why do i keep dreaming of shifting ? what does it mean
i’ve always had shifting related dreams. the last couple of months they’ve been pretty extreme though ( also a couple of months ago i switched what my main DR was ). i’ve made multiple post asking the same question or something similar, but i still don’t know…
often i will have a dream and sometimes i will just try to shift ( on multiple occasions i have not even been lucid ). i will have multiple dreams of thinking i’ve shifted. i will have DR related dreams, dreams ab my s/o… dreams where some random person in my dream talks about it to me.
i mean last night there was a dream where a person from my DR was in it, it kinda turned into a nightmare and they were doing evil things i guess (?) and i had a thought in the dream that i need to script this out ?
i genuinely don’t know what to think of this anymore. my subconscious is always doing this, so if anyone who has a better understanding of any of this wants to share any advice or perspectives pls do !!!
Lucid Dreaming and How to Enter the Void
This is probably the easiest, most effective, and yet the hardest way to enter the void. What is this method? Closing your eyes during a dream. If you close your eyes, your dream will disappear and you will be left in the void state. This is easy enough but the problem is acctually being aware you're in a dream. This is where lucid dreaming comes in.
I'm sure most of us know what lucid dreaming is so I won't go too into it but basically, lucid dreaming refers to a dream state characterized by the dreamers’ awareness of being in a dream and being able to control its content.
There are many methods to lucid dream and I want to direct everyone to this super helpful document by @kiramizukiii. This is a more in depth guide into lucid dreaming and lists many ways to induce a lucid dream. However, I would like to pull on my own experiences for this. My own method to lucid dream is using this subliminal. I just listen to it a few times (roughly 5 to 6 times) before falling asleep and I get lucid dreams everytime! I highly suggest everyone to atleast try this subliminal.
Once you're lucid dreaming, you can either close your eyes and be left in the void state like stated above or create a portal for the void and enter through that. Here is a post about creating portals but personally, I never tried it but if you think this method is more suited for you, I suggest looking into the post.
Hope this helps đź’—
there’s only so many times you can read about how you’re journey is done and it’s already yours before you start taking imagination seriously.
WBTB method is extremely underrated.
" Wake Back-to-bed is a common strategy used for lucid dreamers. I’m sure most people are aware but you basically sleep like five hours, wake up with an alarm, stay up for 30-45 minutes and keep yourself busy by using the bathroom and reading(you can read your script too). After that you use WILD to induce the lucid dream. Last night I used this to my advantage and I was finally able to get into the void state after so much time trying because I was able to actually focus this time. The experience was so incredible I forgot to shift but honestly I feel fine about it because the state was so peaceful. I just wanted to share this because this is like my first success and I’m really proud of the work I put in so far. "
WAKE BACK TO BED METHOD (wbtb)
It is a method that is very popular within the lucid dreaming and astral projection community. It is when you wake up around 4-6 hours after you sleep and you will be in your REM stage, the theta state, the half awake state. Definitely a perfect state for you to shift or respawn because your conscious mind is asleep and subconscious mind is way dominant.
So how do we carry out WBTB?
It is really simple trust me. Like I said, set your alarm 4-6 hours after you sleep. Try to target for your REM stage. How to know whether you are in your REM stage? If you wake up naturally or with an alarm and the last thing you remembered was that you were from a dream, you definitely have hit the correct timing.
If you are a heavy sleeper and would easily sleep back after switching off the alarm, place your phone at the opposite side of your room. Then you will be forced to push yourself of of your bed and off it.
Once awake, you are required to stay awake for about 10-60 minutes. I would recommend 15-30 minutes though but it all depends on each individual. If you feel as though you are still very sleepy, add another 5 minutes to your timing. During this timing, walk around, go to the washroom, repeat affirmations, read your scripts etc. Do anything you’d like but try to avoid activities that would raise your heart rate. The goal here is to only wake your mind up and not your body.
Once done, lay back in bed and do whatever method you wish to do.
BENEFITS OF WBTB
You can literally achieve a lot of things when doing wbtb.
SATs
Lucid dreaming
Astral projection
Sleep paralysis
Having higher success with methods etc.
MY EXPERIENCES WITH WBTB
I vouch for this method and include it with any methods that I plan to do. I shifted using WBTB many times so I would say this is definitely my core foundation to my numerous effortless shifts.

I don't know who needs to hear this but intrusive thoughts cannot manifest. I'm saying this as someone who also has them about disasters/disturbing events. You are safe.
i feel like i’m losing my mind jejwbwbwjqjw
can someone please give me advice on something? i’ve never really seen anyone dealing with what i have been, and i just don’t know what to do anymore.
for the billionth time i’ve tried to shift subconsciously in a dream. and this time, like other times, i wasn’t even lucid yet i was convinced i shifted. but this was just a dream. and like i’ve said before, this has happened multiple times, in different ways too.
today i was convinced i shifted, not to any dr of mine but in the dream i was ok with that. i don’t remember what was happening before really but i just started doing a method i guess till eventually it “ worked ” i didn’t have my senses, but i focused on all of them until i was “ fully grounded ”.
but i am certain it was a dream, no matter what i thought at the time, i didn’t have all my senses. it wasn’t secure like real life.
it’s honestly frustrating that this keeps happening. so maybe someone out there has some advice.
i’m so tired of seeing the word minishift
just fucking say you shifted
• make playlists for important / specific eras in your dr (for example i have one for autumn 2023 in my actress dr and winter 1989 in my twin peaks dr)
• watch youtube walking tours of the city or town that you live at in your dr
• make moodboards for your favourite people in your dr, develop their vibe and aesthetic
• make shifting bingo cards for things you need to do in your dr (eg. visit a specific place, talk to a specific person) and tick them off once you shift back
• use pinterest as a script, make detailed sections within your dr boards and organise them to make it all look cute
• make moodboards for your childhood in all of your drs and see how they differ
• start a shifting journal, you don’t need to make it aesthetic. write about your drs, how your journey is going, etc
• answer questions about your drs (some posts with questions: 1 2 3)
welcome to the shifting seance club.
