What Essential Oils Boost Self-Love 🩷

Promoting self-love and self-acceptance means nurturing a positive relationship with yourself. While essential oils can’t directly create self-love, their soothing aromas can help cultivate a calming and uplifting space that supports emotional wellness and self-care.

Here are six essential oils commonly associated with enhancing relaxation, reducing stress, and encouraging self-compassion:

1. Rose – Often called the “queen” of essential oils, rose is deeply connected to love and emotional healing. Its gentle floral scent promotes relaxation, uplifts your mood, and encourages self-acceptance and inner compassion.

2. Geranium – Known for its sweet, balancing aroma, geranium can ease anxiety, reduce stress, and promote emotional harmony. It helps create a peaceful environment that gently supports a positive mindset and self-love.

3. Frankincense – With its earthy, woody aroma, frankincense is a favorite for spiritual practices. It encourages introspection and self-reflection, making it perfect for creating a serene space for self-awareness and acceptance.

4. Lavender – A classic for relaxation, lavender’s calming properties ease tension and support emotional balance. It’s ideal for nurturing a self-care practice that fosters inner peace and self-worth.

5. Sandalwood – Grounding and soothing, sandalwood is often used in meditation to deepen spiritual connection and promote inner clarity. It helps create a sacred space for reflection and self-compassion.

6. Neroli – Derived from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree, neroli has a soft citrus-floral scent that soothes the nerves, lifts the mood, and fosters a sense of gentle self-appreciation.

Remember: Self-love is a holistic journey. While essential oils are beautiful allies, they work best alongside other practices like mindfulness, affirmations, journaling, and reaching out for support when needed.

My house is alive. And I do not mean figuratively.

I mean it has a mind of its own.

My House Is Alive. And I Do Not Mean Figuratively.

My house is mine. I designed the layout, I watched it get built, I decorated it. From the size of the front door to the paint color palette… from the fabric of the sofa to the style of the photo frames… everything was my decision. It’s as mine as mine gets.

So the moment I introduced myself to it, it started talking back.

We have a courtyard full of trees and plants, so there’s a healthy amount of bugs outside, which sometimes get in when the front door is open. I hate that. I hate that very much.

So I told my house to never let those intruders in. The next day, without having to spray anything, I saw several dead bugs on the floor. I swept them up. And never again did I see anything flying or crawling around the house.

Another time, I had a plumbing issue. My bidet wouldn’t stop running, and the bathtub wouldn’t drain completely.

I told my house how much I hate having to let maintenance workers in, because they often leave a mess, which I have to spend hours sanitizing afterwards. I asked my house if it could help me avoid this somehow.

In just about five seconds, the bidet stopped running, and the bathtub fully drained.

Over the holidays, a relative came over for dinner. Having eaten so much, she felt sluggish and asked if she could sleep over. Now I don’t really like this relative. I included her in the guest list as an act of Christmas kindness, but sleeping over? That’s too much.

While I was thinking of how to reject her request, the power went out. And the moment she left the gate, the electricity came back on. I asked the neighbors about it later on, and they said their power was on the whole night.

Another time, I lost the remote control to my living room air conditioner. Which was impossible. It’s always in the same place, and I was alone that whole time.

While looking for it everywhere, I ended up opening a drawer I never use. In it I found white mold, which likely developed during the few months I lived abroad, leaving that part of the house susceptible to humidity. I’ve since taken care of the problem.

Right after I discovered the mold, I found the missing remote control right there on top of my coffee table. Where it always is. Where I couldn’t have missed it.

My house is one of those things that make me what I am — a traditional witch, despite how modern my life is. It reminds me that even though my ancestors wouldn’t recognize many parts of my craft, I remain their child. Their blood is within me, ready to awake when required.

Music Magick

Music has long been recognized as a powerful tool for evoking emotions, altering consciousness, and connecting with the divine. In the realm of witchcraft, music can be used to enhance rituals, set intentions, and amplify energy. Here are some ways to incorporate music into your magickal practice:

• Listening to specific songs to help you get in the right mood and mindset for the spell/ritual you're going to perform.

• Creating/charging sigils.

• Magickal choreography (casting spells by dancing).

• Use music to guide a meditation, or meditate on the song itself, its meaning, and what emotion it represents.

• Using beats/rhythms to induce a trance state.

• Sing your incantations.

• Keep music on in the background while doing your craft or studying magick to raise your vibration and improve your results.

• Audiomancy; divination through music (ie: specific lyrics or songs playing at synchronistic times).

• Create playlists for/with the deities and spirits you work with. This can be used as both an offering and an invocation.

• Listen to angry music while doing baneful magick to amplify your rage.

Being with the Gods is feeling the air fill your lungs, letting yourself be lulled to sleep under their protection, waking up under the sun—it truly is like coming home.

They have always been, they always will be. They're here for you to pray to, no matter what happens.

Hi! Werewolf/wolf shifter here.

Is it possible to be both a were and a vampire?

hello!

yes, it's completely possible, as I've heard that vampirism (sanguinarian, aka those who drink blood, and the energetic type that takes energy spiritually from people or things) is more of an addition to an individual rather than a species of its own and can occur in any nonhuman species as well as humans!

Wolf shifter here 🐾.

Do you have any tips to getting motivation to start shifting again??

hi!

I think something that might help with motivation is going back to the beginning of your journey and why you want to shift in the first place. what are your goals and dreams and what do you want to achieve by shapeshifting? I feel like surrounding yourself with feelings of empowerment and inspiration could help jumpstart motivation and help you get back on track.

also, triggering m-shifts or surrounding yourself with themes or feelings relating to your instincts/species etc could help too. for me, having m-shifts or phantom shifts inspires me to want to p-shift.

if you have stuff like masks, tails, ears, or other things that can make you more wolf-like, it might help to dress in the colors of your wolf side or put things on that makes you look like a wolf. for me when I put on ears or tails I always wish they were physical and when I wear brown clothes (bc my fur is brown) I tend to wish it was my fur, so putting things together to make yourself look like your wolf self might help with motivation to shapeshift so that you CAN have your ears/tail/paws/fangs/fur again.

if anyone else has any other tips, feel free to add on!

I found this amusing post in the tags so I'm responding to it in a new post, but

"Why won't p-shifters stop calling themselves p-shifters?"

Because p-shifter is short, sweet and to the point - p-shifter means physical shifter, and even if you don't like the "p" abbreviation (like I don't) shifter is just sort for shapeshifter, a general common use word

The community is fragmented so it'd be hard for all of us to change the word; try getting ALL p-shifters to call themselves "body distorters" or something like that

This would be seen as escaping our responsibility to fix the problems in our community. If we all just switch to a new word without fixing the problems, we're just creating a new community where abuses can happen. It's better to fix what you have than run from your problems

We would lose access to all our resources and community. If you're not a p-shifter you don't have access to p-shifter resources, and while the content of some resources might be dubious (like magic-based turning guides) there's enough good things there that losing it would impact people negatively. People would also find the community harder to access and be unable to understand what they are.

Side note: I think otherkin would be dubious of a p-shifter rebrand anyway? Like I think if we all got together and decided to call ourselves "aniforms" or something similar, guaranteed there'd be a call-out post saying "p-shifters are now calling themselves aniforms to infiltrate the otherkin community! They won't take responsibility for their past, that's why they're skirting responsibility by using a new word!" So we can't win 🤷
