this was supposed to be a post about me planning my sketchbook a thought dump but i'm vibing so hard with conan i can't think properly

one of my best friends got her results today!! she's going to the top uni in the country for her course, I'm so happy for her but I'm also really sad she'll be going so far, it also happens to be the same place I'm aspiring to go. I think reality is starting to hit me in terms of where I am and what I should be doing to get there, the work she put in is no joke

Monday 25 July 2022 i know when you use 24 hour time format you aren't supposed to specify am or pm but idk i can't say the time without it. it feels like there's something missing i am going on my residential trip for NCS in less than 8 and a half hours, and as a brown girl with strict parents that's exciting

i've scoured tiktok and i'm kinda scared ngl, why is it being described as love island?!?!?! that's like the worst thing you could say. (to any love island fanatics, i do apologise if this is insulting, i have in fact seen one clip of the show in which the islanders seriously discuss how lizard people in suits run the world and immediately noped out and never touched it again) anywaysss my friend kota said it was pretty cool, i'm kinda disappointed because she's not going to be there with me (we signed up with the intention of it being our last summer before we go to different colleges and likely never see eachother again) but oh well. i'm going to be forced to make new friends and do sports. i'm going to scour twitter and tumblr for posts about NCS and then go to sleep see you in five days! what up!! do you ever randomly have memories of complete strangers pop into your head?! I recall this one lady with blond hair and glasses and her ginger curly haired son from the line in poundland when I was younger. I don't remember what they said but I think I was anxious about being left in the line alone while mum popped off to get something she'd forgotten? she was so kind. I still remember her face so vividly.

hey hey hey! so i was holding off on this post since at first i didn’t really want to just tell you what to buy and you go off and get it.  n o.  n o.  n o. that’s not how we do it here. instead i’m going to make a few suggestions and things that may aspire you so you can adapt and play with these to suit yourself! alright so first things first: c o l o u r s - think autumn (the season where all dark academics come out from their  underground hideouts and late night cafes and explore the surface) - think maroons and dark plumes, oranges and mustards, reds of all different   shades (we like to keep it diverse here) and dark greens next things next: items of clothing i think as long as you stick to the color scheme most things should work out fine but a lot of people seem to think turtlenecks and expensive tweed jackets are a must when in reality that’s not the case (tbh all i have is one turtleneck) - think blazers and plaid shirts and denim jackets with wristwatches and pendants - think mom jeans and thin belts and sweaters (mixing it up a lil) or even an     off-white tshirt with a fitting print

and last things last: y o u so as much as the dark academia fandom distinctly wears and deems as dark academic i think you should be able to wear whatever you like -you’re here because you like the look and feel of it but what about those who  can’t afford it or just don’t feel comfortable? those are my exact thoughts honestly wear what you think suits you at the end of the day stick with the basic colours and/or vibe and boom! academic
