Please give me a chance if you like experimental but realistic fics. These end happily, but they certainly explore character flaws and failings along the way;)

What ought to be one of George's proudest days in America ends up being his saddest. Maybe it's his own doing. He's always been a little too sharp-tongued and frivolous. Maybe it's his ineptitude. He's never quite been able to pour out his feelings to the world. Or maybe it's his destiny. To be another shitty father in a long line of shitty fathers. Luckily, he has Dream to talk him out of spiraling.

Five years to the day the Dream Team moved in together, it all falls apart. One window, two noses and three hearts are broken. Dream presses a desperate kiss to George’s bloodied lips and wonders where things went so wrong.

This is a miniseries based on real life events surrounding George and Sapnap’s UK meet up. It runs parallel to some of the updates we got from the dteam… like an imaginary backstory or behind-the-scenes.

I read the fic a while ago and it was like, dream had a lot of money from his shitty dead dad and he and George were spending it traveling but they’d also kind of fight and it wasn’t exactly a healthy relationship but It was really potent and I think I discovered it on this page

Remus twirls his fingers, sending sickly green tendrils of fog down every hallway in the mind palace, seeking out the other sides. Unless they know exactly what it is, they won’t be able to do anything about it, and the only one who would know is Janus. But Janus is asleep now, because sleep is self care and all that bullshit. So it doesn’t matter.

He spreads his fingers wide, tugging lightly, and grinning as he realizes that each side is trapped now. Trapped in a hell of his own making.

Summary: Remus is lost in thoughts of things that scare or upset him, Virgil comes to help him break out of them

Well Remus has always been one to have dark thoughts, to revel in the decaying, destructive and death-touched, but sometimes that became too much and twisted. Occasionally his thoughts stop being on the things he likes but turn to the words that tore into him, to the people he swore didn’t matter to him but actually still terrified him, to everything that his brain could bring up to make him feel like shit.

On days like those he would flounder and drown in his thoughts, nothing to anchor him, or bring him out of it. Why would there be anything? He lived alone and had nobody there to realise something was wrong.

Or, Dream and George are school rivals, and when Dream takes it a bit too far and spreads a rumour that leaves them as pretend boyfriends, George decides to teach him a lesson.

Academic rivals Dream and George get stuck sharing a room for their senior year at Pine Hill Academy. Dream doesn't have time to waste arguing with George; they already do that plenty during Robotics meetings and every other situation where the two of them are forced to work together. He's got more important things, like football and college to worry about. When George begins to disappear at odd intervals, Dream finds himself more concerned than he thinks he should be.

Dream and George hated each other. No—they absolutely despised each other—and it had been that way for years.

Everyone knew it too. Their families, friends, hell the entire school knew of their burning dislike for every fiber of the other's being.

Which was why their (apparently very stupid) friends, thought it would be a great idea to set them up on a date, and leave the two of them uninformed that it would be with the one person they hated.

And, as if that wasn't enough, a bet was made to stir up more drama.

The Exchange Student by small_latte

Dream knew his spot on the football team was practically guaranteed, having played quarterback since his freshman year (one of the youngest in the school’s history, he’d been told). His life was playing out like a bad teen Disney movie, minus the head cheerleader hanging off his arm. He hadn’t exactly intended for that to be the case - he was just naturally athletic, he was polite, he found it easy to make friends.

A warm voice came from the front of the room, “And please welcome our exchange student this year, George Davidson. He’s here from our sister-school in London, and will be on campus until summer next year.”

Karl's hosting the new exchange student, and Dream wants to adopt him into his little group of dumb loud friends. It takes Dream a while to realise that he's actually falling in love.
