Hello My Lovelies! Long Time No Post! X

Hello My Lovelies! Long Time No Post! X

hello my lovelies! long time no post! x

here is my midsummer/summer solstice/litha/etc spread! i recommend for crystal use incorporating rose quartz, citrine, moonstone, carnelian, garnet, tigers eye, or amber into ur practices on this beautiful day. of course, any crystals u can get your hands on will be beneficial if thats what you choose to do, but a little bit of rose quartz did no one any harm ;)

for candles/incense, i keep my black candles for the later period of the year when im screaming around my house n pretending to not b terrified of LIFE :) right now, i bring in red (love n passion, baby!), oranges (bring in those new beginnings which are always appearing in front of u this time of yr!), and yellows (communication n GOOD HEALTH SO SAY GOODBYE TO UR ALLERGIES - jks, sadly). white is always good - really just the classic warm colours that can be used for either chakra channeling, meditation, spell work, etc. in the incense-sphere, lavender and chamomile are GREAT for this time of year. I also rec dragons blood for any sexy charms/spells/etc u might be doing.

i hope this has helped and that u enjoy using this spread! pls lmk (if u want) if u do use it omfg i LOVE hearing from u guys and learning what worked for u/what didn’t and the results u got!

happy midsummer/summer solstice/litha to all u magical folk out there - have a fab time of yrrrrr! x

Comforting Tea Spell

Comforting Tea Spell

If a friend shows up at your doorstep in tears or distraught and is looking for comfort, brew her a witchy cup of tea by imbuing it with your intentions: visualize your friend being warmed and soothed by your cup of tea as she drinks it. As a witch, your intent carries great power through your actions. You perform everyday actions with intent and become more attuned to yourself and the way things work in the world around you. By learning to channel your desires through the spellwork you do, you will manifest happiness, joy, and abundance in your life. 🍵

For the tea blend, you will need:

Lemon Balm

Mint

Chamomile flowers

Lavender

Rosemary

Any additional add-ins you wish to brew into your tea based on your intentions, such as cinnamon for luck, ginger for strength, or sugar for sweetness

For the Spell:

Steep the tea blend in a tea pot or in a loved mug. As it’s steeping, stir the contents with a spoon clockwise and imbue your intent into the tea. Visualize your friend being warmed and soothed by the tea, or imagine her delight when she tastes the tea.

Add any additional spices, herbs, or sugar you’d like to add to the tea now. Consider their magical associations. Add a pinch of cinnamon for luck, or a pinch of ginger for strength, a pinch of thyme for courage, or a pinch of rosemary or salt for protection. Add sugar for sweetness if desired, for both taste and sweetness in mood.

Stir the tea, three times clockwise, one final time and recite: “With tea and spell, and help from above, all is well, light and love.” Then tap your spoon on the mug or teapot three times to seal the spell.

Serve the tea lovingly to your friend or loved one.

Laurel’s Easy Sabbat Planning Guide

For all of the witches who struggle with Sabbats sneaking up on them, here is a guide to help whip up an easy celebration so you never have to miss out on Sabbats again!

image

A Sabbat is a seasonal festival mostly celebrated by Pagans and Witches. Sabbats are like any other holiday, except these are normally celebrations of the changing of the seasons, or the “turning of the wheel.” Each person will celebrate each Sabbat differently, as each season is completely personal to you.

⛤ The First Step

The first step I recommend to planning a Sabbat celebration is to figure out exactly what the Sabbat is to you. Figure out how you feel about the sabbat and what you naturally associate each one with. This can take some time to work through, especially if you are new to sabbats or if you tend to avoid nature at all costs.

⛤ What to ask yourself:

- What does this Sabbat mean to you? - What is the Earth doing right now? What does it look like outside your window? - What is in season (this includes foods, herbs, flowers and decor)? - How do you feel this time of year? How does this particular Sabbat make you feel? Is this normal? - What sort of things make you feel “witchy” or connected to this Sabbat? - Why is this day special to you?

⛤ Things to Do:

- Perform a ritual. Rituals can be as elaborate or as simple as you want them to be. Sometimes all you have to work with is a tealight candle and a week old pack of cookies.

- Cook. Some of us feel connected to the world around us when there is food involved. After all, it’s not a party unless there is food. Try out a new recipe with in-season foods, or make your favorite comfort food dish.

- Go outside. The easiest way to celebrate the changing of the seasons is to go outside and experience them. Even if it’s a short walk (because not many people want to go for long strolls in the dead of winter), take a moment to step outside and experience nature and observe what it’s currently doing. If you are able, plan a day trip to somewhere special or new to explore.

- Decorate. Nothing gets me in the holiday (or Sabbat) spirit like decorating. As a child decorating for Christmas was the best because that was the only time we put up decorations. Now, as an adult, I use whatever I have handy to decorate for every Sabbat I can to make me feel more festive.

- Offerings. If you work with spirits of deities, you may wish to put together some sort of offering for them when you celebrate. This can be food, special rocks or flowers from outside, or something you’ve made yourself.

- Spells. Sabbats are prime times to do spells for me. The spells I cast are reflections of the coming season and what I want from them.

- Crafts. There are a ton of different little projects for Sabbats floating around on the internet. Get creative and make something! If you are on a budget, make something with what you have, or modify a craft to include what you have. I like to make something new each year for the Sabbats (it’s an easy way to get “decorations” too!)

- Divination. Nothing says celebration like a good old fashion look into the future. Choose any form of divination that you’d like and do a reading for yourself.

