Yes! I can't wait for my MC to reunite with her Vampire Queen!
I agree with the points of this post.
I value quality over quantity when it comes to content and outputs. However, I understand that financial and logistical concerns affect the quality of the outputs produced. When resources and workforce personnel are limited, compromises and business-centered decisions have to be made.
I think that the people at Pixelberry are probably trying their best to deliver good content while also trying to meet demands and make ends meet. They're a group of creative and talented people, and I think that they know that they can do better. But at the end of the day, they have to make sacrifices and compromises.
Also, let's not forget that the PB team is composed of hardworking people who need to earn money. The PB people may do what they do because they love it, but the doesn't change the fact that they are persons who also need to earn to support themselves and their families.
All in all, I think that we should try our best to understand the problems that PB is currently going through. I know that other fans and readers have several concerns regarding the treatment of certain characters and representation in books. And I believe that all those concerns are valid and that they should be addressed. But I think that we should also try to make some room for understanding.
Since my last post about 2019 releases blew up with almost 400 notes in 1 day (long post ahead):
Many users in here have pointed out that the single reason that 2019 has had poor releases, standalone books that were meant to be lengthier franchises, as well as a plethora of genderlocked books and wedding-centric trilogies is
I will remind you that Across the Void had all new character designs, music, backgrounds, and a long story planned ahead. It is most likely the single most ambitious book in PB's recent history, with probably the biggest budget they'd had. And because the fandom failed to endure the warmup leading up to our MC's involvement in the war, PB lost a TON of money. That has led to:
1. Additional spending to rewrite the story of ATV in order to give it a(n) (semi-proper ending)
2. The release of cheaply-made "moneymakers" that rely a ton on players spending diamonds for romance scenes. See Wishful Thinking, Passport to Romance, Sunkissed, etc.
3. The reuse of face options for MCs and limiting the amount of free outfits one can wear drastically. (Bachelorette Party offers you one free dress. ONE.)
4. This is a minor one: The weird reusal of ATV's music in the Elementalists 2. Don't get me wrong, I like the music, but the mashup of the two soundtracks doesn't feel genuine enough.
We know for a fact that Pixelberry knows better than this. We know that they are able to write better stories than these most recent ones. We find ourselves focusing too much on the disappointment of Sunkissed and Passport to Romance that we sometimes forget to cherish the greatness that was and is Open Heart, Ride-Or-Die, and most recently, Nightbound.
The discourse of the fandom over Nightbound having only book took Tumblr by storm just yesterday. If romance lovers are PB's real moneymakers, then PB will cater to them first, before they can release their genuinely well-crafted passion projects.
We were spoiled in 2018 with the release of Bloodbound, Veil of Secrets, Perfect Match, A Courtesan of Rome, It Lives Beneath, The Elementalists, and The Heist:Monaco, just to name a few, which have all been excellent.
If Across the Void hadn't tanked, then there probably wouldn't even have been a need for Passport to Romance or Wishful Thinking. Or at least, there may have been more funds to give them more satisfying conclusions. Bloodbound II would probably have avoided turning into the bizarre series of fanservice-sexcapades that it has turned into.
Not to mention all of the heteronormative and sexually suggestive covers that we have had recently:
1. The change of the Nightbound cover (thank God it's been reversed now)
2. The Sunkissed cover (which has our MC LITERALLY kissing Nate, so rest in peace, WLW)
3. The Big Sky Country 2 cover, which suggestively features a female MC and Sawyer
4. The Red Carpet Diaries 3 cover, which features our MC marrying Matt (again, rest in peace, WLW. You've had it the toughest out of all of us.)
5. Platinum gets a pass here, since it lets you choose Raleigh's and Avery's genders in-game, in spite of showing the MC with a male Raleigh.
These changes are the result of careful data analysis, and PB knows what they're doing financially. They need to rebuild and gather funds for new stories. So, if you can, do purchase more diamonds to spend on those less romance-centric stories, or at least try to enjoy the (admittedly massive) amount of content that we are getting right now. Diamond miners have never had it this good.
Pixelberry just had a bit of a slump. Things will turn for the better, for sure. (Also, please refrain from attacking the "Facebook moms". If they're the ones who make it possible to receive our weekly content, then at least let them have this.)
Reblogging my updated Masterlist. Hehe.
Hello, everyone. I decided to organize my stories by creating a masterlist with links for easier and more convenient access.
BloodBound:
Kamilah Sayeed x MC
The Brightest Light
Fears, Doubts, and Apprehensions
Mistakes (Part 1)
Mistakes (Part 2)
A Moment Alone
The Promise
Reunited
Glad that I Have You (NSFW) [Latest addition to the list]
Note: I will update this masterlist whenever I post new stories. :)
This is so adorable!
I've missed her dominant side!
A vampire party + flirtations? Sounds fun, but the only vampire that my MC will be flirting with is Kamilah.
On the left: Chapter 10: The Plan, Book 2 - Kamilah tells the MC that she doesn't think that she could bear to lose her mortal lover.
On the right: Chapter 1: The Hunger, Book 3 - Kamilah tells the MC that she refused to accept that she had lost the latter.
On the left: Chapter 16: The End, Book 2 - Kamilah laments that they didn't have enough time.
On the right: Chapter 1: The Hunger, Book 3 - Kamilah expresses that having more time with the MC feels like a miracle.
I was honestly pissed that the writers didn't have her say 'I love you' directly, but it's obvious that Kamilah's love for the MC is reflected in both her words and actions.
I love these two together and I'm excited to see more tender and loving scenes featuring that two of them.
I think that it might be released sometime in November. Or perhaps during the last few days of October. Maybe or maybe not.
Anyway, I'm excited to see our favorite vampires again! Especially Kamilah and the MC. Hehe.
Summary:
“Kochou… I wish we talked more while you were still here.”
Muzan’s reign of terror has finally come to an end, allowing for an era of true peace to start. Yet, despite the peace, there are still regrets.
