I saw this meme going around and then my hand slipped 

I looked up the symbolism of the flowers seen on penumbra's Instagram. I think the flowers are meant to be a represent penumbra's character. These flowers are often associated with peace, innocence and rebirth. In a way she's an innocent villain because of her morals (protecting the environment, wanting to cure the umbras ECT), after the sunblast incident she's become a new person she's been reborn at lest that's what she's says and as far as her Instagram shows she's living a peaceful life since the events of the villainous pilot although whether or not it's going to stay that way depends on the future I mean she does kind of work for black hat now but for now she's at peace. Another fun fact about peace lilies is can't be left in direct sunlight I mean they can still be left in well lit areas but they're still sensitive to it much like the how penumbra can't go in direct sunlight but can still hang around lit areas like her house or how she can go outside during cloudy weather. I know some people are concerned because it's a flower often used at funerals and think it's foreshadowing her death but people use lilies in funeral in hopes that the deceased will find peace and regain their innocence after death. Maybe her first attempt of curing herself with the lightbulb was a metaphorical death because although she failed she saw it as an opportunity to grow as a person.
