genuinely feel like the writers were approaching the lightning thief with a blood of olympus era mentality. like chiron asking percy if he agreed with luke's points? that is something percy thinks about five years from now walking through tartarus. a lot of the attitude they gave percy and especially sally regarding the gods, the overall tone of the show, is more reminiscent of how the characters we're meeting now started to feel after the titan war had ended. i think it will be interesting to see how they escalate these feelings if we are starting at the book canon's peak of anti-olympus sentiment
i vote to have a scene where clarisse jumps luke after hearing he’s calling her the lightning thief
George Floyd. asphyxiated until he died in Minneapolis, he beg and said that he couldn't breath. a cop had his knee on his neck. he died. the cop has been fired. no prosecuted. not charge with first degree murder.
Regis Korchinski-Paquet. pushed off her own balcony in Toronto. she died at the scene.
Tony McDade. trans man murdered in Tallahassee. the very few news that reported his murder misgender him.
Scream their names. Remember their name. Remember why they died. Remember the anger and the pain. Black Lives Matter. They have ways matter and always will. Silence is violence. Staying silent is not an option. Sign the petitions, text, send mails, donate to their memorial.
Ares saying he hates his own kids and the worst day of the year is when they visit him makes my heart break for Clarisse more. Clarisse fights so hard for scraps of her father’s attention and Ares sees her as just another nuisance. He doesn’t care about her unless she’s able to serve him. But Clarisse (like Annabeth) thinks she just has to work harder for him to love her. In her mind, it’s all her fault. Which is why she is so angry when little punk Percy strolls in at twelve years old, no training and unclaimed, and immediately defeats the minotaur. In three days hes already got the gods attention and his father claimed him. Of course she’s angry.
this is their dynamic
i’m gonna cry it’s raining right now and i just passed by a family where both parents were without an umbrella but their kid who couldn’t have been older than like 3-4 was proudly holding this GIANT umbrella whose diameter was as tall (if not taller) as the kid. both the parents were getting absolutely drenched but u could tell the kid was just so happy to have an “adult” task and carry the umbrella themselves and i think that sacrifice is what love is all about
This right here is the thesis statement for the entire Percy Jackson series.
I know that we've gotten 500 unnecessary Twilight retellings but what I really want is a retelling of Mockingjay where instead of Katniss getting rescued at the end of CF, it's Peeta, and he spends at least half the book gaslighting, gatekeeping, and girlbossing his way through this entire situation, completely derails Coin's attempts to use him as a political mouthpiece by weaponizing her own manipulation against her, and in general being an insufferable nuisance who is just so good at charming everybody into siding with him that Coin gives up and agrees to rescue Katniss
