The joys of writing fantasy is nothing has the be realistic. The bane of my existence is the need to have things be accurate enough and getting nitty gritty about stuff.
Combat can be people hitting each other with sticks and vibes but I'm here trying to determine which weapons are used on horseback and how formation looks. They are fighting on the backs of dragons in a world of magic and mystery, what am I doing this to myself for? š
Anyways, lances are pretty cool but what else is there? From what I gather you just ram your lance and then whip out your side arm, which makes sense but also I guess I thought there'd be 30 or so different mounted weapons to choose from.
That I got no writing done yesterday
I thought about writing.
*round of applause*
Knowing what my characters look like (and being able to draw them) really helps me get a feel of who they are. I figured I should show you guys as well, so you can get a lil bit of a sense of who they are while things progress in the background. Design is subject to change of course, but probably not too much.
But yeah, cool purple wolf knight! I kinda considered giving them a fake tail, like one of those clip on ones. I thought it'd be cute.
Hey Hey everyone, so I've made a short twine game about a monster hunter has a run in with a vampire who they happened to know before they turned.
This story has two ending and you can pick from some pre selected names for your hunter for customization.
So if you've got the time and are interested check of Affairs in Blood
very busy. i have to pace in circles for 6 hours. you understand
You don't know if the ritual worked, but your code compiled, and a student is dead.
Everyone knows that the fast-track to a superstar games development career starts at the secluded Royal Highland University. But just as it seems your dreams are coming true, Simon Harcourt is found drowned in the Loch, and truths, involving chaos magic, messy relationships and psychedelic drugs are revealed.
Matrix Drowning is a WIP interactive fiction focusing on university life, romance, and an all-consuming obsession that ends in death. Think The Secret History meets Bandersnatch.
I donāt have anything huge to say on progress, these are mostly so I have a lil tracker on how things are going in the progress department.
I have finally retaught myself the basics of twine, and mapping out the prologue has been really fun. It was gonna be pretty small originally, but hey my first project is overall small scale so why not have fun with it!
Trying to figure out how variables work. Rocky waters but I think Iām starting to understand them, so hell yeah to that.
Trying to reconcile with the fact that ad much as I like them in other ifs, I simply don't like putting personality stats in my ifs. I feel like I have to have em to make a good game but the other half of me knows I'm not obligated to do anything in my works.
Bwuh, maybe I should make my projects into visual novels instead, I am a very visual person after all. I read way more interactive novels than VNs, so I'll need to dive into the medium more to better compare. But man I love and miss drawing, haven't done much of it trying to focus mostly on my IFs, and having lil images to go with my words is just fun.
Will I have to code more? Unfortunately yes. Do I know anything about music? Not really. Is it more work than just writing words? Probably, but words are hard for me anyways so lemme crutch my writing on my equally medicore art skills.
Anyways, my physical health is getting worse by the month. So many doctor visits n more pills, those might be getting to me. The chronic fatigue is still there n I'm prepping to get back to school n work towards a master's degree, so stress n stuff might be whats makin my writing pace slow as all hell.
Still something to consider, pictures :<
Hello! Welcome to Sanctuary. Itās a short, entirely free to play Twine based story with sci-fi and fantasy elements. You play an injured traveller on the way to one of the few stable strongholds on earth some time after an environmental disaster. During your recovery, you befriend a bandit, romance a lonely farmer and ruminate on loss, starting over, and the beauty of the night sky. Also milk some cows, maybe! Win over a grumpy horse⦠if you can.
The Travellerš¤: You. Part of a group heading towards Eden, a stronghold for survivors, toward stability. That was then. Now? Youāre injured, exhausted, not to mention very, very dusty.
The Farmer (Crane Lowry, RO)š±: 5ā11ā. Tawny skin and soft dark brown eyes. Striking dark eyebrows and long black hair. Crane is Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations.
A botanist and farmer. He saves your life after your ill fated trip, and lets you recover in his quiet, almost idyllic home. He doesnāt seem to want you there, but heās not asking you to leave. Check out Craneās pinterest board here
The Bandit (Jack Arthur)š„·š¾: 5ā7ā, Umber brown skin with a cool undertone. Piercing dark brown eyes. She has tightly coiled hair, cut very close to her scalp. Jack is Black Ojibwe. Check out Jackās pinterest board here.
Craneās childhood friend and a friendlier bandit than you expected, given her line of work. She agrees to be your escort to Eden when you can make the journey.
The Horse (Mutton)š“: An Ojibwe pony. He has black and white colouring similar to that of a cow. Mutton does not appreciate this connection very much.
Mutton is Jackās disagreeable horse. Well, he only seems to despise you. Probably because you never have any snacks on hand.

LUNAR CITY: a gritty but bustling city where supernaturals and humans live in (relative) harmony. Humans live alongside Fae, witches and warlocks, vampires, and so many more. It's normal. It's your normal.
When your father died, he left you with one thing: his antiquities/pawn shop. Decades upon decades of collecting and trading bits and bobs from all types of supernatural histories sit right here in Angelwood Antiquities, a staple of Lunar City and the shop you have now inherited.
It was his life's work, and you've done everything in your power to keep it running.
But when someone comes in bloodied and begging for you to take hold of a magical object, you don't know what you're agreeing to. You definitely don't expect him to die at your feet, telling you to take good care of...them.
Them?
Turns out the object is no object at all, but an ancient being that could be the key to stopping a multi-species war that's been brewing right under your nose..and your father may have had something to do with it. And when that being chooses and bonds to you--giving you its power--you are now thrust headfirst into the world of supernatural. The same world you've managed to avoid.
Entangled with a cast of characters who will help you save the world, you are now both human and supernatural, a rare feat. And the most important person in the city. And it will be up to you to save it.
Angelwood is an urban-fantasy inspired by stories by Sarah J. Maass, Cassandra Clare, and Holly Black. It is primarily centered around romance, with a fantasy, murder mystery, and war brewing at its core. The demo is already written and undergoing editing.

CAST [ROs]
IVAN CROSS (M)(FAE) - Ivan is the cold and distant Detective of the LCPD. He is also a powerful Fae, with a menacing reputation that makes most people scared to cross him. Ivan is not exactly a team player and he seems insistent on railroading this tentative partnership you didn't even want to have with him, but he's also the only one who can make sense of whats happening to you. Seems like you're stuck with him.
It doesn't help that you two aren't on the best of terms considering he closed your father's case without much effort.
FREYA (F)(GREENWARDEN) -- Ivan's second-in-command and your other partner that forms this...odd trio. You expected Greenwardens--powerful sprites that manipulate all things nature--to be smooth talking and caring. Wrong. Freya is snarky and punchy, and determined to get her mission done. Maybe it's because she's half human. Who knows.
DOMINION (DOM)(UNKNOWN) - Dom is the smooth-talking entity that is now in your head and giving you their powers. You...don't really know what to say. They sure are a flirt, at least.
KALEL/KALIS (M/F) (VAMPIRE) - K, once your old friend (and possible ex partner) is now insistent on joining your group considering they seem to have a stake in this too. (pun non intended)
SELINA (F)(SERPENT/HUMAN HYBRID) - Selina the Serpent is the owner of the biggest gambling den in the red light district, and also someone you don't want to cross. Over the years, she's traded with you on all sorts of things people leave behind in exchange for information...and now she wants to join in one the group. Having her around would really help, considering she has eyes everywhere.
QUINN (F/M)(HUMAN) - your best friend and the one you hired for Angelwood. And a human, which seems to be rare these days.
