Devrani? (Asuris are girl's girls)
Shachi is an asuri. She is called Poulomi after her father Asur king Pouloman
So
Ik we shouldn't always make the Ashurs villain (cuz all of them are not the villains and I'll yell this till the end)
But why we never have any Asuri being a villain??? (Other than Mahishi ofc)
Why no Ashuri wants to conquer the universe or swarga or have some beef with Indra or any of the Gods
Why non of them are asking for any vardaan from either Brahma or Shiva
I feel like then Parvati/Vishnu will have to find even more complicated ways to defeat them 🗿
THAT'S WHAT IM SAYINGGGGGGGG
This is why Mahishi my beloved
I mean hey I support women's rights but also women's wrongs yanno
Mahishi is so cool hsjskskd also im glad she doesn't get any of those Ovidish Medusa treatment in our mythology
She's a straight up beast and she knows it 💅
We need more evil Asuris frrr
I've been meaning to talk about this.
Don't blame all Kashmiris and Indian Muslims for terrorism. Okay ji.
But blaming all UCs for 5000 years of history is alright? Building a system which denies equal opportunities for ordinary general category Indians citizens is also acceptable?
How does that work?
Let's talk about Chaiti (चैती)
It is a folk song genre sung in Awadhi and Bhojpuri in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Nepal and neighbouring areas.
Chaiti is specifically sung during the month of चैत्र—or as we call it in Awadhi, चैत—where it gets its name from. The most important aspect of a chaiti for me is the usage of रामा. I have never heard of a chaiti without it.
There are devotional songs—especially sung during राम नवमी and चैत्र नवरात्र. There are songs about the season itself—the koel’s call, the flowers that blossom in spring, and mango trees, the changing weather. And then there are the songs of yearning (बिरहा), sung by a बिरहन, a woman in longing. Why? Because spring is here, but the one she wants to experience it with is not.
