Let's talk about Chaiti (चैती)

It is a folk song genre sung in Awadhi and Bhojpuri in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Nepal and neighbouring areas.

Chaiti is specifically sung during the month of चैत्र—or as we call it in Awadhi, चैत—where it gets its name from. The most important aspect of a chaiti for me is the usage of रामा. I have never heard of a chaiti without it.

There are devotional songs—especially sung during राम नवमी and चैत्र नवरात्र. There are songs about the season itself—the koel’s call, the flowers that blossom in spring, and mango trees, the changing weather. And then there are the songs of yearning (बिरहा), sung by a बिरहन, a woman in longing. Why? Because spring is here, but the one she wants to experience it with is not.

I don't really lean towards either left or right. Because there are times when the left is right about some things and the right is wrong about some things.

But some of the people on the left need to leave indigenous people's business to them. Don't try to fight their battles for them. Especially not when you are literally trying to frame them as the villain, without knowing the truth.

The left only wants validation from others for always supporting the right thing while being blissfully unaware of what the right thing actually is.

So go ahead and assume I'm a right wing Hindutva activist if I follow hinduism, do not like the abrahaic religions because of their teachings, and acknowledge the atrocities hindus have faced in the past, and are facing in the current timeline.

Atleast, I'm talking about people who have similar views and beliefs as me, people who really need a voice, people belonging to a place I belong to, people who look like me, talk like me, worship our gods and the nature like me, while you are still crying about a place that you have no business talking about, aka Gaza. If you really cared about people, you'd acknowledge that Hindus in Bengal are going through the same thing that islamic people are "supposedly* going through in Gaza.

This is what their religion teaches them? War, looting and slavery. I mean, what was I expecting anyway.

= "Indian girls aren't even pretty, at least we should've been at war with some better (better looking girls) country."

They're never beating the allegations that they've fantasies of taking our girls as their war booty (maal-e-ghanimat). Also, note the racist undertones.

"Har Har Mahadev! ✨ Celebrating The Divine Energy Of Maha Shivratri"
"Har Har Mahadev! ✨ Celebrating The Divine Energy Of Maha Shivratri"

"Har Har Mahadev! ✨ Celebrating the Divine Energy of Maha Shivratri"

Shiva (Lord Shiva) + ratri (night), so Shivaratri means the night of Lord Shiva." Devotees of Lord Shiva generally observe a strict fast on this day, with some undertaking a nirjal fast, abstaining even from water. The Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (12.13.16) states vaiṣṇavānāṁ yathā śambhuḥ, indicating that Lord Shiva is the best of the Vaishnavas, the devotees of Lord Krishna. Gaudiya Vaishnavas worship Lord Shiva on this day to seek his blessings to become better devotees of Lord Krishna (Vishnu), rather than to attain residence in the abode of Shiva.

Origin and History of Maha Shivratri

The origins of Maha Shivratri are deeply rooted in Vedic scriptures and ancient traditions. There are multiple explanations for its significance:

1. Appearance of Lord Shiva – According to the Linga Purāṇa, Maha Shivratri marks the divine manifestation of Lord Shiva in the form of a Jyotirlinga, an infinite pillar of light, symbolizing his supreme, formless nature.

2. Marriage of Shiva and Parvati – The Skanda Purāṇa and Shiva Purāṇa mention that Maha Shivratri is the night when Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati, representing the union of Shakti (energy) and Shiva (consciousness).

3. Shiva’s Cosmic Dance – It is believed that on this night, Lord Shiva performed the Tāṇḍava, the divine dance of creation, preservation, and destruction, emphasizing the cosmic cycle.

4. Krishna’s Words in Mahabharata – In the Anushasana Parva (14.144), Lord Krishna advises Yudhishthira that observing Maha Shivratri with devotion bestows blessings and liberation.

5. Legend of the Hunter – The Shiva Purāṇa narrates the story of a hunter who unknowingly worshiped Shiva by dropping Bilva leaves on a Shiva Linga while hiding on a tree. This act freed him from past sins, signifying the power of sincere devotion.

