The ghouls just got back from re-imperatour, and get their well-deserved rest in the form of a very cuddly sleep-over.
This is my first time writing for this fandom, be mindful, please.

The re-imperatour had just come to an end, all the ghouls were excited to finally go back to their usual routines and be able to lay around all day, but most of all, they were excited to see Aether again.
Dew was the first to get out of the bus, not being able to wait even a second more to see Aether again. He looked around, he was excited, and in a weirdly good mood. Dew didn’t even bother to grab his bags, or even his phone, he just ran to the entrance of the ministry, where Aether was standing, yelling his name as he jumped into his arms.
Aether stumbled back from the impact, but held onto Dew and hugged him back once the two regained their balance. Swiss chuckled as he carried both his and Dew’s bags ang joined into the hug.
“Welcome home, you two.” Laughed Aether as he relished into the feeling of being hugged by the two ghouls once again.
Meanwhile, while Cumulus and Cirrus picked up their bags, Sunshine ran up to them and hugged Cumulus from behind, “Lus! Cici!” She exclaimed with excitement as she finally got to see them again.
Cumulus turned around and returned the hug, “Hi, love!”
After a while, the ghouls had all slowly gone into the common room, slowly gathering in the various sofas and seats of the room, cuddling each other and getting comfortable in the familiar space.
Rain and Mountain were sitting together on one of the seats, Rain’s head leaning against the taller’s chest as they finally got their well-deserved rest. Mountain was running his fingers through Rain’s hair, both had their eyes closed as they finally got more than a few minutes together.
Aether and Phantom took the opportunity to finally catch up while they rested, Dew and Swiss were right next to them, silently listening to the conversation.
After a few minutes, Aurora spoke up. “Guys, how about we sleep over here together?” All the other ghouls looked around, some of them nodding, others making sounds of agreement.
“I’ll go grab blankets and pillows for all of us!” She announced excitedly as she got up from her place on the couch next to the other ghoulettes, then Cumulus also got uo, “I’ll help you, Rory.”
A few minutes later, the two women came back with a shit ton of fluffy blankets and pillows.
Rain then spoke up, “How about we make a huge nest for all of us, it will be more comfortable.” All the ghouls nodded at the prospect of having a cuddle pile in a giant nest.
Soon, all the ghouls got to arranging said nest, even throwing in some extra blankets from the surrounding area.
And with that, all the ghouls started cuddling each other right on the floor of their living room.
Copia was… Confused to say the least, he had gone to look for Rain to ask a favour of him, but was surprised to not see the ghoul in his room, or any other ghoul in their rooms. That’s when he saw it, light coming from the common room.
He walked up to it and carefully opened the door to reveal all his beloved ghouls cuddling together in a giant nest in the middle of the room.
Cirrus was the first to notice him, having the best hearing out of all of them. Then, all the other ghouls turned to face him as well.
Mountain smiled softly at their Papa, soon to be Imperator because of his mother’s death, and waved him over.
Copia knew he shouldn’t go, had heard how the other higher ups of the Clergy had told him that the ghouls were not his responsibility anymore and he didn’t have to get mixed up with them. But, after all they had gone through together, he knew, he couldn’t turn them down.
I heard with those death threats on twitter, some sick bastards threaten the lives of Tobias’s kids if he didn’t cut Jutty… I say we should excommunicate all Ghost Twitter people, because they aren’t fans… fans don’t do this.

Dewdrop was bored out of his mind, he had already looked at everything around him in that dang hospital bed while he waited for Perpetua to pick him back up. He had even come up with names for the shades of the colours on the walls and random abstract paintings around him. He had stared at the chart with bones on the wall for long enough, that if they gave him an exam on them, he was confident he would land an excellent on it.
Then, a nurse knocked on the door, “you seem to have a visitor… he has… hors, though?”. “Let them in.” Said Dewdrop, knowing it must be one of the ghouls, too worried to realise that they hadn’t glamoured their horns on their way here.
When the nurse said that, she looked back at the person next to her, who was staring at her expectantly, “you said you’re his… partner?”. “Yes,” said Phantom, “I am.”. The nurse sighed, clearly tired from her shift and done with seeing odd shit. She just signalled to the door and walked away.
Phantom immediately walked in and dragged a chair to sit next to Dew. “How are you? What happened?”. Seeing the worry in the other ghoul’s eyes, softened Dew’s expression a bit, “I fractured my foot, bat, it’s nothing I won’t get through don’t worry.” Now more than ever, Phantom wished that his quintessence wasn’t only the vision sight type, and was the healing one.
Dew ran his fingers through the quint’s hair, knowing fully what was going through their head. “Don’t blame yourself for not being able to heal my leg, bat, it’s okay.” Phantom nodded and leaned into Dew’s touch, “Aether called, turns out Perpetua tried to call Copia about what happened, but he didn’t want to pick up the call, so Aeth did. He wants to know if you’re okay.”
Dew nodded and reached for his phone, we went into his contact list and clicked on Aether’s contact, then videocalled him, once he picked up, Dew could hear a faint “Sapevo che non potevo fidarmi di lui” in the background, knowing it was Copia grumbling about something, he decided to just focus on Aether for now, “Hi Aeth.” He greeted, earning a similar response, “Perp- your new boss called, how is your foot doing?”
“Well, it’s doing better… At least now I know what’s up with it. I have to wear this big ass boot though.” Dew was in pain, but tried to mask it, thankful that it was currently nighttime in the ministry and Aether wasn’t paying as much attention as he normally would. Aether sighed when he heard that, but then Copia came into view, “how are you doing, amore?” He asked. “I’m fine, C, don’t worry.” Dew tried to reassure.
After a few minutes of being on call, Dew turned to look at Phantom after hanging up. The younger ghoul asked, “Now, without lying, how are you feeling. I can tell you’re in pain, Dew.”
Dew sighed, he knew he couldn’t lie to Phantom, so he settled for grabbing his hand, “Well, I’m better now that you’re here.”

