Autistic pigeon, doesn't read the social coos
yeah i'm so sick of some of this fandom feeling so entitled to what everyone else is doing. guys you need to understand that not everything revolves around you and what you enjoy. Just because you're uncomfortable doesn't mean everyone has to stop dead and leave.
If you enter a conversation about something you're uncomfortable with, you have no right to shut them down. Go find somewhere else to have your own conversation instead of breaking up someone elses.
If you're talking to someone and they mention something that you're uncomfortable with, it is ON YOU to tell them POLITELY. People cannot read your mind, nor will they check every blog you own and every backlog of text you post before interacting with you, nor are they trying to make you uncomfortable. Stewing in your discomfort or being rude because of an honest mistake is on you, not them.
Tumblr, AO3, and public discord servers are just that, PUBLIC! Anyone can join the conversation, and everyone is allowed to have fun here. You cannot gatekeep or push people away because they do something you dislike or are uncomfortable with. In a public area it is on you to curate what you see and do. People are allowed to post tsams in the tsams tags, people are allowed to post character art in the character tags, people are allowed to make smut on the fanfic sites, people are allowed to have fun. If you want a perfectly fluffy place with only what you enjoy, you need to make your own private discord or your own hosting site. Hell, you can make your own special tag if you want, you have that option.
.

no wonder the rates of depression and anxiety are so high amongst autistic people. the moment we go out into the world, we learn that the only way people won’t hate us is if we don’t act like ourselves. we learn that one wrong move, one little falter in the mask, can be catastrophic. anxiety isn’t irrational, it’s a learnt response to being shut down the moment we finally feel like we’re being our real selves