Thus, Maha Shivratri has been celebrated for millennia, signifying Shiva’s role in the cosmic order and the power of devotion in attaining divine grace.

Like I Said They'd Use "misinformation Manufactured Narratives And Manipulation". And Just Look At How

Like I said they'd use "misinformation manufactured narratives and manipulation". And just look at how dedicated they are to this.

I'm glad some of us are doing the right thing by fighting this with truth. Because in the end truth triumphs.

the loss of life is tragic but why were you vacationing on a land that your state has been violently occupying for decades in the first place?

A Durga Mata Temple At Manali Mall Road

A Durga Mata temple at Manali Mall Road

It was strange no one was visiting this temple on a Friday (I visited this on the 7th of Feb)

I love the little art on the golden plated doors of this temple. I can make out a few from this picture too.

You shouldn't expect a reward for something that is expected of you.

Just like when you're a parent, you are expected to support your kid, give them a good upbringing. You shouldn't expect rewards in return. The same goes for feminism. If you think your feminist views deserve a clap or a pat on the back, choose a better reason.

men lose their masculinity (the social reward for correctly performed manhood) through advocating for, sympathizing with, or doing labor that is allocated to women.

(and I'm not talking about some innate, spiritual, or psychological masculinity. I mean social masculinity--being regarded by higher ranking men as masculine.)

you genuinely do lose your current standing if you meaningfully and consistently object to the economic, legal, and interpersonal status of women, especially in ways that implicate men around you.

many men believe that if they are willing to do this, occasionally, then they are owed a recuperation of their masculinity through some other means.

if they are sacrificing masculinity through advocating for women politically, then they expect to bolster their masculinity through receiving expressions of gratitude and adoration by women ("feminist men are so hot" "consent is sexy" "pro-choice men get laid more" etc.) or they expect to bolster their masculinity through emasculating other men by asserting the standards of masculinity they adhere to are the "real" masculinity ("real men support women" "sexists are immature boys, I'm a man" "I'm secure in my masculinity and they're insecure" etc.)

to dismantle patriarchy, you need to be able to advocate for women even when it means losing gendered status. other men mostly will not respect you, and many misogynist women will not respect you either. it might not get you laid or praised or validated. in fact, it will probably subject you to increased scrutiny and criticism (because feminized subjects are always subject to such, and if you lose social masculinity, you too will experience this to some degree).

will you still advocate for women even if there is no social benefit and only social cost? do you have principles, or do you just want the fantasy of being a benevolent ruler?

I might be too late to comment on this.

So yes Operation Sindoor was a success. It was a feat.

But the moment some fools in India came to know Col. Sofiya Qureshi was amongst the 2 women who led this, all of them started reducing her to just her religious identity. I even heard someone say "it must be intentional because the terrorists attacked based on religion" what if it's not. What if she was chosen because she could lead it. Not because of some DEI points either.

Let's not promote the same thing we stand against.

"Oh no hindu women wearing bindi, mehendi, churi payal, sindur?? No no no it's all a sign of patriarchy" "It's so misogynistic"

Because God forbid women want to look like the divine feminine.

And what do these people even mean by that? Do you think other cultures/religions don't have such traditions? Women in Asia have used jewellery and elegant garments and makeup as a way to enhance their beauty.

Hindu traditions and festivals just enslave women and reinforce patriarchal practices, karwa chauth for example, a festival where a married woman has to fast and stay famished for whole 24 hours, NO water and food and some of them don’t even swallow their own saliva and why? for the long life and well being of her husband. Husbands are placed on a pedestal in hinduism, he is more revered than god sometimes while reducing women to obedient and self sacrificing caretakers . It reinforces the idea that a woman’s purpose revolves around a man’s needs, his health, his happiness, his survival while her own identity and agency is considered as irrelevant. In this religion women’s existence will always be tied to men and are expected to embrace such misogynistic ideals or else she’ll be labelled as a “too westernised housewife” or other names they love calling when you go against the system
