the sprite for the fourth boss is almost finished...
its easy to see what was translated accurately and what i decided to have some fun with even if you can't read the language:
what program do you use to create music for your games?
I mainly use Musescore 4 for music composition. I also sometimes use flat.io for quickly testing out ideas.
i decided to remake the lore stuff. now instead of some random tile thing, its a page out of a journal
i have finished most of the fourth boss. all i need to do now is to add a little bit more stuff and i'll be finished.
anyways thats all for this devlog!
the prototype so far:
anyways now i will take a 20 year long break from everything
jokes aside, i will reveal the name in an announcement if the prototype seems good (might be june 17 ish or something)
Required: 52-card deck, 9 point chips, 1 server chip, 2 players
Start Both players draw 7 cards from the deck, and discard 2 of their choice. Flip a coin to decide who serves.
Serve The first player to serve must play at least one card. They can also let beforehand, which lets both players draw 2 cards, but the server must play a card. This is the first shot of the round.
Rally The players then take turns playing shots. Each shot must match or beat the other player’s last shot, and discards the previously played shot. Draw a card after making a shot. When the deck runs out, shuffle the discard pile. It becomes the new deck.
Hierarchy of Shots 2♣ 3♣ < 6♣ 7♣ (Higher number wins) 9♣ 10♣ < Q♣ (Faces beat numbers, even without a number) K♣ < Q♣ 3♣ (Face with a number beats face without a number) K♣ 2♣ < J♣ 8♣ (If both have a face, higher number wins. Higher face cards don’t matter) K♣ 6♣ < J♣ Q♣ (More faces beats fewer, even without a number) K♣ Q♣ J♣ < A♣ (Ace beats any shot with a face card. You cannot play Ace with a face card) A♣ < 2♣ (Ace loses to higher numbers) K♣ < 2♣ 3♣ 4♣ 5♣ (Playing at least three more cards wins no matter what’s on them)
End of Round A player loses a round if they don’t return a shot, by choice or necessity. The winner scores a point and draws 1 card. The loser draws 3 cards and discards 1 of them. Whoever didn’t serve serves now.
Winning the Game The first player to 5 points wins, or 3 points in a Quick Game.
once upon a time a friend and I wanted to make a rouglike game together. We did not have an official name for it so we gave it a code name. the fc in fcdesert is for "fredrik connor". connor is the artist and i am doing everything else. so far i have made some of the game and some of the website.
menu background:
connor made this, he also said that it was painful drawing every pixel (this is 500x500, so that means that he did now know that he could just resize the pixels at that time).
player:
this is when the player has the most powerful weapon equiped, i edited this sprite to give it different weapons:
as you can see there is a clear difference between his art and my art.
gameplay:
im thinking that it should take place in an magical pyramid where the rooms change, it will make it so that every time you enter a room it is always different.
also as you can see there is a white square following the player, i am currently making the enemy AI (i am making a different AI for each type of monster) and forgot to take it out before recording.
here are all of the player sprites so far:
that is it for this devlog, i'll keep you guys updated for any progress.
i make games. check out http://freeve4hserver.ddns.net
