28.08.22 | Tombstones and books 🪦
Pictures of the last book I read and of the last place I visited, a XVII century graveyard in Munich that now serves as a park in which you can see people peacefully roam and children play among the stones. Truly a unique (and slightly disturbing) sight.
Crow and fall aesthetic but make it a microraptor.
august feels like a fleeting moment.
Please share and repost this anywhere you want.
My little redisign for Joxter, cuz... Why not?
Couple of desktop wallpapers I made for my pc
I got tired of having to jump around and do a treasure hunt just to watch Monster High media, so I made a document of the original volumes (1-6), as well as uploaded the entirety of the webisodes, TV specials, and movies to a drive. I'm sharing it here in case anyone ever has trouble finding anything- it's all here. :)
ITS TIME TO TALK ABOUT WARDS!
Im doing some summer warding and wanted to share some tips on how, when, and why to ward as a witch whos practiced for 7 years. (7 years now? damn.)
first:
a ward is a magical barrier between yourself and any unknown entity. think of in the spiderwick chronicles when the old dude had his bed surrounded by a ring of salt- that's a ward, a common troupe for one too!
Wards come in different varieties, shapes and sizes. I wanted to highlight a couple of mine (which are admittedly a lil overkill) here today.
wards are a passive magic meant to be running constantly so things you do not want in your space dont find there way in. so basically: if you dont have any, you should proooooobably put some up after reading this.
so you can sleep safley at night? lol. in all seriousness, its like a magical moat for your space- nothing can come in unless you specifically let it. it's very helpful.
DIFFERENT WARD TYPES!
oh boy here we go let's talk about what kinds of wards there are!
Plants serve as a living, breathing barrier between you and the unknown. They are a very powerful ward when done properly. They can absorb negative energy for you! Be careful with this though- if someone hexes you, it might try to pass through your wards and hurt your plants :(
In medieval times, bells and windchimes were used to deter evil spirits from entering homes. Sound familiar? Anyways, this principle can still be harnessed and used to this day. Along with the bell, I got copper wire, which is a self cleansing protective metal, a hunk of labradorite to invoke psychic tendencies, and an acorn for luck :)
a very common ward includes protective stones! Heres a hunk of obsidian to illustrate! it makes it harder for spirits to pass through generally.
Idk if i can refer to these as prayer flags sincr they dont actually have prayers attached to them, but similar concept! This set of banners has protective symbols to keep my space safe and sound :)
Well that about summarizes my wards! Wards can be made from just about anything that aligns with your craft, I hope this gave you some ideas! blessed be, have a good day!
a witches ladder is a knot magick spell. you can make it into a bracelet, put it on your wall, give it to a loved one, etc.
you say/think each phrase while tying a new knot.
you will need:
a piece of string/rope
focus
intention
this spell is pretty flexible and can be used for many things. all you need to do is think about/visualize your goal while tying the knots. you can also write down your intention. make sure to protect yourself before and during the spell.
i would like to note that there are multiple versions of this spell, this is the one that resonates with me.
spell:
by knot of one, the spells begun
by knot of two, the magick comes true
by knot of three, so shall it be
by knot of four, the power is stored
by knot of five, my will shall drive
by knot of six, the spell i fix
by knot of seven, the future i leaven
by knot of eight, by knot of eight, it will be fate
by knot of nine, whats done is mine
You will need: aluminum can scissors sharpie or any marker really some kind of strong fabric like jeans (you can use part of a leg! Also, if it’s not the color you want, just paint it) button or zipper sewing stuff hot glue or superglue tweezers you can sacrifice Steps: measure your neck (make sure to add 1 or 2 cm so it’s not too tight), also have in mind how many and how big you want your spikes to be so that you can cut an appropriate height (words hard srry, gon add sm images later to make it easier to understand). After measuring everything, mark down on the fabric and cut 4 stripes (2 are for protecting your neck and 2 are to make sure the spikes stay in place). Now onto the spikes, get an aluminum can and cut off the bottom and top, then cut open the can so that you end up with a metal sheet (oh! You will need to find a way to make the sheet straight, since when you cut open the can, it will be curled up). Go on google and search for cone molds, also you will need to add 3 triangles at the base of the cone mold, now trace onto paper and cut (also test the molds with the paper to see if they look the way you want them to look like. Put the mold over the metal sheet and trace it and cut the sheet. Roll the spikes and glue them, use the tweezers to hold everything into place while glue dries, that way you won’t glue your fingers. Repeat these for all spikes. Get the fabric strips from earlier, now we are going to assemble it all together. With 2 strips, mark where the spikes are going, the first one by doing 3 dots like a triangle, then make holes so that you can put the spike’s triangles trough, and fold the ends. Now the second strip, mark where the spikes are and cut an x shaped hole, put this strip over the one with the spikes. Now get all the strips and sew them together, after that you can choose whatever way to close it, with a button, by tying with a string, zipper, idk whatever feels better ig.
