Can we talk about THE GUITAR PIECES OF PAGANINI. Jisus, I can’t stop feeling like they’re so underrated, I mean- Listen, I’’m never romantic about music because of personal stuff, but damn… ‘Romanza’. ROMANZA. I feel like seeing a yard of just herb and butterflies flying around. It’s beautiful. And ‘Grand Sonata’ feels pretty nostalgic (maybe because my country took it to make a kids melody…. yikes). It’s just a safe comfort place when I listen to it. And not gonna imagine how GOOD could be the guitar piece he dedicated to Germi…
So, I already made a sketch of Claus Chasterell, and I might do the lineart tomorrow.. anyways if anyone wanna ask something about my OCs/me (:P) my asks are open :3 ! (I might not answer right away because time zones and stuff, sorry)
Norabella Oakley (left) and Alois Vilhelm (right)
(I drew Alois without a coat because I hadn't found any illustrations of 1819 coats)
Some addition:
• Cosette's birthday is 18th of February (it's actually a little reference to some historical fact)
• Louisette's birthday is 21st of January (it's the birthday of my primary school friend's crush lol)
• And Aurelie's birthday is 23rd of April!
I'm bored, so here's some stuff (plus some revisions) about my OCs!
• (revision) Cosette and Louisette met at a dinner party host by Cosette's parents. They invited Louisette's parents because they're friends. Louisette's parents brought her to the dinner party and she met Cosette there. Cosette was almost 25 y.o. and Louisette was 21 y.o.
• They started dating on 18/02/1921
• Aurelie studied at a girls only dormitory school after she finished primary school.
• Cosette only got to see one of her granddaughter, who is named after her.
• Louisette is both a novelist and a journalist. She once wrote an article about her friend's ex-husband.
• Cosette can play the piano (her father taught her), and so can Louisette, but Cosette is better.
• Cosette's mother taught her to sing when she was 5 y.o.
• Louisette majored in history, while Cosette majored in music.
• Nocturne ( Cosette's cat ) was a stray cat. Cosette adopted him on January 1920, after she went back from the courthouse.
(TW: Mention of death)
• Cosette has an older brother. She also would've had a younger sibling, but her younger sibling died at birth.
Hello, my dear followers. Today, I offer you a drawing of Lui. Tomorrow? Who knows..
I just bought some brush markers so here's some of my lettering :D
(yup, it's another quote from nicc)
Viewing the NBC Hannibal series as an alternate universe instead of an adaptation of the novels would probably make things better for both fandoms tbh
(Here's some dialogue from Louisette's novel, because I won't write the whole book, I just wanted to give some hint about the story)
(Also this probably kinda felt too formal but eh)
"You and me, we were born to accompany each other, Lewis. And while your platonic companionship was enough for me, but I cannot deny it," Colin sighed, "I cannot deny the fact that I wished for our relationship to be.. more than friends, you know?"
Lewis took a deep breath. "I knew it from long before, I just– I just don't want to quickly make assumptions. I had romantic feelings towards you, but I'm afraid that if I act upon it, you.. you'll be disgusted, then you'll distance yourself from me, and we'll both lose our relationship.. our relationship that took years for us to establish.."
"Then we are both the same, Lewis. We were both too afraid to lose each other. I would not distance myself from you, in fact– I do not want to be separated from you."
"Really? Then, may I take your hand as my lover?"
"Yes."
Lewis held Colin's hand and kissed it softly.
"But, knowing how the public react to such relationships like us.. we'll have to keep this a secret."
"You can trust on me to keep this a secret, Colin. I'm also your confidant, after all."
"I know."
He looks.. okay, I guess. Definitely not historically accurate, but it still kinda resembles the real thing :P
(A portrait of Claus Chasterell, A. Vilhelm, 1822)
Claus Chasterell (1783-1852) was a poet, playwright, and actor. Born to a working-class household, he found his luck on winter 1803, having Duchess Isabel of Ellster as his patron. (He later became independent with no patronage)
In Ellster, he met a lot of people who ended up being relevant to his life, such as Norabella Oakley, an actress that he married, only for them to divorce on 1818 (although they still had a good relationship, it just wasn't romantic anymore), and Alois Vilhelm, an artist who used to work as Duchess Isabel's guard, who was also his lifelong friend.
He gained popularity from his play, "Snowstorm", a tragedy, and his wonderful acting only adds to his fame. Although it wasn't the only reason..
Claus was also a very handsome man himself. Lots of people would storm the backroom before his play (where he starred) began, or after it ends, just to see him, or get a strand of his hair, if they're lucky. Percival Chasterell, his son, recounts an event similar to what was described in the previous sentences:
"Those people, they were rushing to the backroom to meet my father. I still can hear their footsteps, until this very day. It turned to such a terrible situation that Mr. Vilhelm, who was accompanying me in the theatre, had to come out and calm down the crowd."
There were some speculations about Claus, such as a theory of him being attracted to men. It originated from a play of him, "The Knight and The Elven Bard", that subtly hinted at romance between two men, and the discovery of some letters to a male recipient which seems to match his handwriting only strengthened the theory.
Claus Chasterell passed away in his birth town, Ferncliff, in 21 March 1852.