Summary: Mushy May Day 8: Subtle affection
Back in era 3, when Sister Imperator was trying to tear Terzo and Omega apart.
Fic below the cut or in ao3
@forlorn-crows
Terzo was sitting in his office, waiting for Sister Imperator to finally finish talking to him about how he should be more professional on stage and with his ghouls. Those whom Sister referred to as “lowly creatures who are expendable,” unimportant even.
Terzo hated her view of his ghouls, his companions, and how she only let him around them when there was work to do. He wanted to spend more time with them, they were his friends, well, Omega was a bit more than that, but still, he wanted to be able to not have to sneak around to see them all.
Sister seemed to finally get sick of telling him off for the same thing for what would be now the fifth time that week, and left Terzo’s office. Then, Omega walked in from behind a fake door that was in the room. Terzo had found it and made himself a room for him and Omega in there.
“She’s finally gone, amore…” Said Terzo as Omega walked up to where he was and sat on the chair at the opposite end of the table with him, they always did this so that they could pretend to be talking about the band if someone came in.
Omega reached out through the table and took Terzo’s hand in his. “One day.” He said. That sentence Terzo both longed for and hated to hear, “one day,” he replied. One day Terzo would retire, they would be able to leave the ministry and live together somewhere else, spend the rest of their days together, and not worry about Sister’s expectations or sneaking around.
That afternoon, while they walked to practice, their pinkies were intertwined, it was subtle, no one ever thought to look at their hands while passing them through the hallways, but it was their thing, their small rebellion against Sister.
During practice they always stuck together, never too far away from each other, and the other ghouls didn’t mind, knowing that it was one of the few moments where they could actually be together.
And like that, that night, they fell asleep in each other’s arms, hidden away in their secret room, hoping that one day, they would actually have this without fear.

Aether was concerned beyond relief. He had been holding onto Dew for satan-knows-how-long, and he couldn’t let go of him. Not even Omega had been able to do so. Dew had been completely unmoving ever since the clergy had performed the elemental transition on him.
Aether’s heart broke every minute that ticked by. He was in his own room, Dew’s getting emptied by some of the other ghouls since no one had hope of the ghoul in his arms recovering. But Aether couldn’t give up, still using his quintessence to keep Dew breathing, not being able even to let go of him for more than two minutes, afraid that even the shortest period of time away from each other would cause Dew to slip away from him.
Then, after weeks, maybe a month, of living like that, Aether felt Dew twitch, the smaller’s arm moved slightly. Aether couldn’t make out if it was actually true or just his mind trying to get him to believe that Dew wouldn’t die. He took Dew’s hand, almost in disbelief, and shed a small tear when he felt a small squeeze on it.
Aether held onto Dew tighter, resting his head on the shorter’s as he tucked Dew’s head into his chest, pushing a bit more of quintessence into him.
Then, it finally happened, Dew opened his eyes, looked up at Aether, who looked down at him after feeling the movement.
Both were silent, but smiled at the realisation that it was finally over, the constant agony and uncertainty had come to an end, and peace was ready to enter their lives again. They could only hold each other at the thought of that.
Pairing: Mountain/Rain
Characters: Mountain, Rain, original male character(s)
Tags: Fluff, nesting, domestic, kinda kid fic, mentions of pregnancy

Summary: Mushy May Day 3
After a long and complicated night, Mountain and Rain are finally able to make their nest bigger, for a new being to sleep in it with them, Drizzle, their son.
Fic below the cut or in ao3
@forlorn-crows
Rain was exhausted, completely exhausted as he sat on the rocking chair in the corner of his room. He had just spent the whole night doing what was probably the most painful and tiring thing he had ever done, yet it was also the most rewarding, because now he got to hold his little child, his pride and joy, Drizzle, a small, day-old water ghoul. All of this while Mountain undid their previous nest and brought in a bigger mattress.
Rain was smiling as he wiped the dry tear steaks that had dried out on his face. Peace, finally, after having problem after problem with the pregnancy, after having to deal with Sister, who was trying to get them to give the kit to the clergy. Peace finally reached them. Sister’s death had been chaotic for most of the ministry, but for Rain and Mountain it had only meant that their main problem was finally over.
Mountain finally finished struggling with the mattress and putting it in place, he then turned around and walked over to the rocking chair, getting on his knees to kiss Drizzle’s little head, “he’s finally here…” He whispered as he looked up at Rain. The water ghoul nodded as he smiled at Mountain, “should we start with our nest?”
To that, Mountain nodded, “how about I hold our little Drizzle for a bit while you pick out the blankets and stuff?”. Rain gave Mountain their son, and carefully got up with his mate’s support. He moved to the pile of blankets and other fabrics that they had put there the previous morning for this exact moment.
Rain started sorting through them, he kept a few blankets and his plushies from their previous nest, but picked up some shirts and blankets from the other members of their pack, he loved feeling close to them too. Mountain looked at Rain fondly, seeing how his partner picked up things from the others warmed his heart a little bit.
When Rain had everything picked out, Mountain moved to him, and helped him start to build their nest, first the blankets, forming a bowl-like shape on the mattress with them, then, Mountain let Rain arrange the other fabrics to his liking, and put some other blankets of his own.
Rain took a deep breath as he looked at the new nest, it turned out nearly perfect, there was only one thing missing. When Mountain changed Drizzle into a different onesie, Rain grabbed the old one, and put it in the nest too, then, it was finally perfect.
Mountain turned around with the, now changed, Drizzle and got in the nest. And like that, the small family fell asleep, holding on to their small son.
