what is the story behind your blogs header photo (if you know it)? i love it and it raises so many more questions than it answers😭 is that john on the ground with paul ?
ahhhhh it's one of my fave beatle photos!!
i don't know if there's a specific story to this night, it just looked really fun. it's them playing at the top ten club in hamburg. i just adore the energy of it though. the way paul and john are singing and playing to each other and just feeding off each other's delight, and it's so much fun that george and stu are also smiling just watching them. it really captures how infectious their joy for playing is. also just the rare occasion when they're not matching, so they really look like any random band, it's very humanising. paul's dressed like an IT guy! he doesn't even have a guitar at this show (i think his broke at some point in hamburg so he was on piano and drums for the rest of their time there), he's just singing! it's very informal in a way.
the composition is so great too. the presiding impression most people have of beatles shows is girls screaming, so it's really cool seeing a couple dancing and completely ignoring them (while being completely ignored back because the beatles are performing for each other). also, if i remember correctly the guy on the bottom right corner is some hamburg ganster, which is really funny. these children are performing to thugs! and having the best time!
the other pics from this night are delightful as well:
Paul talking about his first song »I lost my little girl«
I find it very touching how he corrects himself that he was exactly 14 and a half years old at the time, because he knows exactly when his mother died (31 October 1956), which is the sad reason he wrote it.
Interview for Les Enfants du rock, Air Studios, London, 1982
He is in there, and no he’s not on his knees in front of Paul.

Will never forgive whoever decided to cut this out of A Hard Day’s Night…
Never Forget
Fun Movie Facts: In this scene, George winks at a woman who Ringo had been interested in, subtly foreshadowing the fact that he is going to sleep with Ringo's wife.

"The four of us spent so much time working together that it's good to see us just relaxing and enjoying ourselves." ~ Paul McCartney
…[John and Paul] are so totally in sync that they carry that through to a natural break, and you see John glancing to his side with this look of just fantastic joy, like they’ve just done something together that they never could have done on their own. - Joshua Wolf Shenk
George you coward keep going

✽ Brian Epstein & George Harrison ✽
‘Strangers find him an easy conversationalist because he is a good listener and shows a genuine interest in the outside world. He wants to know and I find this an endearing trait in a young man who is so successful and so rich that if he never learned anything new he would not suffer any loss.’ - Brian
‘We didn’t think we were going to make it at all. It was only Brian telling us we were gonna make it. Brian Epstein our manager, and George Harrison.’ - John Lennon
‘From the beginning we’ve always met the right people. Before we got wise to the business, we heard and experienced so many sharks who were raking in the loot and paying the groups nothing. […] But this is where I can give an example of our luck: we were lucky to meet Brian Epstein.’ - George
‘I always think of George as a friend.’ - Brian

I don't know why I have these vibes
The Beatles having breakfast together, 1965. I’d never seen this one before the other day. Just look at Ringo’s scruffy bed head and John in his Buddy Holly glasses, ugh, they’re so adorable.
Guys in general to the comments, not the post who was hilarious, chills. If don't want read mclennon fics, post, discourses, analysis, etc just do it, there is no obligation to follow a certain type of page or commentary. I don't think especially since Get Back that there is no material or a new spring of curiosity about the Beatles, now for example people is getting crazy about AI. If you feel there is no content for you I want simply say you can create it, do what you want to do your analysis, fics... there is no restriction to your creativity
Being into the Beatles and not giving a shit about mclennon is kind of isolating but it's also kind of a power move
