(There's a slight mention of an unhealthy relationship)
Louisette stepped out of her car. It's been a long drive from her hometown to Paris, the city her friend lived in. She stood in front of a two-story house and pressed the doorbell. A black-haired woman, wearing a simple dress, opened the door.
"Bonjour, Cosette," greeted Louisette.
"Oh,my! Mon amie, why didn't you tell me you're going to visit me? I would've dressed more neatly!" Cosette pulled Louisette into a hug. She hugged her for a while.
Louisette smiled. "You look much more happier than before, friend. Didn't hear anything about him?"
"No, except from that article you wrote last week!" Cosette said. "I don't know why did you publish it, Louisette. Being separated from him is already enough for me."
"He didn't work his way to fame, Cosette. He just rode on yours. And that man– that man wasn't grateful enough to treat you nicely. He hurted you! People should know about how bad that Beaumont was!"
Cosette sighed. "I didn't mean it that way. What I mean is, why are you doing so many things for me, Louisette? You wrote that novel dedicated to me, and you were there for me when I was with him, and now you let people know about how he mistreated me.. How can I thank you?"
"No need to thank me. It's just what friends do, you know, helping each other."
"I guess you're right. Wait, I didn't notice you were still outside! Come in, come in! Also, you haven't seen my daughter, Aurelie, haven't you?"
Louisette lets Cosette hold her hand, leading her to the kitchen. Cosette introduced her to Aurelie and Cosette's maid, Marie. She also met Cosette's cat, Nocturne. It felt relieving for her to see Cosette feeling better.
Maybe staying here for a few days isn't a bad idea, Louisette thought.
And she was right.
Just made some art.. need to improve some stuffs but this is quite alright I guess..
Istg when I grow up I'll be open minded and won't believe those awful rumours and fake news my older relatives believe
I'm bored, so here's some stuff (plus some revisions) about my OCs!
• (revision) Cosette and Louisette met at a dinner party host by Cosette's parents. They invited Louisette's parents because they're friends. Louisette's parents brought her to the dinner party and she met Cosette there. Cosette was almost 25 y.o. and Louisette was 21 y.o.
• They started dating on 18/02/1921
• Aurelie studied at a girls only dormitory school after she finished primary school.
• Cosette only got to see one of her granddaughter, who is named after her.
• Louisette is both a novelist and a journalist. She once wrote an article about her friend's ex-husband.
• Cosette can play the piano (her father taught her), and so can Louisette, but Cosette is better.
• Cosette's mother taught her to sing when she was 5 y.o.
• Louisette majored in history, while Cosette majored in music.
• Nocturne ( Cosette's cat ) was a stray cat. Cosette adopted him on January 1920, after she went back from the courthouse.
(TW: Mention of death)
• Cosette has an older brother. She also would've had a younger sibling, but her younger sibling died at birth.
Nothing pisses me off as much as the genocide funding fast food chain trying to clean their name by putting up a banner claiming that they have donated a teeny tiny bit of their revenue to Palestinians
Behold, the excerpt of the letter I quoted
“I am longing to press you to my chest, and to tell you - face to face - what you mean to me. Love me as I adore you.”
— Nicolò Paganini in a letter to Luigi-Guglielmo Germi, from Paganini, le magicien by Renée De Saussine
The piece he dedicated to Germi is guitar quartet no. 14, right? I found some recording of that piece! (The movements are separated though)
Movement I:
Movement II:
Movement III:
Movement IV:
Can we talk about THE GUITAR PIECES OF PAGANINI. Jisus, I can’t stop feeling like they’re so underrated, I mean- Listen, I’’m never romantic about music because of personal stuff, but damn… ‘Romanza’. ROMANZA. I feel like seeing a yard of just herb and butterflies flying around. It’s beautiful. And ‘Grand Sonata’ feels pretty nostalgic (maybe because my country took it to make a kids melody…. yikes). It’s just a safe comfort place when I listen to it. And not gonna imagine how GOOD could be the guitar piece he dedicated to Germi…
I finally decided to tell Tori about the charcoal sketch. I invited her, and she came to my house. I showed her the sketch of Alois Vilhelm and said that he might've been the inspiration for my family members' names.
"Interesting. Who do you think wrote the endearments?"
"I don't know. The portrait dates from 1819, so the person who wrote it must've lived during those times.."
"The naming of Louis variant names was started by your fifth great-grandfather, right?" Tori asked.
I think about it for a while. "I don't think he's the one who wrote it, Tori. He's born in 1815, so he probably wouldn't address Alois by his first name."
"You're right, Al." Tori continued, "And it couldn't be your sixth great-grandmother, since your sixth great-grandfather and her divorced a year before."
Suddenly, I remembered about the exhibit.
"Tori? Remember about that letter from 'Victor'? What if.. what if Victor was indeed my sixth great-grandfather, and this Alois.. was his beloved?"
"We can't confirm it yet. We need more proof."
I replied quickly. "I got the sketch from a secret storage under my bed! Maybe there's more things in there!"
"Let's check it!" She turned on the flashlight function on her phone. I opened the secret storage and pulled out a pile of unsealed envelopes.
With shaking hands, I opened one of them and examined the content. A love letter for 'Victor', signed by "Your Beloved". Tori held Alois's sketch, and we compared his handwriting to the letter.
"It fits," we said in union. Then, Tori quickly opened her gallery app, viewing the letter from 'Victor', then comparing it with the endearments behind the sketch, and finally, to Claus Chasterell's handwritten original script of "The Knight and The Elven Bard".
"Is it him?" I asked. She nodded. "Yes, it is Claus's handwriting."
"So, does it mean, the reason my fifth great-grandfather named his son Alois.. is because Alois Vilhelm dated Claus Chasterell?"
"Yes."
We both looked at each other. We did it. We found out who's this Alois my family members are named after.
His name is Alois Vilhelm, and he's my sixth great-grandfather's lover.
(A/N : sorry if this is so rushed, guys! I just wanted to make sure this wouldn't end up unfinished like Cosette and Louisette.. also the secret is pretty guessable isn't it?)
As you all might've noticed, I changed the title to "Aloisia Chasterell and whoever the hell is this Louis or Alois or whatever their name is?!".
