If you’re playing shoots and ladders he’ll say

“You can climb up ever so high, Flug… But eventually you’ll fall down.”

If he’s playing Monopoly he’ll say

“I will own your soil before you know it, Flug. It’s just business.”

And if they’re playing charades he’ll keep saying:

“Dance, little monkey, the clock is ticking.”

I think 5.0.5. is just as villainous as the others, but in a subtle way. 1) 5.0.5 -> BH as Alan -> Alan’s dad, right? So then maybe 5.0.5. will be interested in villains like Alan is now. He’s not the failure BH says he is; he just hasn’t grown into the role. 2) Maybe it won’t matter if 5.0.5.’s not evil. His saintly, unwavering love may be his most heinous trait. It lets him turn a blind eye to, forgive, condone, or defend the actions of his evil fam even as he grows old enough to take a stand.

VILLAINOUS CONFERENCE IN COLOMBIA 4.0 (7th of November)

Alan Ituriel, the creator of Villainous, went to a conference in Colombia today! He talked about animation, Villainous, its evolution and he gave tips about how to start your business in the animation industry, as well as an amazing motivational speech. He’s a wonderful person and a sweetheart, I swear. He also thanked the fans a lot for liking Villainous, and even showed some fan creations and cosplays, and talked about how he never expected his show to be successful outside of latam.

He talked about the importance of making your characters alive, allowing the audience to connect with them and feel their emotions and relate to them, and also about making the audience feel like they’re in the same world as the characters. He does this with Penumbra’s instagram and the secret websites, making us feel like they’re all real. Imo, this is what makes this show so amazing. Alan really knows how to make his characters and story likeable and attractive. He puts the story as the most important thing in a show, above animation, and I really appreciate this. It shows that Villainous has a very promising future. He’s tried to show us the very extensive lore through numerous ways, even in the 1 minute shorts. He said that all of the backgrounds are supervised by him, and everything on them is put there on purpose, to tell us the story in a different way other than yknow, the characters speaking.

He also talks about the importance of the voice actors. ‘Jefecito chulo’, aka Flug’s most iconic nickname for Black Hat, was not in the script. Flug’s most peculiar characteristics are not in the script, it’s all his VA. That’s how important they are. They give an extra layer of attributes to the character.

The last photo shows how much the project has changed over the years, as well as the others showing how the characters evolved. He animated both of those scenes. He linked this speech with the motivational one, telling how being good at something is about practice and practice, and to never let anyone drag you down, because even your closest friends can turn on you. You must be strong. You are the only one that matters in the end. ‘If I could do it, you can.’ ‘Even if everyone dislikes what you’re doing, keep going forward and show it, because someone out there has to like it. Even if it’s just one person.’ He is entirely self-taught. His family has no animators, or people in the TV industry. He did it all on his own, with perseverance and hard work.

His story is very inspiring, I have MAD respect for him and his show, and I’ll support him til the very end.
