Can we pretend that Slugpups in the night sky are like shooting stars?
IIRC, the reason Spearmaster doesn't have a Mark of Communication at campaign start is because of being taught sign language "the hard way", but gets it from Five Pebbles on the played "return trip".
OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH I completely missed that bit of information. Daw Suns 🥺
I love that they want to be on the same level of language from what I read in a reblog. Makes my heart clench something mean.
Has the spug tried to teach Spearmaster anything other than wawa?
The slup has taught SM how to harmlessly play! Something SM has never really done before.
BABY GURRRRLLL, THE BABY GWORL WITH THE TRAUMA, TRAUMA ON THAT BABY GWORRRRTLLL
Artificer’s genocide hasn’t happened yet, meaning the scavs aren’t deathly afraid of slugpup parents. Are they buddy buddy as of now, or do they have a bad relationship with Spearmaster or the pup for whatever reason and cause issues?
Oh they best buds - bros - at the hip; sometimes they hunt together whenever SM is in town.
They made a big fuss over the mini-SM during the first meeting but more in a Where-Did-You-Come-From? and You're-So-Smol! kind of fuss rather than a negative first impression.
There was a lot of poking and prodding from both the Scavengers and the little Scup.
…Spearmaster learning what uppies are?
SM nearly had an entire spiral not understanding what the sluppy wanted but luckily the baby took things into their own grippers. SM definitely knows what to do next time when there's insistent grabbies in their face.
has SM taught the child how to draw? i think they would bond or possible communicate with drawing
SM often likes to draw out survival lessons for the slup to learn from; the strength and weaknesses of enemies, how to foster relationships, how to look out for danger, etc.
This particular lesson session isn't the first, but it IS the first time the slup has taken to mimicking SM's artistic capabilities to convey something they've been wanting to share for a while.
They didn't expect SM to be so emotionally devestated /positive by what they drew, but they're very happy that they feel similar. Despite the horrifying expression that came of it.
did the spearmaster in your AU send moon's final message?
They did!
They were on their way back to SRS when they encountered the baby which halted their plans. They’re not sure if the pup could make the journey safely so now they’re just, floating around the In-Game regions.
They don’t have much of a plan in general, they just want to keep the slup safe and happy for the mean time.
Maybe they’ll visit Moon again with the pup in tow and she might give them an idea or two. 🫣
How did SM get slugpup to trust them? By stabbing everything around it?
You could say that
I just want to talk about this moment in the saint campaign, because it really, really struck me.
The climb up the silent monument is harsh, you're scaling a dead god's corpse, countless dangerous creatures now roaming the halls of a once glorious superstructure. You, a literally defenceless slugcat, despite all this, scale up the unforgiving walls and face the harrowing winter storms, all to reach pebbles. He isn't anything anymore, no better than a piece of rubbish you would find on the floor.
No snarky comments or insults are thrown towards you, hell, he doesn't even acknowledge your existence until you walk right up to him, listening to the last thing he has left, his music. A gentle, repeating tune completely in contrast to the billowing snowstorm around him.
Pebbles gave up everything he had, giving up his last lifeline that prevented him from collapsing, all to try and redeem himself in the eyes of his big sis.
And now here you are, visiting him again, who knows how many cycles later, his state an eerie resemblance to Moon when we first ever met her.
Five Pebbles isn't a bad person per se, yes, his actions are inexcusable, he almost killed his own sister. But it wasn't out of spite, or hatred, but out of what he believed was necessity. The instructions the Ancients had given him, and all the other iterators, were cruel. An answer to an impossible question. Pebble's mistake was that he believed wholeheartedly that a solution could be reached, he believed his parents, like a child, he wanted to finish the job he had been created to complete.
Yet he never realised when to let go.
They should have kept the glitch where the game over screen happened if your pup died because you bet your ass I'll turn my ass into grass just to get my baby back.
