he loves it when you just sit there & play with his hair. especially if he has his head in your lap, and he can lay there with his eyes closed and relax into your touch.
at first he is hesitant about kissing you — his heart rate starts to spike and he’s worried about the other guy making an appearance. but some soft touches from you keep him grounded, even when things start to get steamy.
he remembers every little thing you tell him & comes up with the most thoughtful gifts based on that. sometimes they are handmade and you can tell he spent weeks on them. he just likes seeing you light up.
he is very tactile. he loves just having a hand on your back, or having your fingers laced together. your presence calms him.
after fights and missions, he knows he can just come and cuddle you. he likes it when you sing to him and rub his back. he doesn’t even bother with his headphones anymore because he would rather hear your voice.
if things start to get heated in an argument, he has to lock himself in a room and talk to you through the door. the last thing he wants to do is hurt you.
he does the rubbing his thumb against the back of your hand thing.
he isn’t great at expressing how he feels with words. at least not out loud. so he writes it down and leaves you little notes around the tower/compound.
he would defend you to the ends of the earth. he doesn’t have a particularly possessive side, but he gets protective if people talk down to you.
he loves you harder than you’ve ever been loved before.
a dysfunctional found family with dark pasts and no brain cells who saved the day with the power of friendship can be so personal
no because it’s really really important to me that in a world where we’re so used to the heroes punching and shooting their way to victory, thunderbolts* went out of its way to show us that the void is still very much a part of bob, and bob is their friend, so they’re going to accept every facet of who he is and give him a soft place to land, even if that means they’ll have to be the ones to pull him back from the darkness every single time. because that’s what friends family will do for each other, no questions asked.
real quick rant
i think genuinely that the worst ending for stranger things except the one where all the main characters die or the one where the bad guys win, is the ending where main characters achieve the life they inadvertently worked so hard against in the series.
in so many shows the ending is the exact opposite of the prominent ground morals so many characters are shown to have throughout the entire show. where a characters innermost desires and freedoms are shown through their actions and wants, and yet their entire ending is shown to be just that fear. the fear that they’re gonna end up just like the ones before them, and that none of their actions truly had any impact.
it shows that the cycle continues.
an example of this would be say if nancy ended up like her mom. if she settled down in a suburb with a husband she didn’t care much about and kids she wanted better for, she would end up exactly like karen. not only with the life nancy didn’t want for herself, but also the life karen didn’t want for her kids.
this is a very real possibility with some of the main characters in the show. if we look at the reasoning behind their original choices, we can see why they do what they do. which is exactly why this is so dangerous, and such an easy trap to fall into.
the safest choice is always the easiest.
the duffer brothers have been shown to be bold at times, but they’re resorting more and more to the default as the show’s popularity expands. the true quality of the final ending will not be about the ending itself, but about how bold they are willing to be when addressing these issues and the protagonists feelings.
they can have the cinematography down to the dot and still completely mess up the ending if they decide to take the safe route.
if will never addresses his feelings openly, if max ends up dead, or worse, wakes up unharmed. if steve ends up at his dad’s company, if dustin never gets to grieve properly, if el doesn’t find the path she herself chooses, and not the ones others choose for her.
it is because of these character’s faults and ability to love openly that we like them. that they still have some relevancy to this day even if the show takes place in the 80’s. we are able to relate to them and connect to them as human beings, as outcasts throughout, and it will be the lack of this spark that could be the potential downfall of stranger things.

all the bat kids just start calling Babs ‘Chat’ whenever she’s Oracle over the comms
The joker: *evil monologue*
Damian, in the most bored voice: Chat is this real?

Dick: CHAT CLIP THAT!!

Jason, distracted by goons: opps on these guys chat?
And they never went back on land.
The End. 😌
Bookshop dates- This mainly involves following each other around for the first ten minutes, and then losing each other. They occasionally go back to the other to excitedly whisper “Look what I found <3″, after they found a book they’d been wanting or the other had been after. By the end of the trip, both their arms would be full, but Anne would always insist on carrying Cathy’s, so Anne’s arms would be overflowing. Cathy’s first stop is usually the classic or high-fantasy section, and Anne’s is the sci-fi/Manga or a graphic novel section.
Picnics- This would be the time where Anne is the least like a gremlin, because 1) there is food, 2) they’re at the park and dogs always come up to them (I headcanon both of them being dog people), 3) Cathy looks beautiful in the sunlight. Anne always tries to cuddle Cathy, and Cathy’s always trying not to choke on whatever she’s eating bc Anne is tickling her.
Stargazing trips- Cathy knows all the names of the stars and constellations, and she’ll rant about their stories too. Anne listens, not even looking at the stars but just at how beautiful Cathy is in the starlight. They lie on top of their car, which is a beat-up blue jeep with mud all along the sides.
not-really-a-date-but-I-wanted-to-write-about-it - Anne will just randomly come into Cathy’s room with coffee and then she’ll sit on Cathy’s bed, just watching her write. The tap of the keyboard eases her, and watching Cathy turn around to hand her the writing to read makes her really happy bc Cathy doesn’t share her work with anyone else until it’s fully finished.
In this moment, I am humanity, I write. The last of my kind.
Of course, this isn’t true, but the one thing the invasion hasn’t sucked out of me is my dramatics.
Before the aliens came I was Samantha, an average girl who was averagely good at everything. Now I'm a prodigy of gunmanship. A side effect of using a Remington 700 for the past few months. Remy is my pride and joy, my last true companion, the only thing left I can trust. I trust her with my life, which is a good thing seeing as it’s the last thing I have left to defend myself with.
Now I don’t know who I am. The invasion has taken everything from me.
Every day I run, I find shelter, I write in this stupid journal hoping that something good will happen. But it never works. Of course it never works. The aliens don’t care, why would they?
I sit up. The woods are silent, not uncommon considering I haven’t seen another human for weeks. But even now, they are silent- no birds chirping, no trees laughing, no breeze whispering. But a strange electric current hangs in the air, humming gently and tickling the backs of my ears and neck.
I am not alone.