- Journaling. Sometimes the easiest way to celebrate and connect is to get into your own head. Let the Earth inspire you. Stare out a window (or sit outside if you can) and just watch what happens around you. Let it inspire you to create. Journal about your own feelings, write a freestyle poem or sketch and paint what you see.

⛤ Creating a Ritual

Not all rituals have to be long and elaborate. Some of my favorite rituals are just sitting around in sweatpants with a hot cup of cocoa and my journal, reflecting on the season and my life. Ask yourself these questions to help piece together how a ritual would be best done for you.

- What am I celebrating? How can I celebrate this? - Who am I worshiping? - How much space do I have? - How much time do I have? - Why am I celebrating this Sabbat? - What do I/can I buy for my celebrations?

The important thing for Sabbats isn’t how grand your ritual is, it’s all about gaining something from it, whether that be a nice warm fuzzy feeling or a great insight into your life.

⛤ Reflection and Meditation

After each Sabbat day, I find it helpful if I reflect upon what I did that day and how my celebration went. This is when I do most of my journaling, but you don’t have to write anything. You can simply sit and rest and meditate on the day if you wish. Use this time to unwind.

- What did I do today? How do I feel about it? - What ideas do I have for next year? - What did this year’s Sabbat teach me? - What was my favorite part of today’s celebration? - What was my least favorite?

Happy Celebrating! ~L <):)

Des' healing foods: Cinnamon Sugar yellow squash

Normally it’s tea, but sometimes you need a little more than tea to get you going.

Right now, I’m sick. This is a recipe my aunt gave me, it’s not a lot of magic, bit it’s a lot of love.

What you need: • crook neck yellow squash, small • one table spoon cinnamon • 1 ½ table spoons white or brown sugar • two table spoons butter

What to do: ○ cut squash into small rounds, cutting larger rounds into fourths or halves so they cook evenly. ○ place squash into a medium pan with butter, cinnamon, and sugar. ○ cook on medium-high heat to the butter and sugar don’t burn. ○ cook until squash is tender. About 15 minutes.

What my aunt says when she makes this for me: You’re going to feel better, don’t you worry little one.

Chamomile Sleep and Offering Syrup

To go along with the syrups I’m planning to post now we come to Chamomile Syrup. This is really good for when you are having a hard time sleeping and want to add something to your tea when you don’t have the actual chamomile tea. Or you want to add a little extra boost to your Chamomile tea. You can also use this in your drink to help ground and center yourself.  Add it to teas, coffee, or liquor as you please. This also is really good as an offering!

1 Cup water

1-2 cups sugar or sugar substitute

5-10 bags of Chamomile tea OR 1 cup chamomile flowers

STEPS

Place water and tea bags or flowers into a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Add in sugar or sugar substitute; stir until the sugar has dissolved completely before turning down the heat and allowing simmering for 10 minutes

Make sure to stir it every so often as to make sure nothing on the bottom burns

Remove from heat, cover, and allow the syrup to cool for 20 minutes.

Once it is cool, take out the tea bags, or strain the flowers, and transfer into a jar. Store in the fridge

Don’t worry if it doesn’t look that dark at first, it’ll darken as it cools to a nice goldish color.

Proofing Spells

So, I am a baker by trade.  And, if I may say so, I am a very good baker.  I make very pretty baked goods.  I am good at my job.

Except that I always feel like I’m slow.  I take longer than most other bakers at my job.  And, yeah, it’s the trade-off for making high quality goods, and most everyone accepts that.  But it’s something I’m really, really insecure about.  Especially since I work 9 hour graveyard shifts; I don’t want to be there any longer than I have to.  Too tiring.

So I started doing this spell for myself at work:

Whenever I make something that proofs, I channel energy into whatever dough I’m working with (usually as I shape it, but also as I spray non-stick pan-spray into the pans, visualizing the spray as a vehicle for the transference of energy).  This is usually accompanied by aggressively chanting (in my head so my coworkers don’t think I’m crazy), “I am a good baker.  I work quickly and efficiently while still maintaining a high quality product.”

So now I have this charged up bread dough (often in charged-up pans; thanks pan-spray).  But - okay, so, I think this is so cool - as the dough proofs and gets bigger, the intentions of the spell proof up and get bigger.  And then, when I bake the bread/pastries/whatever, it completes the spell (usually with even more of an oomph, since things get just a bit bigger when they bake as well).

And that’s my speed and confidence at work spell!  Works for me every time!  That first batch of dough goes in the oven and BAM!

“But Miss D, I’m not a baker.”   You say.  “I don’t need to be a faster baker.”

Well, you know what, that doesn’t matter!  This can be a great medium for spells of any intention!  Think of something you want to be bigger.  The money in your bank account, your confidence, the number of friends you have - whatever.  If it can grow bigger in some way, this’ll work!

Now, you can bake yourself some bread for this (if you knead your dough by hand, you can really pound that energy into it!), but I’m thinking that anything that grows could work, since that’s basically what proofing is - the dough growing bigger.  Like, maybe if you get a balloon, you can charge the balloon itself with the energy (maybe tugging at it or whatever people do to make the plastic more pliable).  Then blowing air into the balloon is the action of proofing, making your intentions and whatever your spell is for grow bigger as the balloon grows bigger.  And then maybe you could pop it (like baking the bread) and BAM - MO MONEY/CONFIDENCE/FRIENDS/WHEVS.

And you could totally throw extra oomph into this method with things like color correspondences (especially for balloons, but also you could use food dye or certain ingredients for bread), or especially for bread, throw in some herbs relating to your intentions!  (Need some success?  Cinnamon bread.  Protection?  Basil, rosemary, onion.  The possibilities are l i m i t l e s s ! !)

Eh?  Eeehhhh?  Wha’cha think?
