Want an awesome Star Trek Backpack? Want it for free? Then this is the post for you!
It’s been a bit since my last giveaway, and I know everyone really likes the backpacks, so I thought I’d give one away!
There will be ONE prize: A custom backpack with the fabric of your choice! Or, if a backpack isn’t quite to your taste- any other bag in my shop! Awesome right?
To enter you are allowed ONE REBLOG and ONE LIKE per day. Each note gets you one entry and I’ll use a random number generator to pick the winner. (I’m not responsible for any tumblr fuckary i.e. lost reblog’s or likes.)
You do not have to follow me to enter- however, if you like Star Trek enough to wear a one of these backpacks, I’d say you have a good chance of liking my blog. Also if, when I select your name, I see you’re following me, you’ll get a little extra in your package!
And speaking of something extra: if you place an order between now and the deadline, use the coupon code 10STARTREK at my shop and get 10% off your order!
The giveaway will close on Saturday June 22nd at 9PM PST. The winner will be tagged in a post and I’ll also send an ask, so be sure yours is open. The winner will have 24 hours to respond to the message. If I don’t receive a response within 24 hours, I will select another recipient.
Good luck!

Sherlock & John
"SEES SELF: as a deep-thinker in love with new ideas and insights, but somewhat detached from others.
OVERRIDING NEED: to understand the complexity of people and life.
IRRITATED BY: hypocrisy, limits on personal freedom, impersonal details and mundane tasks.
STRENGTHS: provides future-oriented insights that inspire others, follows through on commitments with integrity and consistency.
SEEN BY OTHERS: as somebody who is creative, insightful, stubborn, and hard to get to know.
DECIDES through private pondering, may make up mind too quickly and then worry endlessly.
IRRITATES OTHERS: by neglecting details, getting over-emotional, going off at unrealistic tangents, using overly complex language.
CHALLENGES: may take criticism personally, blurt out feelings unwisely, withdraw socially for long periods, succumb to addictive disorders."

wow this is so cool
Thank you! Would you believe that this is the first bit of feedback I've ever gotten on any of my scrapbook pieces? (I'll bet you would, actually.)
But honestly, it means more to me to receive it than I can say. So much of my work, and especially this series in particular, is (sometimes literally) built on what has personal significance to me, and so little has ever been said about any of it besides what can be implied by the occasional like, reblog, or follow that I haven't been able to help wondering if the appeal really went beyond myself. Not that I'm saying that I'm not delighted with every note and follower I do get! Quite the contrary - but this is something I've been missing, and I very much appreciate it. And while I'm at it... followers, passersby, everyone; hello! If any of you at anytime have questions for me, or anything of the like, please, don't be shy.
HOW TO BUY LOW-COST GLASSES
If you are like me, you are low income. It doesn’t matter why, but you are and sometimes you need things to prevent your quality of life from dipping too much. Like a decent pair of eyeglasses.
Zenni Optical was brought to my attention by one of the residents at the clinic I interned at. The staff is remarkably skilled and it was my privilege to be able to work with them for 300 hours. Anyway, they serve many low-income folks and, instead of them sending them to their optician to look at frames, they recommended taking the up to date prescription and plugging it in at Zenni to get a good pair.
What you need
Your eyeglasses prescription. Get it however:
Dig it up from your paperwork
Call the last place that did your exam and pick it up
Pay for a new eye exam, decline fitting, and take the paper
Your pupillary distance
This is likely on your script somewhere. Look for “PD” and the number behind it. Otherwise, try this.
Here’s what you do:
Make an account at Zenni.
Plug in your prescription. I won’t go into the details of why and how scripts are written the way they are and how cool it is. Just plug in the values exactly as you see them. OD (ocular dexter) is the right eye and OS (ocular sinister) is the left. Sphere, cylinder, and axis for each.
It should look like this:
Now shop for some glasses and order.
Cheapest pair is about $7. Shipping is a flat $4.95 no matter how many pairs you order. Sales are often so, sometimes, shipping is free.
You can also order prescription sunglasses! Just make to order a regular pair in whatever frame, import the prescription you plugged in, and choose Add Standard Lens Tint.
I recently order my sunglasses because my eyes are going to boil out of their sockets. Took about a week. Came with a lens wipe cloth, PD ruler, and a case. Lenses are accurate and the frame doesn’t feel cheap or unbalanced.
SUPER.
As a lesbian who used to identify as aro/ace, I just wanna say that I'm never going to stop supporting the aro/ace community. It was a big part of my personal journey and I really valued being part of a group that's so open to people exploring their identity. If you don't believe that aro/ace identities are valid and belong in the lgbt+ community, I don't want you on my blog
As hard as it may be for you to understand how I cannot feel sexual attraction, please respect that it is equally difficult for me to understand how you can.

Rules: Tag 9 people you want to get to know better. Being that ass friend who may or may not return your messages or even see your tags half the time I can't in good conscience bring myself to ask anyone to write anything. *sweats*
Relationship status: Committed, monogamous, etc., for the last ten (and a half or so) years.
Wake-up time: I'm unemployed at the moment, and've been that often enough for the way my sleeping schedule abruptly ceases to exist every time it happens to be downright predictable. Between that and my tendency to oversleep, lately it's been any hour of the day from about 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. Yesterday it was 8:30 PM. On the bright side, my cat appreciates the opportunity to lie on top of me at novel hours.
Cats or dogs: Cats. It's embarrassing, but I've never been able to repress my disgust for the distinctive stench that just wafts off dogs - the way it lingers on your hands after touching them sends me sidling off to the nearest sink to scrub it away as soon as I politely can. And that's leaving their breath aside... which wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue if they all didn't insist on licking every accessible inch of exposed skin on your body. Why, dogs? Why.
Call or text: Text. I'm soft-spoken and have a bit of an accent, so all the cell distortion and crackling over the lines doesn't do me any favors.
Chapstick or lipstick: Chapstick or balm, tinted ideally. I want it to be lipstick, but I can't hack wearing it. It's harder than it looks. The last time I tried, I got it on my teeth at least three times, my hands, my face, my friend somehow, and worst of all in half an almost perfectly classic lip print on the meticulously wrapped Secret Santa gift I was holding (which caused me some anxiety over how it would be received, haha).
Last song you listened to: Nothing's Gonna Hurt You, Baby - Cigarettes After Sex.
