I think a good way to describe my "human" body or self would be calling it my outward-facing form or my idle form. I may appear human to most, but on all levels I am not, including physically. just because I appear human doesn't mean that I am. I may describe how I look as human, but this is only for simplicity for the people around me.
my idle form is what everyone else sees, it's what I see and feel too on a daily basis. I don't like the idea of having to describe myself as half human and half nonhuman because that's not true, I am 100% nonhuman. there are some people who do feel fluctuations with their human and nonhuman feelings/thoughts and parts of themselves, but that's not my experience.
in more werewolf-like terms, I know that in media representation it describes them as a human turning into a wolf. but I'm just a canine/wolf/avian/whatever else I call myself. I wouldn't be turning into anything else except my truest self when I finally have a successful shift or when I finally have all of the limbs I'm meant to have. I'm simply an animal/creature that got crunched into a human-ish body with a human-adjacent consciousness.
what I appear to be is simply a facade with my real body and mind underneath the seams, with my real body idle on the outside but active on the inside.
----
idle form - the form that's given to us on the outside that appears human
active form - the form that's the truest form of who we are on the inside that we shift into on the outside (or if you're not a shifter, the form that you take over time as you grow your limbs that you're meant to grow) (if your form doesn't appear on the outside, this still can apply to you if you're an intrashifter for example, where your outside body doesn't change but internally you do)
(just a little ramble that I added on to, I felt like sharing it with y'all since there might be someone out there that might resonate with this post!!)

*whispers* (I’m whispering because it’s very important that we keep this very low key)
hey, you know that ancient grimoire you’ve been searching for but can’t get shipped to your country, is probably on Anna’s Archives. Yeah… you could download it for free… pretty much any text you can think of regardless of how old it is, it’s probably on there… give it a little searchy search and you’ll probably find the entire book for free… just saying.
Having a hard copy is always nice. But when I’m trying to figure out if a grimoire is worth dumping money on… it’s always nice to have a little free trial,…
just saying ….
Music Magick
Music has long been recognized as a powerful tool for evoking emotions, altering consciousness, and connecting with the divine. In the realm of witchcraft, music can be used to enhance rituals, set intentions, and amplify energy. Here are some ways to incorporate music into your magickal practice:
• Listening to specific songs to help you get in the right mood and mindset for the spell/ritual you're going to perform.
• Creating/charging sigils.
• Magickal choreography (casting spells by dancing).
• Use music to guide a meditation, or meditate on the song itself, its meaning, and what emotion it represents.
• Using beats/rhythms to induce a trance state.
• Sing your incantations.
• Keep music on in the background while doing your craft or studying magick to raise your vibration and improve your results.
• Audiomancy; divination through music (ie: specific lyrics or songs playing at synchronistic times).
• Create playlists for/with the deities and spirits you work with. This can be used as both an offering and an invocation.
• Listen to angry music while doing baneful magick to amplify your rage.
I saw a dead elk yesterday.
Her carcass was bare
not even a month old and already
stripped of hide, muscle, flesh
reeking of death
reeking of new life.
I saw where coyotes chewed
her ribs, her neck,
each leg separate, strewn far from
the body they once supported.
The legs go last, always, fur still visible
above the hoof as insects burrow beneath.
I flipped her skull over, peered at
her dull, cracking teeth.
She lived, ate, for at least 5 years.
She probably had a few calves.
Does she know her death is good?
The end of one life,
the start of a million more.
Nobody wants to die,
but I think she knows.
reminder than simply being outside, drinking water, opening the windows, sun bathing and moon glancing, etc. are all real devotional acts to our earth — no matter how small !!!
being low on time, effort, and energy does NOT make you a bad witch or pagan. it makes you human.

When I say "connect with nature" I don't just mean the aesthetic forests with deer and beautiful flowers.
I mean the weeds growing through concrete, the fungus that grows on the rotten shed, the nettles that always seem to return and the scary, spindly cellar spider in the corner of the bathroom.
Nature is not always pretty or magical - the pigeons and seagulls you swat at are nature too, the wasps and flies that hover by your meals are animals too, store-bought strawberries and the leaves that fall from your neighbour's tree are not all that different from the Giant Sequoias and it's seeds.
If you want to connect and understand nature, I mean *really* connect to it, in it's entirety, you have to seek out and learn about the ugly, scary and mundane things as well. You don't have to like it, just don't forget that it's there.
Hi im a baby witch, if you could give witches like me one piece of advice, what would it be?
It's only over when you stop hoping. Hope is one of the strongest, oldest types of magic in human history. It powers you. Hope is the energy source, the other emotions are your guiding light. It was hope that kept me going for twenty years. It was hope for a better future that kept humans pushing forward through wars, plague, and famine. If you lose hope, what's the point, right?
