Fuck it
Extremely important image from my girlfriend’s fridge
This is just somebody's dungeon and dragons campaign, no way a Netflix found a group that can genuinly write the trope of a dead kid and actually execute it gracefully /J /LH
Hhhhh I should probably prepare for the DnD game next week, but what am I but a beacon of procrastination waiting until the last minute to set up everything for my players?
Holding fem Byleth very dearly right now
Major spoilers & very large block of text under cut
Do you think she always got called doll-like as a child? Do you think when her body changed beyond her control the comment appeared more often? Do you think sometimes people stare and take a breath when she actually moves? Do you think in houses she doesn't go in the worship building because the coloured glass makes her look ethereal? That she no longer feels real? That the world around her feels so real, yet she doesn't? That she's always been isolated from the world, but now there is no way to bridge the gap because people did things to her body that she never even knew and in some routes never will know? You think she stays awake at night thinking about how nobody even tried to tell her? That even after the death of her father, her one protector, the people who did this to her still never told her and tried to use her. That because of politics and religion and her flesh, because her very heart, she will never truly get to close the social gap between her and the world.
Do you think she's finally happy in the end of houses Crimson Flower? That she finally feels like a real person? That she is free from the church? That when she looked in a mirror she cried to see her eyes and hair colour? That her body is under her control again?
I feel so fucking cruel watering the plants and seeing a bunch of little bumblebees swirl around the air in shock like I'm sorry I wouldn't have done that if I knew you were there I'm sorry
Watch as I write a whole essay on why the writting in "DOTA: Dragon's blood" is outstanding and designed perfectly to prey upon your emotions in the best way possible.
Not even about the characters or the plot itself, just how they give their viewers information!!
Especially in the invoker's backstory, it is in there for all of the story but they really popped off with that one part in particular!!!
So once as a DM I had a puzzle where they had to give up the object a stone inscription said in order to open the prison and save their favorite NPC
"Something that is dead but still lives"
And they had literally just beaten the heck out of undead warriors
Player one: Dm, did you say the drugs I stole from the crown's gaurd plants or mushrooms?
Me: mushrooms
Player 1: "Okay, so do we want to give up the drugs for Valentine"
Player 2: "They're my boyfriend, so yes we want to give up the drugs."
Player 1: "but they are my drugs, and it isn't my life on the line so,,,,"
Player 3: "you can always just pick them back up when valentine is out"
Player 1: "fair enough fair enough" Lorain sets mushrooms on pedestal
Me: the room begins to shake and the pedestal disapears into the floor with the mushrooms, then an oppening in the the wall appears revealing the half orc valentine who looks up and runs into Fringe's arms. He is bloodied and bruised but nothing looks too permanent. Valentine signs to you all "I am so glad you are hear we need to-"
Player 1: Lorain raises their hands to stop him "First we need to get my drugs back!"
Player 3: Filraen begins looking for ways to pull the drugs back up from the stone
Me: make a investigation check for me
Player 1: Can I help him?
Player 2: Can we focus on valentine? Maybe Lorain can cast heal wounds since he is beat up??
Me: You get advantage on the investigation check
Player 3: 4
Me: all you find in the low light is remains from the plauge zombies, making it hard to find much of anything
Player 1: Valintine can have some if he can help me get my drugs back
Me: Valentine's face tenses as he shakes his head "I am wounded, and a recovered addict. I don't want them."
Player 2: If only someone could help the wounded aspect of that.
The amount of people who find out their family replaced their pet fish makes me inclined to agree animals can be replaced by the stranger
Somewhere in the archives is a statement where a small child is so certain their parents replaced their hamster and is lying to them and now the hamster escapes every night and claws inside the walls and leaves scratches on their skin and eats their things(specifically their homework for funny reasons) but in the morning they find the hamster and their parents don't belive them and are quite firm in the "No this is the same hamster you've always had you are just making up stories"
And Jon looks at the child giving the statement and agrees yeah his parents replaced the hamster but this is a normal not super natrual thing, but how did a small child make it to the archives on their own?? Where are it parents???
In tma, they said that the fears are also fears of animals too. They just glossed over this, but I have questions.
Can dogs be replaced by the stranger and you not notice? Do lab mice get trapped in the spiral if they are put in the maze too much? Can rabbits be avatars of the lonely if you don't give them a friend? Could a crow become a beholder?
I wish this was explored further. We saw the murder pig. I wanna know if there is some more fucked up animal avatars.