sit down… sit down. the spirits are restless. the stars are watching, no, really, they’re watching
AHEM. before we begin, a moment of academic posturing: the knowledge i am about to bestow upon you has been extracted from highly esteemed sources that i recommend for any astrologers, such as . . . ŕ¨ŕ§
" esoteric astrology " by alice a. bailey " the astrology of fate " by liz greene " saturn : a new look at an old devil " by liz greene " hellenistic astrology : the study of fate and fortune " by chris brennan
i have consulted the planets, shuffled the tarot deck, knocked three times on my bedroom wall for dramatic effect, and this is what i’ve learned: your zodiac sign is not just a fun little personality badge. it directly affects your shifting progress. yes (probably not, take this with any amount of salt you want). the stars have opinions, and unfortunately, some of them are a little direct.
. . . now, let’s see what they say about you
â—ž aries.
omen :  a door creaks open, but you keep kicking it instead of walking through. fate’s verdict :  you shift like a battering ram. you don’t manifest, you threaten reality into submission. and while your raw passion is admirable, your achilles' heel is your impatience. you expect instant results, and if they don’t arrive, you throw a cosmic tantrum. ꒰ prescription :  you need to trick yourself into believing you don’t care about shifting. the second you release your vice grip on the universe’s neck, you’ll wake up where you belong.
â—ž taurus.
omen :  you stand at the threshold, hesitating, asking if this is “scientifically sound.” fate’s verdict : you are so rooted in your cr that shifting feels like a betrayal. you crave comfort and certainty, and the unknown? ew. gross. messy. you convince yourself that if you can’t prove it, it must not be real. but !! shifting isn’t a scientific formula. it’s a love letter to possibility. ꒰ prescription :  romance the shift. bathe in it. treat it like a luxurious silk robe that’s already draped over your shoulders. you are already there.
â—ž gemini.
omen :  the stars whisper secrets, but you’re too busy checking your notifications. fate’s verdict : you woke up in your dr. except, oh, look!! a new shifting method!! and a podcast!! and a theory!! you scatter your energy across 300 ideas instead of committing to one. your brain is a quantum supercomputer; your attention span is a broken hourglass. ꒰ prescription :  pick one method and pretend it’s the only method in existence. burn the rest (metaphorically).
â—ž cancer.
omen :   a single tear falls onto your dr script. it smudges the ink. fate’s verdict : you shift best to your dr when you feel your dr in your soul. but your achilles' heel? your attachment to your cr. you romanticise your struggles, like a poet in the 1800s dying of heartbreak in a candlelit attic. ꒰ prescription :  detach. your dr is not a dream. it’s your next home.
â—ž leo.
omen :  you envision your dr shift as an oscar-worthy transformation scene. fate’s verdict : you don’t just want to shift. you want the most cinematic shift of all time. you crave grandeur, orchestral scores, confetti. but reality doesn’t need a standing ovation to be real. ꒰ prescription :  simplicity is your secret weapon. the most powerful magic happens in silence.
â—ž virgo.
omen :  a stack of perfectly organised dr notes, rewritten for the third time. fate’s verdict : you think if you can perfect shifting, it will work. you treat scripting like it’s a final dissertation. but guess what??? the universe doesn’t care about syntax. it just wants you to believe. ꒰ prescription :  trust yourself. shifting isn’t a rubik’s cube. it’s a freefall.
â—ž libra.
omen :  the scales tip back and forth. you can’t decide which dr to enter. fate’s verdict : indecision is your kryptonite. you treat shifting like a multiple-choice quiz instead of a choose-your-own-adventure novel. ꒰ prescription :  just pick. you can always pivot later.
â—ž scorpio.
omen :  shadows shift in the candlelight. fate’s verdict : you want power over shifting. you want to dominate reality. but shifting isn’t a chess game. it’s a trust fall. ꒰ prescription :  surrender. let go. let the shift take you instead of trying to own it.
â—ž sagittarius.
omen :  your suitcase is always packed. fate’s verdict : you see shifting as a trip, not a home. ꒰ prescription :  commit. sink in. stop treating your dr like a fictional destination.
â—ž capricorn.
omen :   a mountain looms in the distance. you start climbing. fate’s verdict : you work too hard. you think shifting should be earned, like a salary. ꒰ prescription :  stop treating shifting like a job interview. you don’t have to prove yourself to the quantum field.
â—ž aquarius.
omen :  a thousand ideas flicker in your mind at once. fate’s verdict : you overcomplicate shifting with theories instead of doing it. ꒰ prescription :  stop analysing. start experiencing.
â—ž pisces.
omen :  you already live in your dr. just not physically. fate’s verdict : you dissociate instead of directing. ꒰ prescription :  channel your daydreams into intention. be the river, not the mist.
the stars have spoken . . . will you listen?
Shifting doesn’t have to feel like a chore
you can feel lost and still make progress.
feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’re failing. feeling lost doesn’t mean you’re not moving forward. if anything, it’s proof that you’re growing.
that uncertainty? that frustration? that feeling like nothing is happening? that’s what happens when you’re pushing past old limits. your mind is adjusting, your beliefs are shifting, and your awareness is expanding—even if it doesn’t feel like it yet.
growth isn’t always obvious. when you’re manifesting something like shifting, a lot of invisible factors are going to weigh in but feeling lost and still choosing to keep going is what pushes you forward.
so keep trying. the progress is already happening.
