Most IT workers probably wish “end user” was a command rather than a description.
Writing prompt:
When you enter The Cozy Coven, you are drawn, or compelled, to one of the little alcoves behind one of the woven and adorned curtains. There you sit until you are served. There are no menus, no fare boards, no servers to recite the daily offerings. The proprietors know exactly what you need and, if they deem you worthy, or if they just take a liking to you, you will receive exactly that.
In previous visits, you've received exquisite cloth, the sweetest nectar, and the most sumptuous stew you'd ever tasted.
Today, it is the alcove behind the green curtain with gold-frosted beads that calls to you. You take your seat and find you are served a dull, black rock; and when you touch it, it hums.
Today is "pretend to be a time traveler day": It is December 8, 1918 and we're well-into what's being called the second wave of this deadly flu. I have one chance to travel to the future to find a cure and save mankind. But to when do I travel? There are no hints or clues to guide me. I must rely on logic and fate. For logic, I suppose a century would be sufficient time for scientists to rid the world of all that ails mankind. For fate, this is the second wave of the flu. So, 102 years into the future I boldly go.
It's called "deflection" and it's cowardly bullshit. Everyone needs to take responsibility for their actions. Period.
JUST. KEEP. ASKING.
Extremism in any form is harmful. I know it's the only way to get media hype these days, but it's counterproductive. Let's hear it for measured, thoughtful actions based on verifiable, reproducible data, and a dose of common decency.
[TLDR: animal cruelty is just a dick move; it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, but being a dick about it actually results in more fuckery.]
I am 100% against both animal cruelty and PETA. Reblog if you think so too.
